Tony Woods's POV

That was the second time Marcus has amazed me in the space of ten minutes.

If he wasn't my friend, I would have doubted that he was a magician.

I have never witnessed anyone exhibit such brilliance before.

Marcus barely said a word to explain how he managed to call the cops unnoticed.

All he did was smile at me and touch his chest, signaling me to stay calm and that he had everything under control.

Some moments later, I heard the siren of a cab heading towards my company's premises.

I needed no one to tell me that the policemen had arrived.

“That was fast, Marcus.

I never expected that.

How did you manage to pull that up again,” I said to Marcus while still trying to fathom how the policemen showed up so quickly.

It wasn't too long before I questioned Marcus about how he invited the cops without my consent.

“Don't worry about that. It's not necessary for now.

I don't want us to waste our time on irrelevance when we have other issues to be bothered with,” Marcus responded while pointing at Sean just to refer.

I kept the questions to myself, knowing that Marcus would never satisfy my curiosity.

Rather, I set my focus on a different thing. What matters to me is getting Sean locked up in prison until he confesses everything I need to know about my so-called wife, Angela, who has chosen to mess with my life.

“I'll be back shortly.

I need to go speak with the cops.

I promise to return with the cop in a matter of seconds,” Marcus disclosed as he stepped down from the car.

A few seconds after his departure, he returned. But this time, with a different motive.

“Sorry, I forgot to say this before leaving. Please keep an eye on him.

Ensure he doesn't escape.

I bet he's thinking about that already. He's the only one who can provide us with the answers we need,” Marcus warned me.

That was the last thing he said before leaving. What a coincidence! That was the same thing on my mind.

It's safe to say that Marcus and I were on the same page.

While seated next to Sean, I couldn't even look him in the eyes. Everything about him became irritating to me.

I couldn't wait to see him spend the rest of his life in jail.

“Sir, please.

You have got to believe me.

I am not the father of your son.

Your wife and I dated in the past. We never had sex,” Sean continued to plead as though his life depended on it.

Ignoring his tears as though they never mattered, I whined down the windscreen and glanced outside to examine the conversation between Marcus and the policemen.

They were far away from me, which made it difficult for me to hear their voices.

But somehow, I managed to read their lips and noticed the discussion was about Sean.

Suddenly, they stopped talking and started approaching my car.

I looked away and focused my gaze on Sean.

As much as he claimed to be innocent, I still refused to take him for granted.

There's a high possibility that he might escape should I take my eyes off him for a second.

But with cuffs wrapped around his hands, his chances of fleeing will be very rare.

Just then, Marcus and a police officer joined Sean and me inside the car.

Sean's tension increased drastically the moment he saw the police officer.

He went from plotting his escape to dodging the police officer.

He tried his best to avoid eye contact with the police officer.

Unfortunately for him, it didn't last too long. It was only a matter of time before he started noticing that.

“Hey, mate.

Can you please turn around? I want to see your face,” the officer requested politely.

It took him a while to notice the snub from Sean as he was so engrossed in seeing more details from me

“No, sir.

I would rather not look at you.

You won't understand,” Sean begged.

At that point, he wished the ground would open and swallow him.

It would have been better than the calamity that was about to befall him.

“You are not making this easy for yourself, young man. If you truly want to come out of this mess, then you have got to comply with the law.

Otherwise, I'm going to have to apply force, which won't be pleasant for you,” the officer warned Sean for the second time.

The only difference was the tone used in addressing Sean.

He was fed up with Sean trying to play smart when it was obvious that Sean wasn't going to get away with it.

Despite the officer's use of force, it still did not affect Sean.

The Sean that sat next to me suddenly became so confident and brave. I haven't witnessed him in such action.

It got me second guessing herself if he was the same person I employed. Or perhaps, a different person was cloned inside his body.

Upon realizing that Sean was still proving to be a hard nut to crack, the officer lost his cool. “I guess this is where I have got to be unfriendly,”

Leaning forward, he forced Sean's head to look in his direction.

It was difficult at first due to the gigantic distance between them.

But in the end, he was successful.

