~ Emilia ~

I flipped through the last page of the magazine Ivy brought and nodded at the sight of the dress.

It was really beautiful and would suit me perfectly. The dress was deep red, fitted at the top with a low neckline, a slit down one side, and a grey fur detail around the neckline.

"This," I said, pointing at the dress, and handed the magazine back to her.

She stared at the page for a while and gave a flippant shrug.

"Ma'am, the Alpha suggests you go with a high-neck dress and not this.” She bowed.

“Really?” I hissed and then walked back to the bed.

“Just get the dress, Ivy, and change the neck to a high-neck one.” I ordered and lay down.

I was getting tired at intervals these few days, and I didn't know why it was so.

I gently shut my eyelids and heard my door slammed shut.

*******

“The Alpha is waiting, ma'am," Ivy announced, helping me apply the lip gloss on my lips.

“You need to hurry up, ma'am; Alpha Adrain isn't someone to keep waiting.” She said hurriedly.

I nodded all the while. Adrain was really dreaded by all, both in and out of the pack.

I hurriedly took a last glance at myself in the mirror and nodded in satisfaction.

Ivy really did a great job. The red gown complimented my porcelain skin and the red lip gloss Ivy applied on my lips. She packed my hair in a high, sleek ponytail.

I took the emerald purse she brought with the gown and headed downstairs.

I tightened my grip on the banister, carefully descending the stairs.

The house seemed quieter than usual, and no servant or guard was in sight.

“What took you so long?” Adrian's voice cut through the air.

“I don't have all day, Emilia.” He yelled.

I adjusted the fall of my dress with my fingers, forcing myself to keep my breathing steady.

“Not like I spent hours getting dressed.” I managed to answer.

Adrian's voice alone was filled with commands and would make you tremble whenever he yells. But I needed to keep my composure and not trample over his mere shouts.

He scoffed and rose from the couch. “Seriously, you didn't spend hours?” He started, already turning towards me.

His mouth stayed slightly open as his gaze rested on me. His eyes moved over me, from my hair to the dress and the purse and then down to the shoes.

And then he slowly looked away. “Next time, don't keep me waiting.” He concluded and headed to the door.

I hastened up my steps and followed him out.

********

We arrived at somewhere that looked almost like Moonblood. The entire surrounding was decorated with different animal furs and skins.

Adrain took my hand and walked straight into the building.

We walked past a hallway and arrived in front of a tall building. The building was directly opposite from the first one we passed. It looked modern and beautiful. It had wide glass doors, glowing with soft golden light; music was spilling faintly from the inside.

I tightened my fingers firmly around Adrian's, and he did the same.

We stepped in through the doors. And the air in the party seemed warmer than outside. The music became a bit louder, and the hall was filled with people.

Everyone turned to look at us and bowed at the sight of Adrain and me.

My chest tightened out of fear and nervousness, but I kept my face steady.

Adrain didn't look around much. He just walked like he already knew the place. We walked past people, and they moved out of the way without being asked.

Adrain held my hand tightly, and the warmth from his touch calmed me; it definitely did make me feel safer.

He then turned towards me when we got to the center of the hall. He gestured for me to sit, and I did.

“Stay here, Emilia, I will be back.” He said it and made to leave.

“What?” I blinked rapidly, unsure of what I just heard.

“I said you should stay here. I will be back.” He hissed.

“So, where exactly are you going to go?”

“Cut the crap, Emilia. Are you dumb?” He yelled, slamming his fist on the table.

I jerked backwards, lifting my body from the chair.

I stared around to find the piercing gaze of the audience.

“Why would you do that, Adrain?" I breathed in short gasps.

He glared at me before turning to the other side of the hall.

My gaze followed him as he walked into the crowd.

I hissed and then turned to find a bottle of whiskey on the table.

From what it seems, the alcohol was already consumed by someone.

I was practically getting confused on what to do and decided to take the drink. I took the first shot and gulped it down, then the second and third.

“You wouldn't want to get that tipsy.” A male voice laughed from behind before pulling the chair next to mine.

“I've been watching you for a while, little bunny.” He let out a croaky laugh.

I stared at him for a while. He didn't look bad anyway. His hair was a messy brown that suited his brown eyes.

“I don’t mind taking the shots for you.” He said, and that was when I perceived the stench of alcohol from his breath.

“You don't speak, little bunny.” He chortled.

“Just fuck off.” I said drowsily. My head, already spinning from the amount of whiskey I consumed.

He laughed like someone who has suddenly gone insane.

“Well, someone is here to see you.” He said and sat up from his chair.

I looked around in search of Adrian, but he was nowhere close. I wanted to get the hell out of here.

“Come, you have a guest.” The guy signaled.

I made up my mind to follow him since Adrain isn't here yet.

I pulled my chair back and made to stand but staggered backwards.

