~ Ava ~

I stared at my long brunette hair in the mirror and smilled, seeing it complimented with my brown eyes.

I brushed my hair backwards and packed it in a low ponytail. I made sure to use Emilia's favourite lip gloss— a nude coloured one.

I nodded, satisfied at what I looked like.

“You look so good Ava.” Mum giggled seeing me approach the stairs.

She turned to my father who was sitting next to her.

"I told you Greg, Ava is going to represent better than Emilia.” She said in excitement.

“Oh yes, Ava has been my lovely daughter." He smiled.

I was glad the attention I was drawing to myself. I want to be the queen of this household.

“Here Ava" my dad said, handing me a big brown envelope.

“They are the files you need. Everything you need is already in there. Please represent us well.”

“It's okay dad, you can count on me." I said and watched him smile in triumph.

I folded the documents and squeezed them into my bag and headed outside.

“Good luck baby." I heard my mothers distant voice as I shut the door.

I walked into the waiting SUV as we drove off.

**********

“Miss." The secretary called.

I raised my head to face her and she signaled me to go in.

I took the long hallway that led to Adrains office and read the inscription on it. ‘Adrain Wolfbourne’ the inscription was written in a well slated golden tag and the word ‘CEO’ was written under it.

I knocked on the door but was interrupted by his cold voice.

“Come on in."

I walked into the office and was baffled to find out it looked so big.

Well, you need not be told the office belonged to a werewolf.

Adrain was seated on a high arm chair, facing his back on me. My fingers became unsteady and I held my bag firmly. This was the third time I’m seeing Alpha Adrain in person.

First was when he had signed a deal with dad. Second, when he took Emilia to his pack and then now.

‘Was I really ready for this?’ I questioned myself. ‘Does this risk worth it?.’

I affirmed myself it did.

“Miss Charlotte Everton, sit."

I froze at the mention of that name as I nodded my head without uttering a word.

“Adrain Wolfbourne." I managed to mutter, with every last shred of courage.

He chuckled dryly.

I could hear the sound of his hands lighting a cigarette. The smoke from it left his mouth and suddenly spread in the atmosphere.

“Goodness." I exclaimed, coughing out loudly.

He paused in his seat. “You loved taking cigarette charlote." He swung his chair to face me.

I immediately bowed my head. “People change you know." I shrugged almost indifferently.

Fuck it. If he gets to find out about my identity, then I’m done.

He laughed out loudly and swung the chair to the other side, turning his back on me.

“Old ways don’t get changed easily."

“So why your sudden dissapearance?" He asked.

I adjusted my cap a little, and braced up my shoulder.

“My father's pack was destroyed and like you know, my mother died years ago before the war.” I said with every ounce of confidence.

"I see.” He intoned then sat up from his chair and walked towards me.

He came to stand beside me, then dipped his hands in his pocket.

“The files." He stretched his hands.

I opened my bag and pulled the envelope dad gave me and placed it on his outstretched hands.

He collected it and nodded, then tossed it on his table.

"You’ve changed so much Charlotte.” He smiled and stared down at me.

The air tightened as his breath fanned my face.

He used the tip of his nose to graze my cheek.

“Six years now Charlotte, it's six years.” He choked, tears burning in his eyes.

I shut my eyes tightly, my mind clouded with emotions.

The dreaded Alpha Adrain of the Moonblood pack was almost shedding tears at the sight of his supposed childhood sweetheart.

I was really good at acting and mum saw this as an opportunity after finding out I looked like her.

I swallowed, then forced my eyes open.

He sniffled, and headed back to his seat, wiping the droplets of tears that trickled down his cheeks.

“Get out Charlotte." He cried, stamping his feet on the floor.

I smiled, satisfied at the impact my presence made.

"You can’t send me away that way Adrain It’s………”

" Shut up Charlotte and get the hell out now.” He yelled and bowed his head, the sound of his sobbing echoed in his office.

I laughed within and turned to the door, slamming it shut behind me.

