Tony Woods's POV

"Introduce you to whom? Who the heck are you talking about?

You need to have your head examined because it's obvious that you've lost it. When, lady, did you have your medication?'

I yelled at Angela with the last strength inside of me.

It wasn't my intention to yell at her in such a manner, but she pushed me to the wall, and I had no choice.

“Oh?

You are going to pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about? You try to play smart but unfortunately, you aren't,” Angela retaliated.

I thought yelling at her was going to scare her a bit, but I was wrong.

I didn't know where she got the strength from.

I was lost, yet stunned by how Angela managed to pull up that defense mechanism.

Coming from someone who has so many dirty secrets.

If there's anyone who is entitled to be upset, clearly it should be me.

Quietly, I sauntered to the wardrobe and selected my pajamas.

Right in her presence, I wore it and grabbed my pillow.

“Where the heck are you heading to right now?” Angela questioned me, but I ignored her.

Instead, I continued to walk towards the door.

As I was about to leave, she rushed and stood in front of me, preventing my exit.

“We ain't done having this discussion.

Are you running away? Because it's only a coward that runs away from a fight,” She blasted me.

Angela treated me like her maid. She had no regard for me whatsoever.

I felt so ashamed of myself, knowing that Angela would pass as my last child.

If I hadn't stooped so low to marry her despite all the warnings, she wouldn't dare speak to me like that in public.

“For your information, I am done with this conversation.

I have nothing else to offer you.

If you don't mind, get the fuck out of my way before I do something stupid,” I warned Angela.

She thought it was a mere threat until I grabbed a vase on the ground and vowed to smash her head with it should she attempt to stop me.

“Fine!

You won tonight.

But I want to assure you, this ain't over yet.

We are gonna talk about it some other time,” she finally succumbed.

The fear of having her head smashed with a vase forced her to retreat.

I didn't drop the vase on the ground; I took it along with me just to keep Angela away until she was finally unreachable.

Knowing she feared being hit with the vase, she was most likely to attack me should I dare to drop the vase before leaving.

I rushed to the guest room and shut the door.

I owned the mansion, yet I had no peace of mind.

Restlessness and chaos both combined forces to frustrate me.

I was slowly becoming a shadow of myself.

I was living inside my house like a slave; something that never happened while I was still married to my ex-wife.

To date, I still can't fathom why I ended things with my first wife.

Despite her plea for a possible comeback, I treated her like rubbish.

As though that weren't enough, I accused her that her reason for wanting a comeback was to destroy me completely.

Perhaps, she must have learned some evil plot and decided to use them against me.

Unfortunately, it turns out that Angela is my karma.

She's the punishment I got for how I treated my ex-wife.

Despite being alone in the room and the door shut, I still couldn't get sleep.

How could I sleep in the same house with the devil?

How could I sleep with my two eyes closed, knowing that Angela might be plotting my desk just to take over my empire?

I tried watching a movie on my phone, but it wasn't helping.

I got bored in the end.

However, the slumber I wished for never came.

Rather, my eyes widened like I was some sort of security at a company.

In the process of trying to figure out a perfect solution, my eyes caught a glimpse of a bottle of liquor beside the bed.

I smiled. “Now that's what I'm talking about,”

But the moment I remembered the doctor's warning against the intake of liquor, sadness strolled back to my face again.

I wasn't a staunch advocate for liquor, but I had no choice.

It was the only solution I needed to get the sleep that I wanted.

Stretching my hand to the ground, I picked up the bottle and gulped a small portion.

It was a direct gulp. I wasn't bothered to search for a glass.

Just a small gulp and I was already feeling dizzy. My vision was slowly becoming blurry.

I could barely even see what was right in front of me.

Just when I was excited that my little trick was finally working, my phone beeped.

I checked my phone and discovered a text from my lawyer, Marcus.

Due to how intoxicated I had become, I couldn't read the complete text.

All my eyes could grasp was, “Please come to the station tomorrow.

There's something you need to know. Sean made a shocking confession regarding your life,”

The text awakened my head, but what would I have done about it? Absolutely nothing.

I tried texting back, but my hands were trembling.

They could barely hold the phone despite how small the device was.

I thought about calling Marcus before I fell asleep like a baby.

A few moments later, a loud cry woke up.

