Chapter 1

Thousands of tree branches towered to varying heights above the mounds of earth that formed several beautiful hills. The wind blew quite strongly, causing some trees to move in the same direction and then return to their original position as if nothing had happened. The chirping of birds resounded, as if answering each other's song. Such a forest view had become a common thing for a 20-year-old woman named Irene Chamomile. Her eyes were still and fixed for quite some time. Occasionally, she caught sight of a bird flying and perching behind a tree in front of her. The heat of the sun would not hinder her desire to enjoy the atmosphere that she had been enjoying for the past few months.Since her arrival at the house on top of the hill, there wasn't much for Irene to do. In her free time, she could only spend it gazing at the same view every day. She couldn't even find a reason to feel bored because Irene had to keep looking at it, even if she didn't want to see it."It would be nice if

Chapter 2

After finishing all the dishes that had been served by the servants at the Alpha's residence, Irene promptly left the place and went away. Two servants who were also werewolves immediately cleaned up Irene's leftover food and the utensils she had used earlier. One of the female servants, who had been staring at Irene since she started eating her meal, hissed while cleaning up Irene's messy leftovers."Why do humans never finish their food until it's clean? Are they used to leaving food like this?" Maya complained as she piled up all the empty plates and glasses. The female werewolf who led the servants, and always reminded Irene to eat, could only remain silent and not comment. She continued to listen to Maya's noisy complaints.Suddenly, Maya growled and placed the glass on top of the neatly arranged bowls with enough force. Her fangs suddenly appeared, and her eyes shone sharply towards the second floor, where Irene's room was located."She should know her place since she is only Mr

The loud moaning sound made Irene stop in her tracks, but it didn't deter her from her intention to leave the room. Irene kept approaching Adam's bed in the middle of the room while focusing her gaze on the poorly lit area. Irene's gaze fixed on Adam, who was fast asleep with a blanket covering half of his body. Adam's upper body was exposed, and Irene knew that he didn't like to sleep in a t-shirt.Adam seemed restless in his sleep, and it made Irene curious as she approached the sleeping man. Irene couldn't deny that Adam looked handsome when he was asleep, and even when he was staring at her. His sharp nose, green eyes, and always-red lips never failed to make Irene's heart race when she looked at him.Even when he was asleep and not looking at her, Irene's heart always beat fast. Especially when Adam spoke to her with his low, baritone voice that sounded tempting."Why am I imagining the nights I spent with him in bed? Oh my God! Erase those dirty thoughts, Irene!" Irene shook her

With puffy and half-awake eyes, Irene left her room and walked towards the dining room after Melanie knocked on her door several times to wake her up, citing that Adam wanted to have breakfast with her. Irene felt so lazy to meet Adam, especially after his words last night that made her feel even lower about herself. For Irene, she felt that her self-worth had disappeared ever since Matthew, her stepfather, sold her to Adam.Upon arriving at the dining room, Irene was immediately faced with a cold and silent atmosphere. Melanie, Vera, and Maya were all standing in the corner of the room with their hands clasped and their heads bowed. "Sit." Adam commanded in a cold voice.Irene remained silent and didn't move immediately as Adam had instructed. Eventually, Adam, who had been busy cutting his medium-well steak, placed his knife and fork down so forcefully that they made a loud clatter, startling Irene and the other three servants. "Didn't you hear what I said earlier? Sit." Adam repe

Irene continued running without stopping and felt her legs going numb and numb, even though she knew her legs were not in good condition. Various wounds started covering her legs, where each step now weakened them, but not her spirit, which yearned for freedom."Shouldn't he have realized I left since this morning? Am I lucky or did he purposely let me go because he's fed up with me?" Irene mumbled in her heart as she realized that neither Adam nor the servants had found her. This also put Irene in a better position because she could keep running away from a place that felt like hell to her, where humans were not something beautiful. Humans were merely used as tools for werewolves to achieve their status, and that's what made Irene feel disgusted and resentful.Gasping for breath, Irene continued running through the forest, and without her realizing it, the sun had set. She had no idea how long she had been running in the same place, feeling like she was going in circles without an en

