The Next Target

          Shin enters Jae Suk's office, his executive chief while bringing some reports on the progress of the ACO's case. After receiving the report , Jae Suk read it seriously and several wrinkles appeared on his face.

           "so... they are not related to ACO members?"Jae Suk asked after making the conclusion of the report.

          "they are just ordinary fighters... well, but I'll keep making more observations about it, just in case they think they can fool us.. there was actually still someone who made me suspicious, but unfortunately, he was able to escape from me" Shin said. 

           "alright then... be careful " Jae Suk said attentively. He then closed the letter report and accidentally saw Shin's wrist.

            "are you hurt? What's that bruise?"  Jae Suk pointed at the bruise on Shin's wrist with his eye movement. The muscular man raised his hand and examined the bruises that his boss meant.

          "a girl just bit me..." said Shin remembers the last night when he lost his target because of the teenage brawl and the crazy girl.

         "a girl??"Jae Suk asked with suspicious eyes, he smiled at Shin with a teasing face.

        "what kind of girl?"Jae Suk added . Extremelly curious. 

         "just a crazy girl." Shin said later. Jae suk laughs at his answer and looks at Shin with a suspicious mocking face.

         "she's really a crazy girl indeed... how could she bite you? "Something" certainly happened last night, right?"Jae Suk asked. Shin seemed confused, not understanding what Jae Suk was talking about.

           "are you finally dating someone?" Jae Suk asked and looked straightly ahead at the end.

       "what?" Shin asked in shock.

         "oooh ... come on, just tell me, is she beautiful?"ask Jae Suk again.

         "yes she is ... wait. I mean no... well yeah, she's beautiful, but she's not... I'm not dating her!" Shin replied while explaining everything with a messy sentence.

         "hahaha... yak Shin-ah,you're blushing... You don't have to hide it if you're dating someone..."said Jae Suk couldn't help but laugh at seeing the cold Shin being shy and his face turning red, this is the first time seeing him like that.

             "please stop teasing me Chairman Yoo, she is just a crazy girl I met during the investigation, she is the reason why I can't follow my target, she fights in front of the nightclub, she is even a high school student and she is the only girl there, don't you think she is really crazy? How can a girl behave like that? And dhe bit me when I tried to catch her, she was so ridiculous " said Shin started nagging and feeling annoyed again with Hyang. He felt that he would definitely shout at her and give her a very long advice if they met again.

          "you seem to be watching her very well, don't you?"  Jae Suk kept his smile and continued his "make fun" of Shin.

         "why should I?" ask Shin back.

          "hahaha, how cute... Shin-ah, can't you realize the way you talk about her? Is it possible to tell a story in detail when you don't really care and take a big focus on her? And also, you even let her bite you? The tough Kim Shin did that? You never even let anyone of us touch you though... is she special to you?"Jae Suk asked.

         Shin just kept quiet for a while, thinking about the answer to that question.

        "I've already told you the report I have, so, excuse me Chairman Yoo..." Shin said bowing before leaving the office without answering the question.

         "that boy... he can also be shy?"Jae suk muttered smiling to himself while looking at the door that Shin had just closed.

         Meanwhile, at the SEC elite school. There are two girl who are talking in the restroom, they washing their hand and have a ceritain conversation about something. 

         “do you know the rumor about the angel devil? People said that Song Hyang use her power to get close with the boys...” said the first girl.

        “she did that? What a pity... all of the boys are quiet attractive, why should they stick close with her? She even not look like a real girl, not even pretty, I think the rumour is right...” said the other one.

           “they have handsome faces and great popularity. They are so amazing! That bitch! I really want to beat her and exchange our spot, what did she do actually? I really hate her!” said the girl with a short hair while applying some make up on her face. 

         “did you know about her dark past rumor?” ask the other girl who has a chubby cheeck, she is really cute. 

        “what do you mean?” ask her friend back. The cute little girl become aware, she look around the restroom and make sure if there is no one else there before speak up.

         “there is a rumor said that she ever killed a person...” whisper the girl.

        “she is a murderer? Daebak!” said the short hair girl with the opened mouth and widened eyes.

         “I’m not sure is it the truth or not, but some people ever mentioned it..”

           “that’s definitely right! I believe that’s true... yaaah... she is really something right? Good for her! She has a great family background... I have a goosebump! why a girl like her has to attend a school? Isn’t she suppose to entering the jail rather than a school? I really scare of her now... I hope I will never bump with her until I graduate from this school” said the girl with a fear in her eyes.

