Be My Plus One

Lucas’s POV

“YOU BASTARD! DO YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH? HOW DARE YOU INVADE MY PRIVACY?” I roared into the phone. “How long has this been going on? Answer me, you bastard.”

“Okay, since it’s you, I won’t lie to you, cutie. I have been watching you for years, long enough to watch over you.”

“WHAT?”

He didn’t just stalk me back in school. He has been watching me for years. Every single move. Every private moment.

Is he really that obsessed?

“Are you angry? Please forgive me. I promise I did it because I missed you so much and I just wanted to see you.”

“GO TO HELL!”

I ended the call and tried to process everything, my hands shaking badly.

I shouted calling the security team right away. “Search the whole house thoroughly. Every single room, every corner. Find every camera and every bug planted. Do it now!”

They worked fast. Reports started coming in one after another. Cameras in the living room, kitchen, and hallway. Bugs are hidden in the vents, under the desk, and even inside the bathroom mirror cabinet. Twelve in total.

“That bastard,” I muttered under my breath and crushed one of the tiny devices in my fist until it cut into my skin and blood dripped.

My phone rang again. Alex called once more.

I answered, still breathing hard from the anger. “What now?”

“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice shaking badly. “I know I crossed every line. I don’t deserve you at all. But please let me fix this. I’m right outside. Let me see you. Just one minute.”

One of the guards knocked on the door. “Master Jun, Mr. Alex wishes to see you. He is waiting at the gate.”

I looked down at the broken camera pieces scattered on the floor. Anger, hurt, exhaustion—all of it mixed together inside me.

“Let him in.”

The door opened a minute later, and there he was, looking completely destroyed. His hair was wild and messy, his eyes red, and his countenance sad. He looks so miserable, and he deserves it. I will frustrate him and make him regret ever trying to spy on me. I hate the fact that he was still hot in that unfair way. Still the one person who could pull me apart with just a look.

“Everyone out,” I said sharply. The room cleared in seconds.

The door shut. Alex rushed straight to me and dropped to his knees right in front of me. His arms wrapped tightly around my waist, and he buried his face against my stomach like I was the only thing keeping him alive.

“Lucas,” he whispered in a broken voice. “I’m so sorry. I never wanted to hurt you like this. I just couldn’t stop myself. I needed to see you breathe, needed to know you were okay even when I couldn’t be there. Punish me….hit me…push me until you feel better. Just don’t shut me out. Please, cutie.”

I stared down at him. He looked completely gone…obsessed, crazy in love, on his knees like nothing else in the world mattered except me.

I raised my hand and slapped him hard across the face. His head snapped to the side, but he didn’t pull away. He just leaned into it.

“Do it again,” he said quietly. “I deserve it. Anything you want to do. Just forgive me.”

I slapped him harder. He groaned softly, not from pain but from something like relief, like my touch was the only thing he craved.

Then his pheromones hit me full force. Thick, dark, overwhelming S-class alpha scent rolling off him in waves, wrapping around me, sinking deep. My knees went weak. Heat exploded in my belly, fast and fierce. Slick started gathering between my thighs. The Veilshadow Serum felt useless against him.

I tried to push him away. “Stop,” I said, but my voice came out shaky and weak.

“I’m not doing it on purpose,” he rasped, looking up at me with wild, desperate eyes. “You make me lose all control, Lucas. I would give up everything just for you.”

My hips shifted forward a little without me meaning to, chasing more of his scent. Slick soaked through more. The heat was dragging me under fast.

I grabbed his collar and yanked him up until our faces were close.

“Then sign the deal,” I said through gritted teeth. “I will let this slide.”

“Done,” he answered right away. “I will bring my team to your office and will sign the deal with you. But I need you to come to a party my dad is organizing. As my plus one.”

I gripped his shirt tighter. “You have the guts to ask me that after spying on me for years?”

He looked at me softly, pleading. “Please. Just think of it as business. There will be lots of tycoons there. You can make deals and meet people who matter. It will help you and your family, after which we sign the deal.”

He was right, and I hated that he was.

“Fine, I will be your plus one and you better not play games with me,” I said.

“I won’t and I never break my words… Also I don’t spy on you for my pleasure, but soon you will find out things I have done for you.”

“I don’t care to know if you did good deeds for me or not. Leave already before I change my mind about attending the party.”

He leaned in slowly, his voice dropping to a whisper. “Can I kiss you before I go?”
