“Juliet.”

Syanna froze, book in hand and all, as Juliet blocked the way out.

Like Syanna, her eyes were wide in shock, as if she hadn’t expected to see Syanna here. Then, her eyes dropped to the book clung to Syanna’s chest, and her eyes widened even more.

“Syanna,” Juliet said, the shock evident in her voice. She cleared her throat. “What are you doing here?”

Syanna stayed quiet, simply staring at the girl she thought was her friend all this time.

Juliet cleared her throat again. “I see you’ve found the book. Where was it?” She let out a nervous laugh, but Syanna only shook her head.

“You know where,” Syanna mumbled. “You took it, after all.”

Juliet stiffened, and then her face glowed red under the dim moonlight.

“N-no I didnt,” she stuttered. “You’re mistaken.”

“Cut the bullshit, Juliet,” Syanna snapped, her anger finally blossoming. “You are nothing but a fake! You and the headmistress. I don’t know what you two are up to, but I want nothing to do with it.”
