Falling For A Danger

I stared hard at the painting that hung on the wall. It was really beautiful and seemed like a different world.

My face lit up, realizing I wasn’t thrown into a dungeon or prison yet.

The room Adrain gave me was very beautiful.

My room at my fathers place was nothing compared to it.

I slumped on the bed, my mind racing with thoughts.

Whatever comes next, I just needed to enjoy this luxury while its last cause fate was yet to decide if he was going to get me killed or locked up in his prison.

I had slept all through and woken up this evening and decided to take my shower. I slid into my night wear and decided to take another nap when my room door flew open.

It was Adrain. The air tightened as he walked in.

I rose from the bed and sat down.

“Alpha Adrain." I called.

He gently closed the door behind him before making his way towards me.

He stood before me and crossed his hands behind his back while his eyes rested on me.

“You shouldn’t walk into someone's room without knocking Alpha. As the leader of a pack, you should apply simple courtesy so your subjects follow your steps or don’t you think so?” I asked and crossed my arms in my chest.

His face was mixed with a glint of surprise and excitement.

"I love to hear you speak." He purred. “I’m an Alpha king, Emilia, so it isn’t necessary that I do that.’

"You think so?” I hissed.

" This is a female room. You don’t barge in without knocking. She might be dressing up or something.”

He chortled and stepped closer.

“You are my wife now Emilia,” he leaned forward. "I can walk into my wife's room whenever and however I feel.” He concluded and his gaze slowly dropped to my chest.

I adjusted, facing the other side of the room.

I could feel his breath fanning my hair.

“Perfect shape for a wife.” He whispered into my ear then backed away.

I turned to face him again and his pressing gaze made my entire body shake. I have never felt this way for any one before.

My body was already responding to his mere looks and presence.

“So why are you here, Alpha Adrain?" I decided to speak to lift his gaze on my body, and it did help.

His gaze returned to my face.

“I came to let you know about your role in the pack now. You are my wife and Luna of this pack for paper sake only.” He said and swallowed hard.

"You are a human mate. And for a first, I don’t like humans.” He spat.

I bit down on my lower lips in anger. I hated it when he talked about humans like they were nothing.

“You are going to accompany me to important meetings and occasions, avoid unnecessary talks with other wolves and mind your business.”

I nodded, still not placing my hands on where the information was heading to. Whatever he was listing out was stated in the documents earlier and I knew about them already.

“Ivy is going to come help you make a pick. I’m going for an important occasion tomorrow, and I would like you to go with me. You have to dress your best as my Luna.”

“Okay." I muttered.

“And while you are making a pick, do not go with a cloak or dress with a low neck. Get yourself covered, especially your upper back.”

I nodded slowly, another person to tell me how disgusting and shameful the mark looked but indirectly.

I have always hated myself and ashamed of the mark. Ava always made sure she makes jest of me for having some unknown mark on my back, calling me a witch and an unfortunate child.

“What if I decide not to wear a cloth that covers my upper back?" I frowned.

Adrain grunted. "Don’t you dare Emilia.” He clenched his fist tightly.

"You don’t go contrary to the words of an Alpha. You better do as I say.”

"And what if I……"

“Just shut up!" He barked at me.

His voice cut through me like a broken glass, and I clenched my jaw, forcing the next words down.

He starred at me in fury.

And it then dawned on me I will forever be hated.

The damn mark has cost me alot. Being rejected by people I love. And now Adrain, my contractful husband that I was already falling for.

But isn’t it insane? Falling for someone who will eventually discard this fucking marriage in thirty days time.

I was being stupid and I accept it. But atleast someone should just opt to care for me in this world.

“Ring the alarm once you are ready to make your pick and Ivy will come help you.” He finalised and headed towards the door.

He then turned on his heels and walked towards me.

“Aren’t you dressing sexy for someone who dosen’t have a lover?” He drawled, starring at my nightie.

I hitched my breath and stared down at the pink fabric short I wore and a pink sleeveless top I wore to it.

My mouth fell open, but no word came out of it.

“Wolf got your tongue?" He laughed.

" Well, the nightie is actually perfect for you. “ He sucked on his bottom lip.

He backed away and headed to the door.

“Good night wifey." He laughed and shut the door behind him.

I heaved in relief watching him leave.

What was Adrain trying to do?

Making me fall for him and leaving me heartbroken the next second?
