Choosing His Path

Two days after the accident, the killer was finally arrested. No one ever imagined that the killer would be Park Se Hyuk. Shin barely punched Se Hyuk while the officer was attempting to transport him to the prison.

"You’re a jerk! Why did you kill my mother? Why? Why? Just because she saw your face, you killed her! You're a bastard! " Shin was exasperated while punching Se Hyuk until his nose and lip bled.

"Kim Shin, please be calm!" said officer Yoo Jae Suk approaches him and tries to pull Shin away from the criminal. But his strength is not comparable with Shin's. His body was pushed away by the professional fighter.

"Help me hold him!" commands Jae Suk to officer Gary and officer Haha.

Three of them finally pull Shin away and make the rest of the officers take Se Hyuk to the prison.

"Yak! Yak! Release me! I want to kill him! " Shin tries to rebel.

Jae Suk, Gary, and Haha hardly to keep their hands on the struggling body. Jae Suk gives a hint to Gary and Haha to take Shin to his room. Jae Suk is the chairman of the police force there. After they enter Jae Suk’s room, the three of them finally release Shin. The fighter kicked the table and screamed in frustration.

"Both of you can leave," said Jae Suk to Gary and Haha.

"Shin-ah, just calm please," said Jae Suk to him.

"I want to kill him with my own hand now!" said Shin, trying to escape, but Jae Suk prevented him.

"For the sake of your family, please be calm!" shouts Jae Suk, who can't hold his anger at Shin’s stubborn behavior.

"Please Shin-ah, we know that your mother wouldn't want to see you like this, nor will your father and Jae Hyin. Please..." said Jae Suk, begging. Shin stared at Jae Suk, then sighed deeply, trying to erase his anger.

"I’m sorry, hyung," said Shin in the end.

Shin's father is Jae Suk’s senior. Before Jae Suk became chairman there, Shin’s father was the previous chairman. Jae Suk knows Mr. Kim’s family so well. Jae Suk is also a junior in the army.

"It’s okay, I know how messy your mind is right now," said Jae Suk.

"Let's have a seat," adds Jae Suk. Shin followed Jae Suk’s command and sat down on the sofa with him.

"What will you do now? Will you fulfill your mother's last wish? To be a cop? "asked Jae Suk, initiating the conversation. Shin was just silent, not able to find an answer.

"I think you still need some time to think about it. Let's just come here again tomorrow," said Jae Suk. Shin nods and then stands up and prepares to leave.

He then said to Jong Kook, "Jong Kook-ah, for Se Hyuk, we will make sure that he gets the blame for his mistake. He will get his punishment. Just leave it to the law," said Jae Suk before Shin left.

The next day, after Shin was more calm, he decided to visit the police station again. He wants to meet Se Hyuk and ask about his reason for shooting his mother. Shin enters the building and goes straight to Jae Suk’s room to get his permission, but he can’t find Jae Suk in his office. He then visited the investigation room because he had a feeling that Jae Suk was investigating the case with his officer team. Shin just opened the door without knocking, making everyone in the room surprised with his sudden visit. Outside visitors are not permitted in the investigation room. But before no one could talk to Shin, his eyes caught the picture on the screen; the picture of Se Hyuk's dead body.

"What is that? What happened?" asked Shin of Jae Suk.

"Shin-ssi, it’s not your place here..." said Haha, trying to takeShin outside.

"I told you I wanted to kill him by myself! Why are you letting him just die like that? What was happening!?" shouted Shin.

"Officer Ha..." said Jae Suk, calmly telling Haha to let Shin come in. Haha did what Jae Suk said and let Shin go.

"Gary-ah, show the CCTV video to us again," said Jae Suk to Gary.

Gary played the CCTV video that they found around Se Hyuk’s prison. In the video, they saw a man wearing a mask entering Se Hyuk prison. He then woke Se Hyuk and opened his mask, but his body was showing his back to the CCTV. Se Hyuk can see his face, and he looks relieved to see the person in front of him.

After playing the CCTV video at Se Hyuk’s prison, Gary plays another CCTV video at a place far away from the police station. There is a black van stopped there. The masked man exit the car shortly after Se Hyuk. Se Hyuk seemed to say thanks to that man with a happy face, but then the man took a gun and shot Se Hyuk right in the head, causing Se Hyuk to die at that time. After he made sure that Se Hyuk had died, he entered the car and left the place.

"Who is he?" asked Shin, confused.

"We still don’t know. We checked the plat form, but we found the car on the exile. And the owner is unknown. It's an illegal car, " explains Jae Suk.

"From his relieved expression the first time he saw him, Se Hyuk must have known him, from his body's muscular figure, he must be some kind of fighter; do you know who he is?" Jae Suk tries to inquire with Shin.

"I don’t know, but... can you please replay the video outside?" asked Shin to Gary.

Gary replays the video again, and Shin watches the video carefully.

"Stop here!" said Shin when they reached the exact part.

"Look! I can see his tatto from his short sleeve. I think it seems similar to the tatto I saw on Se Hyuk before, " said Shin, unsure.

"Check it now! Is there any tatto from Se Hyuk’s body? " Ask Jae Suk to Haha.

Haha check out the image from Se Hyuk's autopsy then find the picture with the tattoo and give it to Jae Suk.

"Well, even his tattoo is covered, and we can see it a little in this video. I think this tattoo looks similar. " Jae Suk compared the picture with the video.

"Let’s me see..." said Shin. Jae Suk gives him the picture of Se Hyuk’s tattoo.

"A... C... O... what does it mean?" Shin wondered.

"If they put the same tattoo like this, I think they are not alone. They must have consisted of some people, right? And Se Hyuk joined them...." Shin made an assumption. Haha, Gary and Jae Suk nodded along with him.

"Hoksi (certainly) — did Se Hyuk get the command from that "ACO" to kill that person? Who is the person that he killed? Is he someone important? " Ask Shin.

"Yes, he is, he is a member of the cabinet minister, but we still didn’t find the reason why he was killed and their relationship," explains Haha.

"It’s strange... but I think for a reason that "ACO" was commanding Se Hyuk to kill him, but because Se Hyuk was caught, they also killed him..." said Shin, unsure.

"Why should they kill Se Hyuk?" Gary didn’t understand.

"Well,... I don’t know the exact reason why... but... maybe just maybe... they killed Se Hyuk to hide their true identity?" said Shin.

"Wow... they’re so cruel if they did that," said Gary.

"So... because they think Se Hyuk will reveal their identity to us then they killed him? " add Haha.

"Well, it’s just my assumption, Hyung, because Se Hyuk also killed my mother to hide the truth that he is the killer," said Shin with a sad voice.

"But I think your assumption makes sense," he added.

"Certainly, you're Chairman Kim's son. You're all detailed like him. It'll be great if you want to join the police force. Your skills will be of great help for the century like your father did," Jae Suk said with a smile.

Shin was silent after listening to Jae Suk’s words. For the first time, someone said that he looked like his father. Many people will say that he is completely opposite to his father. His father is a talented model policeman who helps many people, while he is a mess fighter who creates trouble.

"Did you decide it yet, Shin-ah?" asks Jae Suk, who can see what Shin is thinking about. Shin looked at him, unsure, before making another sound.

"I think... yes, I decide to join the cops," said Shin in the end.