Chapter 6

After a long and exhausting overnight journey, Irene and the old woman who accompanied her finally arrived at a not so large two story house. Irene stepped out of the car slowly and looked around at the surroundings, which were filled with dwellings. It was a stark contrast to the place where she had been confined, where all she could see were trees and chirping birds."Come in," the old woman invited Irene.Irene glanced around and understood that the place was quiet because they had arrived in the early hours of the morning. It was only natural that there weren't many people passing by.Irene entered the house that she believed belonged to the old woman. The woman then directed Irene to a closed door and stopped in front of it. For a moment, Irene looked puzzled."Take a bath and clean yourself first. The towels are inside, under the drawer. You can use the clean ones," the old woman said.Irene blinked for a moment and then nodded in understanding. As Irene entered the bathroom, th

Chapter 7

The bright morning felt different than usual for Irene, who had just woken up in a different place than she was used to. Somehow, her feelings had changed to a sense of joy after being liberated from the shackles of Adam that had constrained her for so long.Irene felt as if her lungs could breathe more freely after experiencing all the freedom she had longed for. Though Irene couldn't deny that Adam had also saved her from her father, who heartlessly sold her on her birthday just for a sum of money to do despicable things. But Irene's thoughts changed as she got to know Adam better over the past year. Everything was different, and what she had yearned for wasn't what she had expected. While Irene was fortunate that she wasn't sacrificed for Adam's purposes, giving birth to a werewolf child also put her precious life at risk.Knock! Knock! Knock! The sound of a knock on the door suddenly snapped Irene out of her reverie about the suffering she had endured all this time. Although she w

The atmosphere of the hospital, filled with people from various backgrounds, both amazed and frightened Irene. She was amazed by the sheer number of people queuing up at the healthcare facility. At the same time, her fear was rising along with the fear of Adam's appearance in that place."Adam won't come here, will he? He's the one who avoids crowds the most," Irene murmured in her heart.Magdalena, who had been sitting beside her, waiting for Irene's turn to see the doctor, turned towards Irene and looked at her intently."Irene, are you still feeling nauseous?" Magdalena asked again.Irene shook her head. "No, I'm not anymore, Mother," Irene replied.A nurse who had just come out of the doctor's room with a patient who had just finished being examined by the doctor seemed to be checking her notes to call the next person in line.Magdalena also seemed to be paying attention, her ears perked up to hear the next patient being called."The next patient... Irene," she said.Magdalena imm

Chapter 9

"Miss Irene... Congratulations on your pregnancy," said a smiling doctor to Irene, showing off her neatly arranged white teeth.Irene's world felt like it crumbled in an instant upon hearing it. She didn't know what she should feel now. Happy? Sad? Or what? Irene couldn't be certain. What was clear, though, was that she couldn't even respond with words. Her facial expression couldn't convey the current state of her emotions."Is that true, Doctor? How far along is her pregnancy?" asked Magdalena, who seemed enthusiastic and proud of Irene's pregnancy.Irene turned her gaze towards Magdalena, looking at her face radiating pride towards Irene. Magdalena even went on to inquire about the age of Irene's pregnancy."It's been four weeks already, Ma'am," the female doctor said to Magdalena.Magdalena looked at Irene and exchanged a look with her. Irene herself didn't know how to respond. When Irene found out that her pregnancy was four weeks along, she recalled the night she spent with Adam

Chapter 10

Meanwhile, on the other side...A man with a cold face and hardened jaw appeared lost in thought as he stared at the towering trees in front of him. As far as the eye could see, only the greenery from the leaves filled the scenery.Amid his silence, he was actually contemplating various matters in his mind, including Irene's reasons for leaving him abruptly without a trace."Was I too harsh on her that she left me without any word? It's been over four days now, and she still hasn't shown any sign of her whereabouts," he mused to himself. In fact, right when Irene left, Adam saw her injured foot quite clearly. For some reason, that sight triggered a surge of guilt within him. Perhaps that's why Adam allowed Irene to board a black car that drove her away.Adam cursed himself for letting Irene go, his gaze fixed on the departing car in the middle of the road, as rain began to fall, soaking his fur."I have to get her back..." Adam muttered, clenching his fist unconsciously.Suddenly, a m
