CHAPTER 20: PUNISHMENT
Chris had to adjust his eyes because of the blinding light. He blinked fast for a few seconds before his eyes could fully adjust. He roamed his eyes at the place, all he could see are trees and other plants. The place is beautiful that it took him a moment to realize that he didn’t know where he was.
He started walking around, he realized that he’s barefooted but he didn’t mind. The grass beneath is soft and a bit ticklish to his feet. He heard the sound of birds chirping. It made Chris smile, he rarely hears bird chirping because he lives in the city ever since he was young.
He tried finding the source of the sound and saw the two birds happily chirping by the branch. Chris watched the birds without disturbing them but to his surprise, the birds flew towards him. The birds circled him before they flew away from him.
He continued walking around the place. Somehow he felt lonely that he is alone. His mother would probably appreciate the place more than he does

Chris wore the apron provided by their classmates. “Are we really sure about this?” He asked Kurt who’s having a hard time tying his own apron.“We’re serving coffee, not saving the world. Chris felt his knees giving out. Blood pools on the ground and Paul’s dead body is at the middle. The school festival couldn’t proceed as follows because of what happened. All students are advised that regular classes will be held. Chris’ class is quiet when he entered contrary to the usual noisy morning that welcomes him. Chris woke up early to clean the house. He first targeted the living room which is already garnering dust from being unused. He looked around and realized that he’s always been in his room these days. Whenever he would go out he would always head straight out of the house and whenever he comes back he would go straight to his room. It became his routine lately. He would always see his father watching the sports channel in the living room whenever he has the time. Chris is not into sports but he enjoys watching with his father, his mother would always bring them something to eat and would go to their office to have a peace and quiet read. There aren’t a lot of memories of them being together but he could remember each memory whenever he looks around. Maybe that’s why he chose to stay at his room all the time.
