The beginning

For some reason, I woke up very early that morning. I tried to go back to sleep but it proved to be impossible so I went to the living room and turned on the television. My mother had spent the night wherever she was gone. I could only hope she was safe.

I watched a movie for about an hour before switching to a gossip channel. That was the first mistake of the day. The anchor was talking about some crazy heiress seen in the club dancing with two men. She looked drunk in her luxury clothes.

“On a related news, it seems Mason Steele and Carolina Mendoza are an item.” That made me sit up immediately. I rubbed my eyes so I could see clearer. The scene switched to Mason and Carolina dancing closely in a club. I found myself crying as I watched the news. My mind had switched off and I was not even hearing what was being said.