          “I think the angel devil members already knew about that, maybe she make it as a threat, poor of them... I hope she will realize her position and let our lovely oppas go...” add the other girl.

          “Braakk!!” suddenly one of the door opened hardly make the two girls startled. They turn around and see a girl who is they talked about appear there, standing behind them with a deep glare in her eyes.

          “Song... Hyang?” said the girls in shock, their face suddenly change to blue. Their blood was drop to their toes.

          Hyant gives them her cynical smile and approach them slowly. She make the girl cornered to the mirror then lean her hand between them. She smirk to them coldly.

            “after knowing the rumor about me... you still dare to talking bad about me behind my back?” ask Hyang with a sarcastic tone make both of the girl lowering their gazes, not even dare to have an eyes contact with her.

           “are you guys not scare of me?.... are you... not afraid that I may kill you too? Like what you said about me....” add Hayng fix her gaze on their faces, looking on their faces alternately.

            “we.... we were wrong... please forgive us...” said the girl with a trembling voice. Hyang straightening her position and staring at them with a cold eyes.

         “go away...” she order them with a low but sharp voice.

        The two girls fastly dissapear from Hyang's sight, they run from the restroom to avoid her. They are so scare and shock when Hyang suddenly appear behind them morever she listened to everything. If they may see her on the road, they will definitely avoid her and never show their faces infront of her again.

         After the girls left, Hyang staring at her reflection on the mirror, she look at her face with a sad eyes. A figure of people talking behind her and avoid her are something familiar for her. There is a moment in the past when everyone keep avoiding her, the way they looking at her with a fear in their eyes is really something that glued in her memory.

           One day, her friends who were often play together with her in the past suddenly left when they saw her want to join them. Hyang then lowering her gazes and staring to the wastafel, gritting her teeth and sigh deeply. The feeling of being a lonely person without anyone care about her or didn't want to talk with her is really put her in a deep pain, being an isolated person after that tragedy happened.

         The next day, Shin was in the middle of his investigation and was driving around the street when his phone suddenly rang loudly. He answered the phone when his subordinates called him, the newcomer, Choi Min Ho.

           "Chief Kim! I found their hiding place,... I followed the target and he took me to their place..." said Min Ho explaining his reason for contacting Shin.

         "really? Where is it?" ask Shin immediately. 

         "I'm not sure yet... It seems like some kind of former factory in the forest, I can't find any location information here " Min Ho explained.

         "just stay still, never lose track of them, I will come there soon..."said Shin gave his orders.

         "yes chief!"Min Ho said before ending their phone call.

           After ending the phone call, Shin immediately made another call to the office.

          "detective Ha, track down Min Ho's location and lead me to find his position" said Shin giving Ha Dong Hoon aka Haha another order.

         "ne chief!"said detective Ha. 

          After calling Shin, Min Ho changes his focus again to the building. He took binoculars to observe the situation. From the device he could see that several people inside the building were talking together. He was sure they were all fighters judging by their large well-formed posture. He wasn't sure what they were talking about but he knew one of them was trying to explain something to the other. 

            The man pointed to the wall while talking to his friends. After a while, Min Ho sees that they are out of the building and heading to another place, he is sure that they are going to another old building not far from there. Min Ho then decides to go closer to the former factory. 

            The building was empty, Min Ho then took careful steps to enter the building.  He approached the wall where the man had pointed earlier hoping if he could find some clues about their plans. When he approached the wall, he could see a picture pierced with a knife hung on the wall. He found a picture of a girl alone there and another picture where she was with several people.

               It looks like the girl has a relationship with ACO's plan or maybe she could be the next target of them. Min Ho took a picture of the girl quickly and the corner of the paper photo was torn from the knife puncture, he put the picture in his inner pocket. After making sure that the picture was safe, he stepped into the next building to continue his investigation, but not until he could go any further, he had been surrounded by some big people.

           After a 15-minute drive, Shin finally reached the location where Min Ho was located with help from Haha. The sky was dark when he arrived. He Saw Min Ho's car and parked his car next to his. Min Ho is right, the place where he stands now is in the middle of the forest. 

           He then quickly searched the previously mentioned building. He picks up his phone and tries to call Min Ho's phone but he doesn't answer. Shin was able to find footprints on the ground, he then followed the trail and was sure he would meet Min Ho eventually. After walking into the forest for about 1 km, he was finally able to see the old building there. 

