''Boss, the Russians are trying to invade our territory again. They are making deals with Inland Taipan.'' Ricci reported to him the latest news.
''These Russians are getting into my head. They attacked me last time and I went easy on them. But now they are calling for death. Get information about their deal. I will see how they will get it done.'' Sebastian said wickedly.
Sebastian is the 3rd generation Mafia. His grandfather and father were not as strong as him. That's why his father became a victim of another group.
At the age of 15, Sebastian took hold of his family's business. From the smuggling of weapons, to drugs, the selling of girls to organ trafficking, he did everything and, within 3 years, he became the strongest Mafia in Italy.
He is known as the 'Black King', because of his status in the dark world.
Furthermore, no one has ever seen the true face of the Black King, except the few important men of his gang. All the deals he makes are made through his men. That's why his enemies never succeed in getting through him. Although they are thirsty of his blood.
A month ago, one of his men betrayed him and sold the information regarding Sebastian to the Russians. That's how he was attacked by them.
''And boss, what should I do about the betrayer?'' It's been a month since they kept him but Sebastian hadn't announced the verdict yet and Ricci was dying to see his punishment.
Sebastian smirked devilishly, ''We need to pay him a visit.'' He looked at Ricci.
Ricci also understood the meaning behind his words and nodded.
In the evening,
They walked through the dark tunnel and arrived at the little cell where they had kept Philip.
The man was tied up in a smelly and moldy place. It was even hard to breathe there. Blood was oozing out of his mouth and there were visible bruises on his face.
Sebastian gave him a death glare. The man trembled.
''Please... please let me go. I am innocent.'' He pleaded, although he was aware of the fact that his words weren't going to melt the Black King.
The man dressed in black from head to toe looked like an angel of death to him.
''Let you go?'' Sebastian's voice came out like a whisper and he circled around him.
''Aren't you asking for too much?'' He stopped right behind him and held his neck to choke him.
Philip withered in his grip and tried to get away but his tattooed hand held him tightly in place.
From the corner, Ricci watched the whole thing quietly. Just when Sebastian felt like a man on the verge of dying, he let go of his neck ruthlessly and came to stand right in front of him.
He held his hair harshly and made him look in his dark eyes.
''You know the price of betraying me. Still you did that.'' He tsked. ''You must not love your life anymore.''
''Please, boss. They kidnapped me and forced me-''
''If that's the case, then you did great. I better want to see you die through my hands rather than them.'' He said darkly.
Sebastian got a knife out of his pants and put it on his throat. Philip started to move away from the cold metal. ''Shh... stay still. Otherwise, one slit and you will be kissing the angel of death.''
The fear took over the eyes. He did not want to die, not yet.
''If you kill me now, then there is no way for you to know what happened to the Vet who saved your life that night.'' Philip said in one breath as the knife was digging into his skin and he could feel the blood dripping out of there.
Sebastian's hand stopped and he threw the knife away. He held the man by his collar and punched his face so hard that he saw the stars.
''WHAT THE F**K ARE YOU SAYING?'' He roared and his voice echoed, making everyone flinch.
''WHAT HAPPENED TO HER?'' Sebastian punched him in the abdomen. He instantly vomited blood.
''CUT OFF HIS F**KING FINGERS.'' He ordered another man of his.
The man immediately came forward with a tool which is used to cut off the digits.
Philip was coughing violently and he shook his head. ''I... I will tell you.'' He said with difficulty.
''SPEAK.'' Sebastian growled.
''Mikhail, he raped her. He raped her to save you.'' Philip looked in his eyes fearlessly as he told him the truth.
And Sebastian felt like the world had come to an end. He could hear a ringing sound in his head, not anything other than that. His senses went numb and he took a step back.
Fear took over him and then the pain of losing his precious thing.
''This motherf**ker is lying, boss. He is playing with you.'' Ricci said to him.
Philip chuckled as he saw the pathetic condition of the Mafia King. ''She is your Achilles heel, isn't she? How do you feel knowing that you ruined her life?'' Philip taunted.
Sebastian just stared at him. He looked like a man who was ready to set the world on fire.
''You couldn't protect a single girl and you go around killing people. Remember when you killed my sister for marrying one of your rivals? This is what you call helplessness.'' Philip scoffed, and that was the limit of Sebastian's patience.