He helped me stand well and offered to help me walk.

I nodded and followed him out.

We left the party and walked down a narrow corridor before we finally arrived at a wooden door.

The door looked weary and old and he pushed it open. Its wood groaned in protest and we bent a little bit before entering the door.

The room was pitch black with no trace of light.

I turned to leave but a hand gripped me from behind.

“Where are you going?” A female voice laughed.

My body felt cold at that instance and I recognized the voice at once.

Light suddenly spilled from a lamp. And I turned to look at the faces in the room.

I was chilled to the bone seeing her there.

“Ava!” I exclaimed.

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    His Control Is Slipping

~ Emilia ~The bang I felt on my head when I woke up was massive.I smiled, remembering how Adrain carried me in his arms to my room and then tucked me into bed after I told him I felt sleepy. He really cared, though. He ensured the vase didn’t hit my head, not just once but thrice. How do you feel when someone you think doesn't love you suddenly starts to care? The feeling is reassuring, so reassuring that you would fall for him again.I rolled myself out of the bed and headed to the bathroom. When I came back to my room, my mind raced back to the event that played earlier. How could a vase drop from the servants' quarters not even once but three whole times?Something is off. I sat down on my bed and crossed my leg, looking up to the sky as the thoughts flew in.I saw the figure, at least from his neck down to his head. But they were all covered in a black mask; I couldn’t see his face. Why would someone throw off a vase without even checking if someone was there? Let's say the v

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    Someone Is Watching

~ Adrain ~I paced in my room, patiently waiting for Austin to arrive.“You called me." Austin bowed as soon as he stepped in."Earlier at the courtyard, did you make sure all the guards were present?" I stopped to face him.He tilted his head, then nodded."Yes, Alpha, I made sure they all left their quarters."“No," I shook my head. “They didn’t all leave their quarters.” I leaned closer.“Who then threw the glass?"“The glass?" Austin echoed, confused.“Yes, the vase. Not just once or even twice, but thrice. Three fucking times." I made the sign with my hands for clearer understanding.Austin still looked confused, and then I knew I needed to explain.“After addressing the guards, I was leaving and then bumped into Emilia, and next thing, a vase fell from the servant quarters almost hitting her.” I paused.Austin's expression was unreadable, but a mix of shock and confusion was written all over him.“I pulled her out the first time, the second, and the third time." I clenched my fi

He called and grabbed my hand, pulling me close to him.My body fell into his, like my right hand.on his chest.“Arghhhh." I screamed as the glass fell the second time, shattering on the floor inches before me.I rested my head on his chest and shut my eyes tightly. The glass would have shattered on my head if not for Adrain.I opened my eyes and raised my head to look at him, and our eyes met.'No,' I screamed in my head. Don't fall for this Emilia. He just wanted to save you, not because you are special. It’s still the same thing he would have done for anyone that stood there.I disentangled from his hold."Thanks," I muttered and turned to leave when his voice stopped me."Just wait, Emilia.”I stopped in my tracks without turning to face him.He walked up to me and held my shoulders.“You are upset with me, Emilia.” He started.I stood still, not even movin

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    The Alpha's Cruelty

~ Emilia ~ I watched Adrain leave and shook my head in disgust. Adrain isn't even worth my love. But wasn’t I even a fool for falling for someone who made it clear in the first place that our marriage was just for paper's sake and nothing else attached to it? But something off was going on in this pack. I have overheard Austin complaining about a curse and the death of someone. I hissed; it shouldn’t be any of my business though. The pack's affairs aren't meant to be bothering me. My next plan was finding out more about Charlotte and how she is anyway, Ava. I looked at the drawing and made up my mind not to continue with it or even look at it ever again. I needed to concentrate on my well-being till the marriage days elapse, and I would leave just as he said. I folded back the half-painted drawing, including the box of instruments I needed for the drawing, and headed outside to trash it. I didn’t want to trash it anywhere close because looking at it might make me wa

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    I Was Never The One

~ Emilia ~I had waited up almost all night waiting for Adrain. But he didn’t show up.I was a bit confused on why I was actually waiting for him, not like he cared about me, though. We weren’t even married as normal couples. It was just a contract marriage that would last for a few days.“I don’t think he is going to show up, ma'am. " His beta Austin bowed after watching me pacing up and down in the living room for hours."It's fine, Austin. Not necessarily waiting for him, though. I just couldn’t sleep.”Adrain moved towards the door. “Alpha mentioned he wouldn’t be home early, so I think you should just go in and sleep." He said and left."My goodness," I exhaled. Why was I even waiting for someone who didn't know I was waiting for him?I sighed heavily and went up to my room.I tossed on my bed, trying to sleep, but I couldn’t.I rose from the bed and decided to still wait for him a little while.I came back to the living room and sat down; my mind raced with thoughts as I stared
