Failing To Escape

Hezzin

I am an omega, but I have my own life to live, and I wasn't going to let any man dictate how it was going to be.

I ran away from home without blinking, and I was going to do it once more.

When we walked out of the dimly lit room, the cold stranger finally released my hand. Why? Because there was currently a large, slightly buffed man walking right behind me.

Thankfully, they didn't place a bag over my head or a blindfold.

Meaning I had a chance.

Walking on my own, I watched the auctioneer sweet talk the cold stronger. Even the guards that were walking around us seemed tense, I frowned.

I had a vague idea why they seemed scared, but it wasn't my business. Once I escaped I would like to see how they'd explain, of course while in their graves.

Without the bag on my head, I could see the layout of the building as we were led through a dark corridor.

Their shoes padded softly against the polished tiles. I was currently barefooted but the cool feeling from the tiles had me sighing in satisfaction.

Small lanterns lit the way, a faint smell of smoke and blood wafting through the air as we climbed up the stairs that probably led to the exit.

I wiped my sweaty palms against my dress, heart pounding violence with each step I took closer to the surface.

The passage led to a wide space, with four black cars parked a few feet away from us, and surrounding it was a long line of trees.

The sound of cricket's chirping and the hooting of howls filled the air, twinkling stars above us drew my attention the moment we stopped walking.

Two guards were standing beside each car, and altogether there were eight.

If I counted the guards that escorted us that would be a total of fifteen people.

Still, I didn't care. All I needed now was an opening.

I couldn't fight them all, but I was a fast runner and I had learnt how to hide my scent. It was how I was able to run away from home.

Once I escaped, I'd have to find a phone and try calling dad. He was the only one I could trust to take me back into the pack without drawing attention.

“Here.” The cold looking guy said, handing over another briefcase to the auctioneer. “One hundred million in cash, that's your balance.”

Hearing the amount, the heads of all the guards turned towards the case and I saw that as my chance.

Without hesitation, I summoned all the strength in my body, shoving the guard beside me and bolting towards the forest covered part of the area.

Gasps and groans erupted behind me as I ran, I didn't look back. I couldn't afford to at this point.

“She escaped!” Someone screamed.

Obviously.

“Don't let her get too far.” A cold looking guy muttered, sighing behind me.

My heart thudded against my ribcage, muscles burning as I ran through the trees.

To hell with Marcus and to hell with my ugly ass second mate. All I wanted was my freedom and returning back to my pack.

And so, I couldn't allow them to catch me.

I stumbled a few times as I ran through the forest, the darkness wasn't helping one bit.

A few vines from trees caught my dress, my bare feet digging into the wet soil. With each step I took, I could feel my legs trembling beneath me.

But I just pushed myself to keep running. I was tired, hungry and utterly scared. I shouldn't be worrying about this now, because the moment I stopped running, they might kill me.

I could hear the sound of their large boots padding against the floor as they ran after me. They were persistent, following me at every turn.

Tears blurred my vision at one point, I ducked past a tree. A loud growl echoing through the empty forest, signaling that a few of the guards had shifted.

There were many, and it didn't look like they were giving up soon.

‘Hezzin, let me out.’ I heard my wolf say in my head.

But she knew. We both knew I couldn't shift, no matter how hard I tried.

I heard a small snap from my left, making me pause. A large brown wolf jumped out of one of the bushes and directly at me.

My heart skipped a beat as I moved to the side instantly. I continued running and this time, I increased my pace.

I thought I could outright them, but looking at the large wolves behind me, it felt like they were secretly mocking me.

I mean, I was a fast runner!

“Stop running slut!” I heard someone shout behind me, his voice echoing through the forest.

The sound of footsteps against the soul was getting closer. For a moment, I stared up at the sky whilst running.

The moon hung low in the sky, its soft glow illuminated the dark forest slightly.

Looking up at it on a normal night would have made me happy, but now, it felt like I was being hunted down. Literally.

‘Moon goddess, all I want is freedom. To get away from the people that brought me nothing but pain, but why do you keep allowing them to win?’ I screamed inwardly.

All I and my wolf, Heather, wanted was someone who actually loved us. A mate, maybe even a child and a very happy me, but why was things turning out this way?

Why does the moon goddess have to be so cruel?!

It seemed like I had displeased the moon goddess in some way because at that moment, I felt something or someone grab onto the back of my dress.

I stumbled backwards, a small gasp leaving my mouth as I twisted my head around to stare at who had caught me.

“Did you really think you could run from us, you slut?” The warden snarled, his grip against the back of my dress tightened.

The fabric clung tightly around my neck, making it hard to breathe. I tried to slap his hands away, forcing myself forward to see if the fabric might rip.

But it didn't.

“Thank the moon goddess that you're the property of the Lycan King, else I would've sliced your head off your body.” The warden said coldly, making me flinch.

I felt a bit light headed, dark splotches forming in my vision.

At that point, the warden grip on my dress loosened slightly. I gasped, taking in a deep breath like someone that had just drowned.

But the breath had me coughing violently, my lungs burning slightly.

“Y-you, let go of me.” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

“Shut up!” The warden barked, his green eyes blazing with so much rage. I bit on my lower lip, stopping myself from saying anything else.

“Let's head back.” The warden commanded the guard's standing behind him. “And you, try one more thing. I dare you.”

