Chapter 14

The night itself was harmless except for the creature lurking behind its shadows, a beast.

Everything blurred out in the blink of an eye. One second, Nathan was touching me, cramping up the space further. The next, my mind stretched into the distance, vision blurring into space, flicking off my senses in that thin moment.

When I snapped back, I was still in the car with Nathan.

He was still there, and he was touching me.

His lips brushed against mine. I tried to pull back, but what was an Omega's strength against an Alpha? He intensified his Alpha pheromones, urging my Omega heat forward.

The ability to resist him slipped from my grasp, like the slick opening my hole for his cock. As distasteful as it sounded in my head, my body craved him. But it was different from how I craved Kai. Here, my mind was against him while my body agreed because he was forcing me into heat.

On the other hand, with Kai, every part of me wanted it. It was only after that I hated what transpired, even when I didn't exactly hate the act itself.

My nipples thickened and he fondled them, making me moan as I attempted a futile push against him.

"Please, no. Nathan, please."

"You don't have an ounce of an idea how much I've wanted to touch you," he growled into my ear, the reverberation tingling through me.

Warmth pooled beneath my skin, sending me into utopia. My mind was slipping in its fight. He moved himself into the passenger seat, having reclined the chair so he could fit.

His bulge pressed against my chest, dry humping himself as he groaned and twitched, clenching so he could feel the sensation better. One of his hands crawled down to my dick. He placed pressure there, pressing my balls against my length, and I jolted from the pleasure. Slowly, his fingers worked toward my hole.

I begged with whatever strength I had left. "Nathan, stop. I beg of you," but it came out more like a muffled moan.

He wouldn't listen to me. Instead, he continued taking my body like he had full authority over it.

A slam against the door brought him to a halt. Not a few seconds later, the car door yanked open, creaking as the metal rattled inward. Followed by that, Kai appeared.

His frame, tall and imposing, watched with a death glare. His fists hung by his sides. He was a force to reckon with in the night, intensifying the horror.

He hurled Nathan away, detaching him from me and throwing him onto the floor. His body slid across the asphalt so hard and fast, I feared his skin would scrape off his bones.

But he was fine.

Blood trickled down one side of his lips. Nathan chuckled as he wiped it off. "Kai, Alpha of SilverFang Pack. It's funny how you always come to his rescue." His eyes shifted to me.

Speaking of me, I was pulling my shirt back on, buttoning it up and getting out of the car to head toward the pavement.

The ground was wet, making it slippery and a hassle against my trembling state. Regardless, I focused my attention on Kai and Nathan.

"You're trespassing. You've been told not to come back here."

"Oh? I must have forgotten to read the statement."

"Banishment. I think that's very clear."

In the next second, nails turned into claws, teeth elongated into fangs, the sounds of snarling and wolf essence poisoning the atmosphere. Nathan clashed against Kai. Kai held his ground, snapping his claws, as long as talons, toward Nathan. By a hair's breadth, he missed.

Nathan's face would've been marked by a large incision.

The two clashed further in a toxic dance that even the night seemed scared of. My eyes struggled to keep up.

Kai swept out his leg, destabilizing Nathan. As soon as Nathan dropped flat, Kai lunged for him. Almost caught, Nathan rolled away from Kai's claws sinking into his heart, but being smarter and faster, Kai yanked him back by the collar, slamming Nathan's head against the asphalt.

Able to climb over him while Nathan ripped into Kai's clothes, earning a growl mixed with a whine, Kai focused on his mission and slammed Nathan's head against the asphalt again. And again.

Then harsher.

Harder.

The ground cracked, then broke inward.

Nathan's arms fell limp.

He was weakening, enfeebled from the repeated hits.

I didn't know when I ran toward Kai.

His eyes were so darkened, like a storm in the middle of an ocean, I could barely see them. His brows were knitted, a deep crease cutting across his forehead, nostrils flaring as he inhaled Nathan's blood, and in the middle of all that, he was enjoying this.

I, for one, knew Kai had always wanted to do this to Nathan. Right from the beginning.

"You'll kill him," I yelled, but he wouldn't stop. "Kai, I said stop. You're going to kill him."

He growled, eyes fixed on Nathan.

"Fuck, I said stop!" My tone turned into an ear piercing shriek. My throat hurt, but I pushed through. "He's bleeding too much."

"He shouldn't be here. He's a rogue."

"Stay away from him."

"Are you defending him? Seriously?" he seethed.

"No, but... look at you." I chose my words carefully. I'd never seen Kai this monstrous before. It made me wonder if this was even the Kai I knew, the one I spent time with merely hours ago.

"You don't want to kill him, do you?"

"He deserves it," he spat.

But thankfully, he stood up and stepped away. Nathan was left groaning lowly, a sign he was still alive. I released a breath I didn't know I'd been holding.

"I'm... cold." I swallowed lightly. "Walk with me?"

When Kai looked at me again, he had softened. But the rage still lingered beneath something as thin as glass, easily shattered. His muscles seemed larger than usual, but at least his nails had returned to normal, blood coating the tips of his knuckles.

The air he exhaled puffed out before him. "Yea, come on."

Together, we walked away from there. A part of me wondered...

How was Kai here?