It felt like magic.

I glanced at the wall clock and saw that it was 7:30AM

I had a little migraine inside my head due to the liquor I had the previous night

While caressing my head to ease the pain, I heard the exact loud cry.

It wasn't just a cry.

“Kelly, please don't die on me,” the female voice begged.

It was at that moment that I knew that my son was in danger.

Tony Woods's POV “Oh, no. Not again. What does this bitch want from me once more?” I hissed. I felt like smashing my phone to the ground, but I considered the important information I may lose should I attempt to do that. A thousand times she called, and not for once, did I respond. I dropped the phone on my lap and left the company's premises. I didn't know where the strength came from because a while ago, I had nothing left inside of me. I was already making plans to book an appointment with my doctor to have my body fully examined. A few miles away from my estate, my phone beeped. Unlike the previous time, it was a notification. I picked up the phone to check the notification only to see a text from Angela which says, “Your son is worried about you. Where have you been? He has been asking to see you,” Immediately, I pulled over. I didn't know when I started weeping like a toddler. It dawned on me that Kelly would feel most of the pain now. My hate towards the poor kid

Unlike my son's advice, My ex-wife revealed how she had caught Angela flirting around the city with numerous guys. Did I listen to her?Of course not. What did I do? I called her a jealous fellow. I accused her of trying to sabotage my marriage to Angela because I ended things with her. Seven years later, the warnings from those who mattered to me are starting to haunt me. Back then, I gave a thousand reasons I wanted to get married to Angela. But today, I can't even speak up to save my life. “What are you talking about, Marcus? Why would you ask me why I married Angela?” I sparked outrageously at Marcus. I tried to act tough and pretend that what he said never mattered. But deep down, I cared the most. I maintained a straight

Tony Woods's POV“Who's calling your phone at this hour? And don't you dare lie to me because I'm going to find out,” I challenged Sean. I didn't give him a chance to speak up first, knowing that he would lie. “It ain't my phone. Why are you probing me? You should check yours.Or don't you have yours? Besides, I'm not the only one seated in this car. I'm pretty sure the others have phones too. “ Sean responded in a placating tone. I didn't utter a word. I didn't retaliate for his rudeness towards me. It was just a matter of time before he spat in my face.I pretend not to hear him speak. I looked away. The moment I noticed he wasn't paying attention, I landed a punch on his chin. “That is what you get for lying to me.I might be closer to my old age, but certainly not a vegetable. I can't be messed with.” Since his hands were cuffed, I was confident that he wasn't going to retaliate with the heavy punch I threw at him. Like a kid who lost a family, he sobbed. I ignored

Tony Woods POV“Sir, I hope you do know that you're the one delaying this investigation, right?I wouldn't want you to play the victim card when the table gets turned in your favor. For crying out loud, it's getting late, and we haven't done anything significant,” Marcus told me, even when I warned him not to speak. He spoke so fast, as though he were under immense pressure. It was obvious that he couldn't keep the thought to himself for too long. What he said about me was rather degrading. Such an act could be capable of bringing out the best in me. But what was I supposed to do anyway? Absolutely nothing!I didn't pick any offense in what Marcus said about me, and neither did I retaliate that he used a harsh tone on me even when he shouldn't be doing that. Irrespective of how everything will play out, I always expected him to be on my side at all times. Inside of me, I knew he was right. I was doing the same thing I was kicked against a couple of minutes ago. I had a glance

Tony Woods's POV“Can someone please say something already? Don't fucking sit here and do nothing while I die in silence. Have you two known each other before?” I lost my cool and yelled at them. The silent treatment was beginning to mess with my head. They made it seem like I was insane when none of them responded to my question Marcus patted me on the shoulder, pleading for me to stay calm, but I ignored him. Instead, his plea fuelled my frustration. I didn't know when I screamed at him. “Don't you dare tell me to stay calm, Marcus? Have you lost your mind?Do I need to remind you what's at stake here?” Marcus sighed and looked away. He knew that he screwed up. Deep down, he wanted to apologize to me, but he wasn't certain if I was going to accept the apology. I let out a deep breath and forced myself to stay calm. I tried all I could not to speak further or act. I didn't trust my guts. I was scared that I might do something stupid to hurt someone, which would, of course