Sean gave up too soon as he got tired of hiding his face.

The moment the officer caught a glimpse of Sean's face, his countenance changed.

With a loud voice, he screamed, “Sean Carter?”

His voice was so loud that it nearly damaged my eardrum.

It was as though the officer saw a ghost.

It now dawned on me why Sean was trying to avoid eye contact with the officer.

“Wait a minute!

You two know each other before?” Marcus and I popped the question immediately as though it were planned.

Marcus and I looked confused.

But the same thing can't be said about Sean and the officer.

I was damn certain that something was wrong somewhere.

From the look of things, Sean, and the officer might have a history together.

Tony Woods's POV“Can someone please say something already? Don't fucking sit here and do nothing while I die in silence. Have you two known each other before?” I lost my cool and yelled at them. The silent treatment was beginning to mess with my head. They made it seem like I was insane when none of them responded to my question Marcus patted me on the shoulder, pleading for me to stay calm, but I ignored him. Instead, his plea fuelled my frustration. I didn't know when I screamed at him. “Don't you dare tell me to stay calm, Marcus? Have you lost your mind?Do I need to remind you what's at stake here?” Marcus sighed and looked away. He knew that he screwed up. Deep down, he wanted to apologize to me, but he wasn't certain if I was going to accept the apology. I let out a deep breath and forced myself to stay calm. I tried all I could not to speak further or act. I didn't trust my guts. I was scared that I might do something stupid to hurt someone, which would, of course

Tony Woods POV“Your wife hired me as her third eye in the company. I tried to back out, but she threatened to report me to the cops. I had no choice but to comply with her evil agenda against you. She never loved you. She married you because of your wealth. She also plots to take over the company immediately after your demise,” Sean revealed. “She never loved you,” the words ring a bell in my head. It feels like a Déjà vu. That was what Susan said when she visited my mansion with Paul.I thought she said that out of jealousy because she couldn't endure the fact I found love according to a younger woman. That was the reason I drove her out of my house. I should have paid more attention to Susan rather than kicking her out. History has repeated itself and the same thing I avoided has finally happened to me.Marcus said so much until I stopped him from talking. He was spilling more dirty secrets than I ever envisaged. Tony Woods POVWith him on my side as my lawyer, we haven't lost a single legal battle. I don't see how Angela is going to escape this. “I got your text and got here as fast as I could. The tone of the text sounded pretty urgent. What do you want to discuss? Is there a problem we should be worried about?” Marcus asked me after we had exchanged pleasantries and laughed at each other's jokes. He hasn't settled down, and he's already throwing questions at me like an atomic bomb.I wanted to initiate the conversation when I heard funny movements outside my office. Instantly, I halted and leaned my ears forward to observe the sound again “Is anything the matter? Why are you acting weird?” Marcus called my attention after he noticed how silent and observant I'd been over the last couple of minutes. “Give me a second, please. I need to sort something out,” I pleaded with Marcus. Not satisfied, I sneaked to the door and carefully opened it to scan the areas thoroughly. Unfortunately,

Tony Woods POVAfter the departure of Paul and Susan, it took a while for me to regain my sanity. I didn't know where I was anymore I kept on talking to myself like I was losing my mind. I was this close to booking a therapy session to fix the damage that Angela caused in my life. It felt as though I was living the life of someone else. I had a lot in mind to do, but I had no idea how to go about it. I was afraid that my decisions might be costly. I lost count of how many times I've canceled some important meetings that could be beneficial to my company. The meetings weren't relevant to me even though I was quite aware of how detrimental it would be for my company “Should I seek a divorce immediately and end this torment that has taken over my life completely? Or should I stick to Paul's advice to take things slowly?” I asked myself while the voice echoed back to me.It breaks my heart even more that I couldn't find that one person to share my pain with and get the solution

I wasn't even certain what I wanted anymore, even though I asked them for more. That one question from Paul shattered the thoughts in my head.I wanted to satisfy my curiosity quickly. At the same time, I would rather not have my heart broken.Devastated, I rested my head on the desk like a lost soup while making the deliberation within me.While trying to decide for myself, Paul's phone rang again.
