“How is this possible Lia? he is not supposed to remember.” She shouts as she struggles to break free from Dean’s arm, “is it because he is some royal highness?”
“This quite a brutal scene you have created little siren.”
“Do not call me that you bloodsucker let me go.”
She glares at him with her deep blue eyes, he had never submerged under the ocean but somehow, he felt like her eyes symbolized the beauty of that is under the sea.
“Ugh… let me go.” She struggles, before she swings her free hand, he knows this too well, he is not getting knocked out cold again, he catches her other hand.
“You should behave little siren, I just want to talk,” he says, “at least for now, first let us apologize for the incident this morning, and by us, I mean you.”
“Huh. How overconfident, let me go your highness, she might care about your status, but I do not I do not mind biting your head off right now.” She says shifting into her siren form, mesmerizing sight, her blue scales shined so beautifully, and her sharp teeth were quite beautiful.
“Huh that temper of yours will not get you anywhere little siren, you do know I am vampire, right?” he had calmly said, he knew he was stronger, she probably knew that too, he was not fazed by a short-tempered siren, “now let us sit and talk little Avisa.”
Honestly, he liked how her name felt when he pronounced it, he had a strange feeling ever since he met her this morning, her presence had always made him feel like a certain hole in his life was filled.
But Dean had been sidelined yet again, because the other girl had hit him in the head, again.
“Told you not to be too overconfident ‘little vampire’” she mocks him, and he hated it, he hated being mocked. “Even if you remember me, I don’t care, matter of fact I want your royal highness to remember being humiliated by me countless of times.”
He had watched her walk away proudly, she had aways walked so proud, he can deduce that but just watching her walk away once.
“Your Majesty”
“How dare she? She did not even try to wipe my memory this time.”
“At least your father didn’t see the scene you were in, he would have suspected you killed all those people.”
“Find her, I want her to pay for what she did tonight.”
He had never been humiliated like this before, well if we exclude all those times his stepmother dressed him up in wrong attires during royal balls, but she had the protection of his father so he could not retaliate.
Avisa sure had something coming her way, and it was not going to be a good thing, Dean would make sure of that, even if he had to abandon his throne.
Anne Arnold, one of the only few pure blood vampires left, her family had been close to his majesty the king for a long time, her mother even helped the late queen give birth to her son as a midwife, her family was the most trusted of all in the vampire world.
But that was not Anne’s biggest achievement, Anne’s biggest achievement was earning a title as a crown princess when the vassals chose her to be His majesty’s mate. Well, that was good until that damn mate mark Dean attained.
“Mother, we have a problem.”
After her meeting with Dean her next destination had been set already to her mother to talk of the new development that is Dean’s disappeared mark.
“He found her?”
“Found who?”
“His mate, he found her, must have been during this morning’s incident, but his majesty found his mate.”
“What? How? Merfolk do not come on shore often?”
Mrs. Arnold exclaims in anger, her daughter was the next queen, the Arnold family had coveted the throne for centuries and now that it is in reach some inferior fish is here to steal it.
“He is not taking it serious though, I think he is just happy that the mark is gone.”
Anne tries to console herself, but she clearly was annoyed but this new development, she is so close to her goal.
“But… what if his mate sought after him?”
“Don’t worry, mermaids are not so bright, we can easily manipulate her and lead her to her demise, have her choose you as his next mate like how the queen did.”
Though she sounded confident, she was far from that, she knew better than anyone Dean would not let anyone kill his mate so easily. But she already has a bulletproof plan, the Arnolds deserve the throne, and she will give them the throne.
She had worn a beautiful red dress symbolic to the precious nectar that is human blood, and all creatures alike give to them, her many jewels made Mrs. Arnold shakes with envy, her beautiful brown hair laid in the most wonderful way.
“I greet Her majesty the queen.”
Mrs. Arnold bows to the magnificent woman standing before her Penelope Stoker, the queen of vampires, or what she would like to call her plan B.
“What bring the most loyal vassal’s wife to me?” Penelope asks not looking at the bowing woman in front of her, but instead attending to the flowers in her flower garden.
“I have come to collect a favor.”
Mrs. Arnold speaks, and for the first time the proud queen flinched and frowned at Mrs. Arnold. Those who were at the garden with the queen had known the signal to leave the room, leaving the two women alone.
“What favor do you ask for?”
Penelope asks, though she acted to be very composed, her anger had leaked in the form of her brown eyes which were already changing into a crimson color as she turns into her vampire form.