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    His Control Is Slipping

~ Emilia ~The bang I felt on my head when I woke up was massive.I smiled, remembering how Adrain carried me in his arms to my room and then tucked me into bed after I told him I felt sleepy. He really cared, though. He ensured the vase didn’t hit my head, not just once but thrice. How do you feel when someone you think doesn't love you suddenly starts to care? The feeling is reassuring, so reassuring that you would fall for him again.I rolled myself out of the bed and headed to the bathroom. When I came back to my room, my mind raced back to the event that played earlier. How could a vase drop from the servants' quarters not even once but three whole times?Something is off. I sat down on my bed and crossed my leg, looking up to the sky as the thoughts flew in.I saw the figure, at least from his neck down to his head. But they were all covered in a black mask; I couldn’t see his face. Why would someone throw off a vase without even checking if someone was there? Let's say the v

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    Someone Is Watching

~ Adrain ~I paced in my room, patiently waiting for Austin to arrive.“You called me." Austin bowed as soon as he stepped in."Earlier at the courtyard, did you make sure all the guards were present?" I stopped to face him.He tilted his head, then nodded."Yes, Alpha, I made sure they all left their quarters."“No," I shook my head. “They didn’t all leave their quarters.” I leaned closer.“Who then threw the glass?"“The glass?" Austin echoed, confused.“Yes, the vase. Not just once or even twice, but thrice. Three fucking times." I made the sign with my hands for clearer understanding.Austin still looked confused, and then I knew I needed to explain.“After addressing the guards, I was leaving and then bumped into Emilia, and next thing, a vase fell from the servant quarters almost hitting her.” I paused.Austin's expression was unreadable, but a mix of shock and confusion was written all over him.“I pulled her out the first time, the second, and the third time." I clenched my fi

~ Emilia ~I grunted deep and pushed him off my body.“I didn’t ask for your help. " I eyed him and turned to go."Emilia." He called and grabbed my hand, pulling me close to him.My body fell into his, like my right hand.on his chest.“Arghhhh." I screamed as the glass fell the second time, shattering on the floor inches before me.I rested my head on his chest and shut my eyes tightly. The glass would have shattered on my head if not for Adrain.I opened my eyes and raised my head to look at him, and our eyes met.'No,' I screamed in my head. Don't fall for this Emilia. He just wanted to save you, not because you are special. It’s still the same thing he would have done for anyone that stood there.I disentangled from his hold."Thanks," I muttered and turned to leave when his voice stopped me."Just wait, Emilia.”I stopped in my tracks without turning to face him.He walked up to me and held my shoulders.“You are upset with me, Emilia.” He started.I stood still, not even movin

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    The Alpha's Cruelty

~ Emilia ~ I watched Adrain leave and shook my head in disgust. Adrain isn't even worth my love. But wasn’t I even a fool for falling for someone who made it clear in the first place that our marriage was just for paper's sake and nothing else attached to it? But something off was going on in this pack. I have overheard Austin complaining about a curse and the death of someone. I hissed; it shouldn’t be any of my business though. The pack's affairs aren't meant to be bothering me. My next plan was finding out more about Charlotte and how she is anyway, Ava. I looked at the drawing and made up my mind not to continue with it or even look at it ever again. I needed to concentrate on my well-being till the marriage days elapse, and I would leave just as he said. I folded back the half-painted drawing, including the box of instruments I needed for the drawing, and headed outside to trash it. I didn’t want to trash it anywhere close because looking at it might make me wa

Though she confirmed she knew her.But how?I sprang up from the bed, recalling she had a cut on her palm while trying to save herself.I took my phone from the bedside table and scrolled through, searching for her number.Shit! I didn’t have her contact; we communicated through letters just as she requested.I climbed down from my bed and headed to the bathroom when I felt a heavier bang on my head.I walked back to my bed and sat down.“My goodness,” I exclaimed. The incident of last night slammed into me. And I clenched my fist. What did I just do? Tried to be intimate with Emilia and even mistook her for Charlotte, mentioning Charlotte's name at that point.Emilia's face played on my head. Though I was drunk, I could recall how tear

  • Sold To The Alpha, Now I'm A Werewolf    I Was Never The One

~ Emilia ~I had waited up almost all night waiting for Adrain. But he didn’t show up.I was a bit confused on why I was actually waiting for him, not like he cared about me, though. We weren’t even married as normal couples. It was just a contract marriage that would last for a few days.“I don’t think he is going to show up, ma'am. " His beta Austin bowed after watching me pacing up and down in the living room for hours."It's fine, Austin. Not necessarily waiting for him, though. I just couldn’t sleep.”Adrain moved towards the door. “Alpha mentioned he wouldn’t be home early, so I think you should just go in and sleep." He said and left."My goodness," I exhaled. Why was I even waiting for someone who didn't know I was waiting for him?I sighed heavily and went up to my room.I tossed on my bed, trying to sleep, but I couldn’t.I rose from the bed and decided to still wait for him a little while.I came back to the living room and sat down; my mind raced with thoughts as I stared