         The building looks empty and there is no trace of life there. He decides to call Min Ho again when he sees a car just leaving the building. He wanted to follow the car when he suddenly heard a loud explosion from inside the building. Within a second, the building had been covered in fire.

         "detective Choi!"shouts Shin ran in a hurry towards the building. He has a feeling that Min Ho must be inside the building.

          Shin kept running trying to find Min Ho as fast as he could, the fire started burning everything to ashes. The dark forest becomes bright with the light of fire. Shin kept calling Min Ho's name out loud but he couldn't find any feedback anywhere. 

          Finally, after he ran, he was able to find Min Ho's figure lying on the ground inside the burning building. Shin tried to enter the building but the burning wood had just fallen and covered the entrance. Without running out of ideas, he kicked the wood with his feet with all his might and made the wood crumble into two parts. Shin then enters the building and needs to be careful to avoid the fire. When he reached Min Ho, he bent his knees and shook his body.

       "detective Choi!" he call him. 

         Shin looked around and the fire already filled the building, the old roof dropping pieces of wood with fire on the ground. Before the situation got worse, Shin lifted Min Ho and carried him on his back. It was much harder to get out of the building when he was carrying another weight on his body but he tried his best to be able to escape.

          Finally, after his attempt to escape, Shin is able to take Min Ho out. Without waiting any longer, he rushed to his car. He had to run 1 km to reach his car but he had no time to rest and had to carry the unconscious Min Ho on his back as fast as he could. When he can finally reach the car, he drives at full speed to the hospital, trying his best to save Min Ho's life.

          The other members and the executive chief  were notified quickly when Shin reached the hospital. Now, they are all waiting outside to find out the condition of Min Ho who is in the operating room. Within five minutes, the doctor came out of the room and Shin quickly approached him.

        "how's his condition? Is he seriously injured?"asked Shin. 

          "I'm sorry... but he's been dead since he arrived at the hospital, from the examination, he died about 40 minutes ago."explained the doctor.

          "What do you mean?"Shin asked incredulously. 

               "I'm sorry, but he had so many serious injuries ib his head, and also, his rib was broken, it looks like he was injured in a big fight," the doctor added.

            "no... no... he can't die! You're a doctor! You have to save him!"shouted Shin took his collar and pulled the doctor closer to the angry face.

            "Shin-ah... calm down..."said Jae Suk approached him and pulled him away from the doctor, Gary and Haha need to help Jae suk to pull Shin away.

            "they killed him ..." Gary said in a low voice.

              "they killed him then set fire to the building to remove the evidence," Gary added.

           Shin's legs weakened hearing a sentence saying that his subordinates had died, he sat on the floor feeling desperate.

            "I shouldn't have told him to stay there..."Shin murmured in a sad voice.

            He felt that it was he who dragged the young man to death, if only he had not told him to continue waiting alone. If only he had come sooner maybe Min Ho wouldn't have died. He blames himself for making his subordinates die because of him.

            Min Ho is just a new people there, he shouldn't put him in a difficult position, he should protect him well. He shouldn't have let him die that easily. He is a smart and cheerful detective, he has a passion for being a good detective, Shin remembers when Min Ho told him that he wanted to be a detective like him. He is very determined with it and always does his best in his work, but he has to die so easily like that and Shin thinks that it's not fair to him.

            Shin started punching the floor with his hands, while the other members just silently looked at him with a sad expression, they had just lost their precious member.

            Min Ho's funeral was held immediately after his death. During the funeral, Shin kept staring at Min Ho's bright smile on his photo among the flowers.

           "mianhe... Min Ho-ah.... I should have saved you sooner... I won't let them go... I'll make sure to make them pay back what they've done to you... I have to do that... definitely " said Shin focusing his eyes on the photo with strong determination in his eyes and heart. He was absolutely determined to give those criminals the proper punishment at all costs.

          "Chief Kim! They found this in Min Ho's pocket."said Dong Hoon approached Shin and gave him a plastic bag with a photograph inside.

          Shin took the plastic bag and looked at the photo. His eyes opened widely when he saw who the person in the picture was, he couldn't believe it.

         "from the corner of this torn photo, I guess Min Ho tried to take it in a hurry and he hid it very well, does this mean that maybe she is the next target? Are they planning to kill her?" Haha made a guess on his analysis. He did not understand why the beautiful girl should be their target but he believed it was most likely that the girl was in danger after observing the condition of the picture .

          "Song Hyang...."Shin muttered as he focused on looking at the image he was holding in his hand and still couldn't believe the truth before him.