He took out a gun from the back of his pants and put it directly on his forehead. ''I will tear apart every single person who will dare to come in his way.'' He said to him with his bloodshed eyes and did not waste a single second before shooting him in the head.
The vicious chuckle of Philip died down. Blood splashed on his face. He wiped it away with the back of his hand and walked away from there.
After they reached the parking lot, Sebastian grabbed Ricci from the collar and pushed him towards the wall so hard that he felt like his backbone was broken into two pieces. ''You told me she was sick because of drugs.'' Sebastian said with gritted teeth.
''Boss, I have done everything but there isn't a single clue about it-'' he avoided looking in his eyes, ''Rape" and the last words came out more like a whisper.
"Investigate Mikhail."
"Yes, Boss." Sebastian let go of him and stepped inside his black Bentley and signalled the driver to drive.
While his head was hurting like hell. Sebastian threw his head on the headrest of the seat and massaged his temples. Everything made sense. The fear which Ricci saw in her eyes and the 'M' on her face..... the pieces of puzzle were put together.
The most painful part was that he was the reason behind her pain.
"Take me to the apartment complex." He said to the driver and he immediately took a sharp U-turn to change direction.
'How will I get her out of this trauma and how will she treat me when she knows it all happened to her because of me?' There were a lot of questions in his head and, for the first time in his life, Sebastian had no answers to them.
Soon, the vehicle halted in front of a building. He had the address of Lauren's place, so he went directly to the other floor.
Sebastian contemplated whether he should knock on the door or not? He retreated his hand plenty of times before pushing the button of door bell and sighing.
Philip wasn't wrong. He was indeed left helpless.
''Elysia, you are coming with me. We will go to the mart for groceries and I can't carry them alone.'' He heard a voice from inside which he assumed to be Lauren's.
''I am not going anywhere.'' He heard a familiar voice which he could recognize even in a half dead state.
His cold stony heart skipped a beat.
''I will not hear a 'no' from you. You are coming with me and that's it." Lauren said with authority, and for a moment Sebastian prayed for her to come out.
He wanted to see her, he was dying to catch a glimpse of her beautiful face.
Sebastian heard the footsteps. Someone was coming closer towards the door. In one swift motion, he hid behind the door of the emergency exit and waited until the door was once again closed.
The footsteps were retreating and he knew that they were walking towards the elevator. So, without wasting a single moment, he rushed up the stairs.
Sebastian did not have to break into a single drop of sweat from rushing down to the ground floor from the 10th floor.
Right at that moment, the doors of the elevator opened and he saw two girls. One of them was wearing a black hoodie and she had her face covered with it. Her terrified little steps and those anxious eyes..... it took him a nano second to know who she was.
The mart wasn't far from the apartment, so they walked there and he quietly followed them without making a single sound.
''Lauren, I am afraid. Please take me back.'' He heard her saying.
''I am with you. Don't worry.'' Lauren assured her.
And Sebastian wanted to kill himself. If he knew that she would have to pay such a heavy price for saving his life, Sebastian would have never asked her for help.
His veins were popping out from the neck as he felt the blood was pumping madly in his veins.
They were soon inside the mart. Lauren was talking to her non stop as she was trying to distract her from the negative thoughts.
Her hands were visibly trembling and Sebastian could not tolerate it anymore and left.
He went to his personal gym and took off all of his clothes, just leaving his boxers and started punching the sandbag.
He does not know how long he boxed for, but his knuckles were bleeding.
''Boss, there is news regarding the trade between Russians and Inland Taipan.'' Ricci was terrified by his demeanor. ''The trade is tomorrow night.''
''Report it to the police through an anonymous source. I am going to destroy these bloody Russians.'' Revenge was getting in his head and he was going to make them pay for messing up with Elysia.