But Mrs. Arnold did not flinch, she had already known she had the upper hand, she herself was a proud woman, though she did not have a higher status, she had the attitude.
“I remember her majesty asking a certain midwife to kill a current queen that was giving birth” she had said ever so nonchalantly, “I was that midwife, I am sure your majesty remember that.”
Good dayThank you so much for supporting me up until now. Writing this I learned a lot of things. Walking this long journey with me, through writer's block, broken laptop, restoring every story from scratch and all, I am happy that we are able to see Dean and Avisa's stor conclude. Thank you for the support and constructive feedback.Regards, MonarchTheFirst.
[Ophelia’s POV]The war had taken so much from us, but it also gave us a lot of lessons. When Avisa told me that she would be stepping down, I was not surprised at all.Avisa was not one to aspire to lead. For some reason, I felt like she had planned this all along. From the first day she declared that I was not just her second hand, I was her sister. She was going to give me the throne, and her leaving to see the world didn’t surprise me either. We had only lived in a secluded area of the sea, and Avisa was naturally curious. She wanted to see more than just the sea corals.“Your highness, someone is here to see you,” taking over as crown princess was not as challenging as Avisa had somewhat trained me to be so.Having to boss around Aran was just an icing on the cake, but the problem lies in him, the man that couldn’t stop visiting.“Your highness,” said Arnoux Crescent, the man who used his positi
[Avisa’s POV]The war was surely turning out to be too much. I could feel fatigued from the hours of fighting. I didn’t know when it would end, but I wanted it to end positively. I had seen them almost take my best friend and slash my father’s face.We fought a formidable opponent, and the cause of it all, the cause of Penelope Stoker, she had caused it all.I wanted her head, the head of the woman who took my mother, the woman who turned my mate into a sob story. She needed to be taken down, and maybe in my pursuit I got distracted. My father and Ophelia’s screams in union jolts me awake to a vampire behind me attacking me.It is Jordan’s stoker that takes the attack head on, taking all the damage. Dean immediately secures my back as Penelope is attacking me as well.I felt dazed, it seemed Mr. Stoker was taking his last breath, “Focus Avisa!" Dean screamed at me.“Your…... your father
[Ophelia’s POV]My aim was one thing: I had told Avisa already what I wanted, to kill my mother, for killing my father because of her insecurities.I wanted to see her face when I, the daughter she was so ashamed of her, killed her. I wanted to see her eyes when I disappointed her just when she took her last breath.I hated how she was rescued; they should have left her there so she could suffer, but at least she was helping us take care of the enemy.Getting closer to her was quite hard, but soon I was face to face with the woman that gave birth to me.“How does it feel, mother? Do you feel dumb now?” she clearly was not swallowing her pride because she attacked me as I spoke. But she was already weakened, and her slaps were very weak. Her nails couldn’t even scrape me.“This is what you get for being so stupid,” I repeated the words she had told me repeatedly when she would beat me up after Avisa
[Dean’s POV]The war started as quickly as Penelope arrived. We were clearly outnumbered, but one this is for sure they underestimated my little Avisa, because half of the vampires were charging. We were stopped by one scream from my Avisa alone.“What is that?” Arnoux said, pointing to a machine drawing blood, with someone hooked in the middle.“My mother,” Ophelia says, appearing next to him. He seemed startled when he saw her. “How pathetic, she probably thought they would treat her like a queen. Now she is just an endless blood supply. Kill her first.”Ophelia’s command comes as a shock to most. If that was her mother, why would she want her dead? She clearly looked at me, sensing my judgement.“What, she has already chosen her side? We need to stop more vampires from powering up, so she needs to be taken out.” She was firm and decisive, clearly not playing like a perfect daughter at a
[Avisa’s POV]In many tales of the first blood that she had read, and in all of them, her ancestors ended up in humiliation. If it was not for the sun and the sea, they wouldn’t have survived. This time she needs to change the reign, they need to end up victorious, they need to show the fury of a siren.“You look ready,” her father’s voice jolts her awake, “my daughter, whatever happens today, I will protect you and see to it that you survive.”He hugged her before giving her a kiss on the forehead. The best warriors of the sea were gathered. As confident as I was, I still fear the unknown.“Father,” I said softly, “I don’t want the throne.”Bold words to say before a war, but I felt like, with the ambiguity of this war, I needed to let my father know that I really had no dream of being a successor. He giggles softly, “I know, and I am okay with it. I made p
