Chapter Fourteen
PATRICIA'S POV
I woke up my usual time, 5am, to prepare for work, I forgot I was suspended from work, my body was already accustomed to waking up this early to prepare for work, but not today, I had no idea what I would do today.
So many thoughts ran through my mind, should I go out? Even if I wanted to, I had no place to be, I was a loner, my job made me keep away from any form of friendship, I gave my life to this job, it gave me satisfaction, the kind that so many people are deprived from at their jobs. I sat up on the bed, and leaned on the headboard, then I began to reflect on what actually happened yesterday, and the day before, the life changing moments of my life. I expected a query, because Dave said so, and then I got a suspension, signed by Dave, that man has really got it in for me, I shook those thoughts of my head, if I thought about it too much, I might begin to have suicidal thoughts, that I didn’t want, because I might not know how to handle them.

The hospital gate was opened as the siren sound blared torturously, resonating throughout the hospital. Patricia stood up abruptly, from where she was seating in the cubicle and rushed to get to the entrance door. The sound from the ambulance had always been a clarion call for Patricia and for people in her kind of job.
