Chapter Twelve

Now that his men already have to item with them, Alaska don’t bother to hide or pretend anymore. Jefrey instantly brought out his hidden gun pointing the gun directly to Vito.

“Impotent Rain, I know you cannot just come here without a reason” 

Vito wasn’t disappointed at all. Though he was not ready for the surprise but he was never unprepared. The guards were ready to shot at any time. The gunshot from outside keeps sounding, Ariel almost faint with each sound of gunshots.

Since Vito’s men were not prepare for the sudden ambush, they were overcome by Alaska’s men as some of them were already taken care of secretly before they get to know what was happening. 

Vito knew Alaska is too dangerous and he knew how brutal he is, since he was not so prepared, he knew he could only use Ariel has shed for himself. And moreover, if he did not open the closed doors by himself no one will be able to leave the room alive. 

There were just five of Vito’s men who were able to rush in when he sent the signal before the doors got locked by themselves, others were outside dealing with Alaska’s men. Vito knew that even with those five men, they were not capable to take Jefrey alone down talk of Alaska. He himself is not a feat for Alaska which is why he has always competed with him. 

He felt scared because Alaska had not come to him like that before, Alaska had always seen him as a brother because they grew up together but he had always seen Alaska as a competitor and an enemy. 

Vito quickly signals to his men wanting to distract Alaska. 

The men started to shoot, before some minutes, the five men were already down, Jefrey had killed them. With that Vito had escaped to the second floor with Ariel, looking at the dead bodies in their bloods Ariel looks so petrified.

Alaska was still calmly sitting in the same position. 

“Impotent Rain, you have to kill her before you kill me” Vito tells him, his pistol to Ariel’s head. Ariel froze; her heart seems to have stop beating.

Knowing Vito’s intention, Alaska looks furious but he knew he cannot act rashly with Vito taking Ariel as hostage. 

Though Vito was unprepared but he cannot also be caught unaware, he presses something on his phone and immediately the roof of the place was opened. His men start to get into the room with ropes. 

Alaska feels frustrated with the mission dragging out, if it were not because of Ariel. He would have left with Jefrey, but he knew he could not leave without her. He was there to take her back personally since he used her for his mission.

Alaska and Jefrey fought like wolves as Vito’s men kept dropping, they were quick, precise and brutal. When Vito knew his men had taken over, he tries to escape with Ariel. But Alaska saw through him.

“Take care of them” Alaska tells Jefrey and uses the ropes to get to the second floor like an action film before Vito could escape with Ariel. 

“Where did you think you are going with my item?” Alaska asking pointing gun at Vito to stop him. 

Vito also points his gun to Ariel who was already so scared for her life.

Alaska tactically moves towards Vito trying to get Ariel from him.

“One more step and she dies” Vito spat.

Alaska paused. 

Alaska knew Vito, he could really shoot Ariel.

“She is yours. Do what you want with her” Alaska’s voice cold as ice. Ariel’s face broke, she could not believe him. Even Vito blinked, he wanted to use Ariel to threaten Alaska but it’s seemed not to be working. 

“You mean it?” Vito sneered. 

“Retreat” he tells Alaska. Since he asks him to do what he likes.

 Alaska step back but his eyes never leaving Ariel.

Vito laughed, Alaska is never a person to back down nor do what anyone tells him, but because of Ariel he was backing down. That was what Vito thought but before he could know what was happening, his hand holding the gun was hit with gunshot from Alaska, he was swift. 

Vito’s gun drops, he let out a terrifying shout. Ariel gets shocked and almost fall with the sudden gunshot but Alaska quickly pull Ariel to his side.

“Are you okay?” 

He moved closer to Vito who was groaning in pain. Alaska’s men surround the place as they already take care of Vito’s men. 

“Take her away” Alaska tells Jefrey and quickly take off his jacket, he put it on Ariel. 

Jefrey and some of Alaska’s men takes Ariel out of the building into the helicopter which was already waiting for them and leaves. Ariel was shaking seriously she could not believe she escape death. 

Alaska moves closer to Vito; Vito looks fearfully at him trying to hide.

“How dare you touch her with your filthy hands?” Alaska step on Vito’s hand which was already broken by his gunshot. Vito let out a painful cry. 

“Rain! How could you do this to your brother because of a girl?” he cries.

“That is my wife, get that!” Alaska smashed the gun on Vito’s head to silent him leaving him half dead.

The helicopter took them to the seaport. Ariel was led into a private boat; she could see the name Alaska on it. She knew it must be Alaska’s personal boat. She wondered why they had to leave by sea but she was thankful she gets to leave alive.

Jefrey led her into Alaska’s personal cabin; it was really a long night for her. She could not think of anything and just curled up on the big bed in the room, she could feel Alaska’s warmth from his jacket on her but she was angry.

She angrily throws the jacket off her, wrapping herself in the big blanket provided. Her body was still trembling from the shock of what happened.

Minutes later, Alaska enters the cabin and look at her sitting like a drenched cat. He feels something in his heart but don’t know what it is.

Ariel raises her head slightly to see Alaska approaching her, she instantly felt some surge of anger towards him, she feels like killing him if she could, tears threaten to fall from her eyes but it eventually falls. 

Alaska seeing her cry feels frustrated, she should not be part of the mission but he thinks it will be easier that way and he wanted her to know the world she is now, a different from the normal world.

He sighed and turn back since he doesn’t know what to say to her. 

“I was almost killed,” Ariel whispered, her saliva seems to cloak in her throat. She did not want to say anything, she thought he had come to say something to her after what he did, but he turned to leave instead. 

Alaska stops without turning.

“You sold me for $10million to kill me!” tears continue to fall from her eyes.

She could still not believe she is that worthless.

“It was just a plan” Alaska turns to face her. 

Ariel looks at his face, her heart feels heavy. 

“Plan?” She could not believe selling her was his plan.

“What did you mean plan? Was it all lies?” she could not he was gambling with her life

“A Plan to kill me?”

“I protected you!” He believes he has done what he had to do for her.

“Really?” she couldn’t believe that was his way of protecting her.

“I had to!” he feels frustrated with her talks

“Why?”

She looks at his eyes, searching for answer.

“Because of the mission!”

He breath angrily.

“That mission was more important than you” his eyes brims with fires. Ariel could not believe what he said. 

“Human’s life is less important than a useless item?” she already knew about the mission, she feels hurt and close her eyes to let her tears flows. 

“That was not a useless item, but lives!” Alaska slams her. He feels more angered, he was not angry because of what Ariel said but because she was right. 

He could see she was hurt; his chest tightens to see her cry like that. He looks at her and tries to reach to her with his hand but restrain himself and get out of the room frustrated.

Ariel cries sadly, wrapping herself more into the blanket. She thought she could reason with him but she realizes he is harder than wall.

“Is he even human?” she cries more.
