Chapter 50

Something wasn’t right.

Syanna had been gone for twenty minutes, and even if she was doing a number two, she would’ve been back by now. Cole was sure of it.

His heart started to pound as he moved to the side of the room where the bathrooms were. He couldn’t very well just barge in there, but he had to know if she was in there. The hallway was dark, enhancing Cole’s fear that something bad was going to happen to Syanna even more.

He hadn’t told her that she was the sole purpose of this feeling of dread. But he didn’t want to scare her like how he was scared. For the first time since he knew himself, Cole was terrified of what might happen.

All this time when he only had himself to worry about, life had been simple. He didn’t care for death or danger, or what he might do that would yield consequences. But now, with Syanna, everything worried him.
