Her hands shook as she pushed the cover of the briefcase back, still holding the flashlight in her mouth.

At first, Syanna was confused. All that was in the suitcase were packets of what seemed like candies. She took one from its holder and brought it to her nose. The scent of these ‘candies’ was familiar, but Syanna knew she hadn’t seen them before. Maybe Juliet liked them. Maybe they were her favourite snack.

But why would Juliet have a briefcase full of candy, with a combination being the date of Syanna’s arrival at Unici?

Heaving a sigh, Syanna held the flashlight in her hands so she could get a better look at a packet, and held it to her face so she could read what was scribbled on it.

“Huh, that’s odd,” Syanna mumbled, before grabbing the very first packet in the third row, since the other two rows were empty.
