One hundred and forty-three

Sally's POV

One time I left the room. I followed a beautiful floating white orb that led me to what felt like a 5-minute walk to an abandoned warehouse.

I hesitated to enter the building, but the ball went straight through the wall. Sighing, I followed it through a small entrance.

As soon as I stepped inside, a shrill scream echoed throughout the space of the warehouse. The screams of a man and a woman rang out again, sending chills down my spine.

Approaching the noise, I hid behind pieces of plywood. My heart stopped beating for a split second when I saw my parents in the middle of the room.

My mother was stripped of her clothes and every ounce of dignity, tears streaming down her pale and bloody face.

I wanted to scream and help her, but I couldn't move and not even a whisper came out. I could only cry and suppress the anger welling up inside me.

My dad, on the other hand, looked completely devastated. I held my breath as I watched him cry, pleading with the men around them who look
