CHAPTER 24: TAROT CARD READING
It is already the third day of their school festival and Kurt is still enthusiastic as ever even though he almost spilled cake to one of the customers just a minute ago.
“I knew this would happen.” Chris shook his head.
Kurt laughed and doesn’t look a bit discouraged, “I managed to catch back the cake. People even clapped because of my exhibition!” Their classmates laughed this time.
“He saved the day.” One joked and laughter filled their mini café.
“Louise and Maddie are already here so you can take finish your shift early. Enjoy the rest of the event.”
Kurt stretched his arms as they go out of the changing room, “Woah it’s quite tiring today.”
“You mean you aren’t tired on the first day?” Chris answered. He’s tired on both days, the labor isn’t tiring but Chris interacting with a lot of people is draining his energy.

Chris felt his knees giving out. Blood pools on the ground and Paul’s dead body is at the middle. Teachers already came to the scene and asked the people to disseminate.“Chris, let’s go.” Kurt mumbled and gently pulled Chris away from the scene.“Stay here okay? Chris woke up early to clean the house. He first targeted the living room which is already garnering dust from being unused. He looked around and realized that he’s always been in his room these days. Linus yawned beside Joaqin, the demon found all of Joaqin’s recent cases as boring and too simple. “Isn’t there a more exciting case to work on? Chris sighed as he checks his messages. Kurt didn’t reply at all and it’s bugging him. He messaged him again even though they will see each other in school. “Hey, is there something wrong?” he typed but immediately thought that it was too weird. “Kurt, how are you? Is everything alright?” He’s about to delete the message again but a hand appeared and hit the send button. Chris froze while the demon laughed manically beside him. “I’m just helping you with your love life. You can’t find a demon like me anywhere else.” Chris just sighed. He doesn’t have the energy to argue with the demon. He waited for a few minutes but Kurt isn’t reply, or reading his messages. He hurriedly went out of the house after realizing that he will miss the bus if he wouldn’t hurry. He ran towards the bus stop and luckily arrived on time.
