But it seems that my mate was more eager than me. Blame it on the drug in her system.

She crashed her lips onto mine in a clumsy kiss—eagerness and desire both evident in that—but I smiled widely.

She was inexperienced. It meant that she had never kissed anyone else before.

I responded immediately, taking over the kiss. She moaned aloud before following my lead.

Goddess! She tasted so divine!!!!!

I sucked her lips as if I were in a hot desert and just found the oasis there.

She tried to do the same thing with my lips but took both of her lips inside my lips and bit her lower lip while sucking them hard.

She rubbed her hard n*pples against my chest, making it hard for me not to flip her and f**k her. I cupped the bottom of her hips and rocked her lower body over the hard shaft.

She started rocking her body on her own while her hands continued scratching my chest. The water became warm.

I kicked the lid from the drainage with my toe. I released her lips but didn’t let go of them. I thrust my tongue between her teeth, and she opened her mouth for me like an obedient mate. She pressed her hard n*pples against my small buttons, but this was enough to make me press her lower body on my shaft that was threatening to tear the clothes down there so that it could find its way to her needy core.

I thrust my tongue inside her mouth, ravishing every inch of her mouth. I grabbed the hem of her jeans when I felt pressure at the back of my mind.

“What?” I barked angrily, pissed with the interruption.

“Where are you? There is a problem out there.” Hunter asked me anxiously through mind-link.

I looked at my mate and scowled darkly when I found her sleeping peacefully on my chest now.

“What happened?” I asked Hunter in a grim tone, holding my mate safely in my embrace and slowly standing up.

The good thing was that her body temperature was normal.

The bad thing was that I was still steel-hard.

“Keith and his beta have sent people all over the pack in search of someone. They asked me about your whereabouts a few minutes ago.” He replied to me, and I scoffed internally.

“I am at my room. If his beta asked you about my whereabouts again, tell him that I am still waiting for the wine bottle that he offered me earlier.” I instructed him casually, suppressing my urge to be sarcastic, but I knew that Hunter got the implication.

“Got it, bro.” Hunter replied to me before cutting off the mind link.

I put my mate on the bed and moved all the strands of hair stuck on her face behind her ear. She was beautiful.

Her face was still slightly red, making her irresistible, but she was now unconscious, and I am a man of principles.

I sighed when I looked down on myself.

Hazel’s P.O.V.

I tried to open my eyes, but the pounding headache didn’t let me open my eyes. I groaned in pain, hitting my head with my fist to get some relief from the pain, but not only my head but also my whole body was aching badly.

I felt as if someone had thrown tons of heavy stones at me. Every muscle was screaming in protest.

I sighed and relaxed my body without opening my eyes.

The silence around me and a very nice scent around me gave me a very weird kind of peace of mind that I didn’t experience after my pack was destroyed.

I let this peace wash over me and sighed softly. I could say that it wasn’t my room.

Then where was I?

I tried to remember my last memories, and my whole body shuddered hard in panic.

I snapped open my eyes in panic and looked around frantically. My heart sank when I realized that it was a hotel bedroom.

What the f**k??

Did I have a one-night stand with a stranger?????

I cursed Keith a hundred times in my heart, but my heart almost leaped out of my chest when I registered my present state.

But that wasn’t the problem…

I shook my head hard, throwing the second idea out of my mind.

He must have taken advantage of me, or else why would I have so many hickeys on me?

But then a vague memory hit my brain again. I remembered a heavy and hoarse voice asking me to stop, and then I kissed him.

I initiated the kiss, and he just responded back. It was me who brought this on me.

I frantically pulled the sheet up and covered my body, mentally slapping myself.

I thanked the goddess so many times in my mind when I realized that I was completely alone in the suite.

Suite????

So, he must be an alpha or from a rich family.

I looked around for my clothes but didn’t find them. I slowly stood up while wrapping the sheet around me.

I walked to the closet and inhaled sharply after opening the door.

His scent was intoxicating and at the same time provided a sense of safety.

I blinked hard and took one of his shirts and shorts. All the shirts are black, which was perfect for me. I wasn't of short height, but I didn't want to appear disheveled.

After wearing them in the most acceptable way that I could think of, I took my phone from the nightstand but froze when I saw my pendant there.

He must have sensed my wolf.

All thanks to that b*stard Keith. I took the pendant and put it on me hastily while running towards the door.

To my good luck, the corridor was empty. I didn't wait for the elevator and ran towards the staircase. I was still barefoot. So, I didn't want anyone to look at me with a judgmental gaze.

My reputation in the pack was already bad enough because of my wolf's absence.

I ran towards the backdoor and increased my pace as soon as I left the hotel. I heard so many whispers coming from here and there, but I didn't stop to listen to them.

Still, I heard that Keith and his team searched for someone all night. I didn't need to guess whom he was searching for all night.

I ran towards a narrow alley outside the back of the hotel.

I stopped at the other end of the alley and slumped down while breathing heavily.

I needed to leave this pack at any cost, but how could I?

My adopted mother was terminally ill and needed constant medical care. Thanks to Keith's father's charitable trust for the people needing medical help, she was getting good care at the hospital.

I had no stable job, no savings.

I sighed in resignation and closed my eyes. My phone started ringing in my hands, which made me open them again.

I was still tired and hungry, but I took the call immediately when I saw it was Cody, my doctor friend and my mother's attending doctor.
