Chapter 6

After a long and exhausting overnight journey, Irene and the old woman who accompanied her finally arrived at a not so large two story house. Irene stepped out of the car slowly and looked around at the surroundings, which were filled with dwellings. It was a stark contrast to the place where she had been confined, where all she could see were trees and chirping birds.

"Come in," the old woman invited Irene.

Irene glanced around and understood that the place was quiet because they had arrived in the early hours of the morning. It was only natural that there weren't many people passing by.

Irene entered the house that she believed belonged to the old woman. The woman then directed Irene to a closed door and stopped in front of it. For a moment, Irene looked puzzled.

"Take a bath and clean yourself first. The towels are inside, under the drawer. You can use the clean ones," the old woman said.

Irene blinked for a moment and then nodded in understanding. As Irene entered the bathroom, th