He warned, pushing me forward. I steadied myself quickly, before I could fall. My eyes darted around the guards that had formed a circle around me.

I took a deep breath, wiping away my tears with the back of my hands.

Walking back to the side space was one of the most painful and disgraceful trails I had experienced in a while.

The intense glares and scoffs from the werewolves made me feel worse as we approached the car.

“Mr Dante, I'm so sorry about this. It was a mistake on our part and you got stressed tonight. Please, tamper justice with mercy.” The auctioneer hurriedly said, trying to calm the pissed ‘Mr. Dante’

“You all are lucky the king isn't here. If not, you'd all be dead” Dante muttered, running a hand through his hair.

The auctioneer and warden that had caught me both flinched, the auctioneer’s earlier flattery now replaced with a frown.

Once again, it made me wonder who this man was, but I had to worry about myself first.

Shifting his gaze away from the men, Mr. Dante turned to me. “Why do you look like that?”

What do you think?

“You look utterly unpresentable. You're even bleeding at that.” Mr. Dante muttered, his voice grew low at the last sentence.

“I-it takes time for her to heal.” The auctioneer said, his lips curling into a small smile.

Mr. Dante just nodded once, turning to one of the men in black standing behind him.

“Take her to the car.” He ordered, not bothering to check if they'd actually injured me.

“I don't want to go with you.” I said firmly, all eyes turning towards me in an instant.

“Oh?” Dante blurted and then nodded. “Carry her if you must, we don't have all day.”

The guard approached me with slow, daunting steps but I was too weak to even fight them off at this point.

With a sigh, I crossed the distance between us and he calmly led me towards one of the black cars.

Before I got it, I noticed they had laid a large cloth over the car's leathered seat. I looked at my dress that was covered in mud and ripped in different places before quietly climbing into the car.

If it were any other day, I would've killed myself and be done with it. But now, I was just exhausted and embarrassed.

Mr. Dante climbed into the car soon after, the door closed behind him with a soft thud.

The car roared to life, and soon we started moving, my heart dropped to my stomach as we passed through the thick forest.

Father. Mother…will I ever see them again?

A line tear slid down my eye, and I made to wipe it away, only to catch sight of the cold looking man or rather, Dante staring at me.

“Do you need something?” I asked calmly, wiping my cheek.

“I have good news for you.” He replied with a grin that made my heart skip a beat. “Colton heard what happened and trust me, he's going to get rid of that attitude once we get back.”

“Who is Colton?” I blurted, tilting my head to the side in confusion.

“Your master and the Lycan King of the North.” Dante shrugged.

Blood drained from my face as I allowed his words to settle in.

The Lycan King of the North?! Oh, this is definitely karma catching up with me.

  • Slave to the Lycan King    Moon Hybrid

Hezzin. Small gasps and whispers echoed through the hall and even I was shocked by his claims. Me? A moon hybrid? Was this some sort of joke or had Marcus lied to them about what kind of wolf I was. This wasn't the first time I’d heard about moon hybrids, I heard of them as a child. My mother talked about how she wished to actually see one in action. They were omegas who were sought out by Lycan King's and even a few Alpha's in times of war. I thought they didn't exist, so why was I being called one? I scoffed, I didn't want to get in trouble with the client when they found out I wasn't what the auctioneer claimed to be.I looked back at the crowd that had now turned restless, their gaze fixed solely on me and it made me take a step back. “We start the bidding price at two million dollars!” The auctioneer began. “Three million dollars!”“Four million dollars!”“Four million dollars, going once, going twice…” “Fifteen million dollars!!” A fat man seated just in front of the sta

  • Slave to the Lycan King    Second chance mate?!

HezzinMy hands beside my body curled into fists, fear crawling into my body slowly as I fought the urge to dash into that stage and find a way to escape. The pressure from the high ranking wolves has my omega wolf whining softly. I had to take deep, shaky breaths to calm myself. “Sold!” I heard the auctioneer say. “Let's go.” The guard placed his hand on my lower back, already leading me onto the stage. I need to escape, and it's now, because I refuse to be a slave to an arrogant wolf. I'd rather than let that happen, but before that, I'll make Marcus pay for doing this to me. Even if it's the last thing I do. As I came to stand beside the auctioneer, I felt cold sweat running down my back as I lifted my gaze to see the large crowd staring up at me. Their lecherous gazes trailing down my body. At first, I felt irritated but when my gaze landed on a man with a gold mask on. “Mate!” My wolf howled. The pull I felt after was faint, but undeniable. “Don't tell me…”“You aren't

HezzinTrusting and loving my mate had been the only mistake I made in this life. I was jolted awake by the sound of heavy boots thudding against the wooden floor. “Get your asses off the floor! It's time we get you all sold.” The warden yelled angrily, the groaning of a few female omegas filled the air as they pushed themselves to their feet. Not wanting to be left behind, I stood up from the cold floor, legs trembling, every muscle in my body ached at that one action. “Strip!” The male warden said once more, his words had me scoffing softly. Is this what I had been reduced to?Two weeks ago, I never imagined I'd be brought to a place like this. Two weeks had been a long time but still it didn't do anything to heal my broken heart, the cruel words of my mate were also a reminder of how foolish I had been.“We aren't destined to be together, Hezzin. So, I am sorry but we have to end this.” Marcus's words replayed in my ears numerous times, like someone had just given me a death s
