Chapter 8

After I showered, I changed to a floral dress with a length above my knee and decided to put on some lotion. My brother suddenly appeared from my door “Alle, what will happen now?” I answered him with the truth that I'm not sure about Chadrick's decision. Nothing happened between us but Dad won’t believe me. But still, I’m so ashamed that they witnessed us under that state. Arrghh!.

“You’re likely to get Dad a heart attack,” he clucked his tongue. “Yeah, I know and I felt sorry for that” I replied wearily.

We were all in the dining to have our breakfast. My Dad, Mom, Andrew, and Chadrick. I chose to sit beside Andrew across from Chad.  No one has ever talked and all that could be heard were clicks of the utensils. I bowed my head and thought, "Jeez! awkward!".

After a few minutes, Dad put his utensils down and placed both his elbows on top of the table as he clasped his hands. “Alle, after breakfast you need to pack your things," he said seriously.

"From now on,  you will move in with Chadrick," I didn't freak out because I heard them in the study. “The incident we witnessed was unacceptable,” Dad strongly added with finality.

“What?" Andrew asked in disbelief. “Yes, Andrew. I agreed to take care of Allesandra from now on," Chadrick answered. "Both of us should be responsible for the consequences of our actions," he added without a hint of humor.

“Isn’t that what you've always wanted, Allesandra?" Dad mocked as I looked at him ashamed and embarrassed. He really knew Chad meant so much to me.  “Dad, please can we just talk first?” I requested.  “There’s nothing to talk about Allessandra," Dad didn’t listen. "You need to stop being childish from now on," he reminded me. "You’re a grown-up, so act as one,” he lessoned.

“Does it mean they are getting married?” confused, Andrew questioned.

“Yes, but I need to sort things first before we could officially announce it," Chadrick was quick to answer. "We'll talk about it again when we get home,” he looked into my eyes but I avoided his gaze.

I looked at my mom beside dad, she was enjoying her breakfast and I saw a hint of a smile on her lips. I couldn't believe mom was happy about the incident. “Alle darling, finish your breakfast, I’ll help you pack your things” astounded, I nodded at her.

Chadrick was the one who carried my luggage downstairs. I only pack two pieces of luggage because he said I don't need to bring a lot since he'll provide for everything. As a good follower, I just packed my favorite kinds of stuff.

We walked through Chadrick's car "I hope you two won’t give me trouble in the future," Dad warned. "I wish you live happily together" we both nodded.

I hugged Mom and she naughtily whispered, “I know you are happy,” I rolled my eyes and pinched her side. I pulled away and she gave me a meaningful smile. Such a cool mom!  Andrew patted my back and we bid goodbye to everyone.

The ride to Chadrick’s place was a bit awkward. No! Not a bit but immensely awkward. He drove silently as he focused on the road and never spared a glance to me or asked anything. I, on the other side, diverted my attention to the window as I enjoyed the view outside. I was afraid to say something and I couldn't focus. I couldn't believe everything happened as quickly as I never imagined.

We arrived at his house which was less than an hour from our place. He carried my stuff in the living room. His helper Mona smiled as she greeted us with a confused look.

“Mona, please bring Alle’s suitcases to the guest room next to mine,” he ordered.  With no questions, Mona instantly carried my stuff. I know where that room is because, for God’s sake, I grew up and spent almost all my time with him. I usually visit him that was why it's obvious I know every corner of his house.

“Alle we need to discuss things," Chadrick got my attention. I looked at him, “Chad, you don’t have to do this,' I shook my head. "I can explain everything to dad," I was trying to negotiate. "Just give me some time to persuade and calm him down," I added but deep inside, I wanted to stay with him.

“Alle, did you see your dad?" he frowned. "He was on the verge of getting a heart attack," he retorted. "If that happened, we're doomed tremendously," my shoulder sagged. I bit you don’t want to lose your dad, right? He questioned strongly. With that, I fearfully nodded at him.

“You will stay in the guest room for the meantime," I kept silent. "Just bear with our situation while I sort things out,' he explained. "I need to figure out ways on how to solve our problems,” he was talking still when suddenly his phone ring.

He excused himself for a moment to answer the call and I believe that was important. “Hello? What? I’ll go there right away” he was startled and shocked. He dropped the call “I need to go to the site, an emergency occurred," he informed me that it was his head supervisor. He said we are not done discussing things between us and we'll talk as soon as he gets back.  "I need to go now. Bye!” he rushed to his car, roared his engine, and drove away.

I moved upstairs and find the room neatly arranged in order. I sat on the bed flabbergasted. I thought "Am I not imagining things?" I couldn't believe Chad and me in one roof. My man, my dreams! Whoa!

I reached for my phone to call my best friend Bella. “Hello, Alle? care to share something?” she was lively. “Bella, you won’t believe what I have to tell you,” I said. “What is it? She responded curiously.

“This is unbelievable!” I replied. “Will you spill it out now?” I rolled my eyes. “Impatient, are we?” I inhaled a deep breath “Chad and I are getting married!” I screamed.

I heard Bella laughed on the other line “Jeez woman! stop daydreaming!" she scoffed. "Drink aspirin for your hangover," still amused by what I disclosed. “I’m not! I’m serious!” I retorted.

“You’re so funny!” she was laughing hard. I paused for a moment “I'm not fooling you, I moved in with him," she stopped. "If you don't believe me, ask my Mom," on the other line, she was silent, and in a few, "Shit!" I heard her uttered.
