Chapter Thirteen

"What are you doing?", Marvin sighs frustratedly as he shuts the door of his office.

"How did you know I was here?", she mutters.

"The same way I figured you were here the last time", Marvin deadpans.

"That's not possible"

"Because you used a scent concealer?", Marvin asks and her eyes widen. "It was only hard initially. Once I started following you, it only got easier and easier", he explains and she curses. "Why are you doing this when you could be on my side instead? Did you see how everyone looked at you the moment I said you're my Luna?"

"My people were only surprised because they were kept in the dark, they don't care about your temporary status", she retorts, laying further emphasis on the word 'temporary' as she spoke.

"And my men? They were surprised alright but they were just a little away from kneeling to you even though you are the enemy", he tells her and she rolls her eyes.

"Respect is something I've attracted since childhood, it is nothing to me now", she yawns.