Dinner felt like a dream.Ella sat across from Theo in the softly lit restaurant, the glow of candles flickering between them. The world outside had faded away, leaving just the two of them in this quiet, intimate space. Soft music played in the background, a slow, delicate tune that matched the gentle hum of her heart.Theo looked unfairly good in the dim light—his sharp features softened by the warm glow, his deep eyes watching her with an intensity that made her breath catch. She had missed this.Missed him.For the past two months, she had convinced herself that this chapter of her life was over—that Theo had moved on, that he had put the past behind him. But now, sitting here, watching the way he still looked at her, she knew she had been wrong. There was no moving on. Not from this.“Is the food not good?” Theo’s voice was quiet, amused, pulling her out of her thoughts.Ella blinked and realized she had barely touched her plate. “No, it’s good. I’m just…” She hesitated, fingers
Ella never thought she would count down the days until graduation with this much exhaustion. She should have been happy—relieved, even—that she was still going to graduate after everything that happened. But the reality of those two months was far from anything she could have imagined.University became a battlefield. She wasn’t naive. She knew the rumors wouldn’t die overnight. She knew people would talk. But the sheer weight of the whispers, the lingering stares, and the judgment in people’s eyes made every single day unbearable. No matter where she went, it followed her.In the hallways, people would lower their voices when she passed by, but she could still hear them."That’s her, right? The professor’s girl?""I heard he left because of her.""Do you think she actually slept with him to pass?"It was relentless. Some people didn’t even bother whispering. A few girls laughed loudly when she walked past, throwing words like desperate and shameless in her direction. Some guys stared
A few days later, Ella received a formal notice from the university. It wasn’t just another warning or a request for a meeting—it was an official disciplinary hearing regarding her "misconduct."Her hands trembled as she held the paper, her breath hitching in her throat. She had been dreading this moment ever since the pictures leaked. But now that it was here, a heavy weight settled in her chest. Ella bit her lip. “What if… what if they actually expel me?” Her voice was barely above a whisper, the fear in it clear.Across campus, Theo read the same notice. His fingers tightened around the letter, his jaw clenching. He knew this was coming, but that didn’t make it any easier to accept. “They’re pushing this too far,” he muttered and his mind raced with possibilities, searching for a way out of this mess. However, he knew that this isn't going to be easy.Soon, Ella found herself sitting beside Theo in the meeting room, her hands clenched together on her lap to stop them from shaking.
Theo had never felt rage like this before. It wasn’t the kind that simmered beneath the surface, waiting to be swallowed down. No, this was a wildfire, burning uncontrollably, consuming every rational thought in his mind. The moment he saw the pictures, something inside him snapped. He wasted no time—he stormed straight to the administration office, demanding that the photos be taken down immediately. The faculty members hesitated at first, exchanging nervous glances, but there was something about Theo’s voice—his sharp, commanding tone—that made them scramble into action. The pictures were removed from the university website within minutes, but that wasn’t enough. It wasn’t just about deleting them. It was about making sure this never happened again. It was about him.Chole.Theo knew. He didn’t need evidence. He didn’t need confirmation. Everything about this situation screamed Chole’s name. His hands clenched into fists as he strode out of the office, his eyes scanning the campus.
Ella walked through the university gates, and immediately, something felt wrong. It wasn’t anything obvious at first, just an odd, heavy sensation settling in her chest. The kind of feeling that made her skin prickle, like when someone was watching her. She tried to shake it off, telling herself she was overthinking things, but as she moved deeper into campus, the feeling grew stronger. Then she noticed the looks.People weren’t just glancing at her in passing; they were staring. Some pretended to be busy on their phones but would sneak quick glances in her direction. Others didn’t bother to hide it at all. Their eyes followed her as she walked, whispers trailing behind her like shadows. A few students exchanged smirks, nudging each other as if they were all in on some kind of secret.Ella’s heart pounded as she tightened her grip on her bag. She didn’t understand—why was everyone looking at her like that? What was going on? She tried to keep her head down, but the weight of their eye
Ella walked through the university hallways with her head down, gripping the straps of her bag tightly. She had barely slept the night before. Every time she closed her eyes, she could feel Chole’s hands on her, his voice echoing in her ears. It made her skin crawl. But she wasn’t going to let it show. She had made a promise to herself—she wouldn’t let what happened control her.So she did what she had to. She pulled on a thick black turtleneck, hoping it would hide the bruise on her neck. She dabbed on some makeup just in case. If she acted normal, no one would notice. At least, that was the plan. She took a deep breath before stepping into Theo’s lecture hall. The room was already half-full, students chatting and flipping through notes. She quickly found a seat in the back, hoping to blend in.Theo entered the room shortly after, looking as composed as always. But when his eyes flickered over the students and landed on her, something in his gaze softened for a brief second before he
