... Oder doch nicht?
View More"School's starting in two days," Ally sprinted across their shared bedroom, reaching for her skirts and shoving herself through, "this is literally welcome weekend party."
Kane was not impressed.
For one, he had never agreed to move into this home. Although his step-father had been genuinely kind and helped him navigate through the city, this entire change was still a struggle for him to deal with. Not only did he move six hours from his friends, but he was in a city he had never heard before neither had he wanted to move. It was the whole, "I found someone I love and he's willing to let us both move-in." He never had a choice, it was his mother's decision since she had custody of him. Well, he could have said no but living in the streets to make ends meet was not in his best interest at the moment.
Kane exhaled a long sigh as he glanced over the clustered room he had to share with his step-sister. Her makeup was all over the wardrobe, and their desk they shared. All the clothes she tried on were piled on the floor since it took hours until she found her sparkled dress with slots on the side of her waist and the neckline lowered to the bottom of her cleavage line.
This was not the environment he had agreed to live in. But for his mother, he would do anything she wanted—they had suffered enough.
"It's the biggest party of every year—it's thrown by the football players of our school. You really should come with us," Ally offered again, glancing towards him before she hurried to squeeze her earrings in. "You'll have lots of fun and meet new people."
Kane simply stared at her, judging the mess as she struggled to place on her heels. Although he never wanted a sister, he thought Ally was cool. She had a tomboy vibe, since she lived with only her dad for years and she had acquired all his boyish traits. She played video games, she loved to fight and always spoke what was on her mind, which he often hated. But he considered her a bro, and her personality allowed it to be that way. She had long black hair she dyed countless times, a rounded jaw with a small pointy nose. Her eyes were dark brown, and she had quite high cheeks but piercing dimples. He always made fun of her smile since it was crooked, but she had the straightest teeth he had ever seen. To which she flaunted, always needing to say, "and I never had braces."
As for Kane, he was an introvert.
He could even be associated with being a bad boy, since his character was very reserved. He had friends, but his friend group was not very large, and he only spoke when he felt like it. He was mean to people he found no reason to be kind to, and the worse was that he knew nobody would say something to him since his size was definitely frightening. He was six foot three, with wide shoulders and a built physique, a lean stomach with a sharp jawline that many envied. He also had black curls, and wore rings on a few of his fingers, his right thumb needing to have one. His eyes were a dark navy, always somber with no trace of any emotions unless there was someone that angered him.
Ally was one of the people Kane actually liked being around. Although she was blunt, she was much kinder than she appeared to be. She even offered to take all the same classes with Kane since she didn't want him to be alone—and he took her up on that offer because he didn't want to be alone either.
That was part of the reason Kane eventually stood from his bed, stretched his shoulder blades and let out a heavy yawn, "When are we leaving?"
"Ten minutes—"
"Then no," he was moments from slumping back on the bed when Ally reached for his arm and pulled him towards the bathroom.
"Just get ready, freshen up a bit, you'll be done by the time they get here."
Although reluctant, he let her push him into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. As expected, they arrived ten minutes later, and Kane was still pulling down his turtle neck shirt, shoving it inside his black pants and straightening his belt around his waist.
"Don't worry," Ally said as she stormed out of the home, "we'll wait for you in the car—"
"No wait—!" And the door slammed behind her.
Kane didn't want to leave the house alone, he wanted to walk out with Ally so that they greet her friends together. Now it would be a bit awkward, which he cursed under his breath before he continued to tidy up. When he was ready, he left the home while fixing the end of his sleeve, his gold watch on his wrist reflecting the glare from the car lights and he squinted his eyes when he was out, closing the door behind him.
The minute he left the house, Ally's friend, Megan, punched her on the arm, gawking at Kane as he walked towards the car, "You didn't tell us he was hot."
"You think he is?" Ally raised an eyebrow, glancing towards Kane as he sent a few fingers through his hair, "He's whatever to me."
"That's because he's your sibling, Ally look at him walk. Look at his pecs," Jamie bit her bottom lip, thinking of all the ways he could devour her. "He could really rip me to pieces."
"Yuck," Ally grimaced.
Randy was in the driver's seat, eyeing him as well, "Yea, he's a good looking guy."
"Let me go for him," Kristen said from the backseat.
Megan shook her head, narrowing her eyes, "I called him first, I call dibs."
"Honestly, whoever he's interesting in wins, so free-for-all," Jamie winked, seeing him step around the car towards her side of the door.
Kristen shrugged her shoulders in the back, "I always win those challenges anyway, so sure."
"That's not true," Jamie furrowed her brows.
Ally rolled her eyes, "Make room for him, I'll go in the back." She pushed past Jamie and headed to the back beside Kristen, and at that moment, Kane opened the car door.
"You must be the new kid—?"
"Al, where the hell is my cellphone?" Kane spat, ignored Jamie who raised her eyebrows, unsure whether to take this as rejection.
Ally frowned, "How the hell am I supposed to know?"
"Then I'm not coming—"
"Kane, come on," Ally rolled her eyes, waving for him to get in, "I have mine and we're sticking together so you'll be fine without it. Come on, we still have to get drinks."
Kane grumbled a curse word under his breath before finally turning his gaze to meet the skimpy dress Jamie wore. Then, he met her gaze, noticing the flirtatious lip bit she sent him, her tongue sliding along the top lip before she pressed her arms together, her boobs pushed together and making them appear much bigger.
"I'll scoot over, you can sit next to me," she breathed, sliding to the side and pushing herself against Megan.
Kane entered the car, the soft smell of his men perfume enveloping the vehicle and causing all three girls to feel jittery. As he closed the door, Megan leaned forward to meet his gaze, "How do you like it here so far?"
Kane shrugged his shoulders, "It's fine."
"Are you ready for tonight," Jamie smirked, winking in his direction, "we're taking lots of shots together." He suddenly felt a palm on his thigh, and when he glanced downwards, Jamie's hand was on him.
Instantly, a frown pulled down his brows and he glanced backwards to Ally before returning his eyes to Jamie, "Uh...sure?"
"Don't hoard him for yourself Jamie," Kristen leaned towards him, her arms on the front seat. "So, how old are you?"
"Nineteen—"
"Are you single?" Jamie asked bluntly, and this time, he slowly and politely grabbed her fingers from his thigh and returned her hand onto her own thigh.
"No."
"What?!" All three of them exclaimed, and Ally snorted before shaking her head. Kane glanced back towards Ally and smirked, to which Ally understood completely what he meant.
"Who's your girlfriend?" Jamie seemed annoyed at this point.
Kane shrugged his shoulders, "I would rather not share that information, but you all seem nice."
The next ten minutes from the car ride was the three girls complaining about him having a girlfriend, and it was only when they reached the party and left the car, that Kane wrapped an arm around Ally's shoulders and leaned towards her ear, whispering, "Don't tell them I lied."
"Of course I won't," Ally murmured quietly, "they'd literally eat you up if you didn't say that. Good thinking."
