AURORA’S POV
I gripped the window sill tightly in fear, I didn't expect to be caught just when I was about making my way down.
"What are you doing?". He asked again.
"What does it look like?" I asked, my voice dripping with sarcasm despite my fear.
Alexander was by the door and he looked extremely furious.
His brows were scrunched tightly together and his lips were pursed into a thin line which I guessed was a sign to show how extremely angry he was.
"Don't you dare climb down." He roared angrily at me.
"Stay right there, don't come close to me or I'll jump." I said but he made no move to stop.
"I'm serious, I'll jump down if you come any closer. I mean it. Don't come any closer." I said in warning, my expression showing him I meant everything word I was saying.
"Don't you dare jump, I know you can't, you wouldn't dare." He repeated again.
"Try me and see if I won't dare jump." I answered, trying to put up a brave front despite my widly beating heart but it did nothing to deter him.
He kept approaching me slowly.
I placed my right leg over the window grabbing the sill even tighter, breathing heavily.
Trembling in fear, I contemplated on what to do.
I didn't know if I should continue down the rope or head back into the room.
Neither choice seemed right at the moment, I glanced at Alexander's scary expression then looked down the long distance to the ground, neither looked right to me.
It was hard to believe I had been the one contemplating climbing down the window earlier.
Now it seemed too far and I was worried about if I would make it safely down to the ground.
I glanced down again and made up my mind to climb down, I took the first step to come down and my breath caught in my throat.
The ground seemed even farther now and a wave of paranoia hit me.
I wasn't sure if I had ever tried anything so dangerous in my life.
Losing my memory made me have no idea the type of person I previously was, I wondered if the previous me that hadn't lost her memory would climb down this window fearlessly or be just like me, trembling nervously.
Fear gripped me and I swallowed several times to try and ease my anxiety.
I breathed in and out several times to steady my breathing but I knew at this point, I had no way of going back up.
I steeled my heart to keep going when Alexander grabbed onto me tightly.
"Let me go." I screamed franctically at him.
"Get back up here." He snapped in reply
"No let me go." I shouted trying to wriggle free from his hold without letting go of the rope.
"No I won't." He said.
He stubbornly refused to let me go so we were there in a stalemate.
A man holding on to a pregnant woman who was trying to climb down a window.
Anyone who saw this scene would be terrified but I didn't care, all I wanted was to escape and leave this place.
I heard a sound above me and I discovered to my dismay that the cloth I assumed I had tied firmly together was slowing coming loose, knot after knot.
Time seemed to freeze and I could clearly see the knots coming loose.
My stomach dipped in anxiety and I panicked and hurriedly let go of the rope and grabbed unto Alexander's outstretched hand that had been grabbing unto mine.
"Please pull me up now." I begged now completely terrified.
He made no move to help me, making me even more anxious than I already was.
"Pull me up now, do you want me to die?" I cried out anxiously.
"I thought you wanted to climb down, go ahead." He said, a hint of mockery on his face.
"No I don't want to die, I'll die if I fall so just pull me up quickly." I said.
"And you didn't stop to think that you could die before climbing down the window." He replied.
"Just help me." I said, shivering in fright when I looked down and saw the height I was dangling from.
His derisive laughter rang out above me and I cursed softly under my breath.
The nerve he had, taking pleasure in my terrifying position.
"What was that?" He asked raising his eyebrows.
"Nothing, just help me up." I answered.
Just when I thought I would have to keep begging him, he grabbed me with both hands and heaved me up easily into the room.
I breathed out in relief once I was safely inside the room.
"If you were this scared, why did you jump down the window." He said staring as I patted my chest in relief.
"It's none of your business." I muttered in a low tone.
"It definitely is my business since I was the one who had to save you after you made that terrible decision." He answered teasingly
I bit my lips and lowered my head staring intently at my toenail.
"Don't you dare do something like that again." He warned, his voice turning serious.
I raised my head and stared at him defiantly.
"Don't test me Tesoro, you won't like the outcome." He said again in warning.
"Stop talking to me like I'm a child. I'm a fully grown adult and I'm capable of making my own decisions." I snapped back.
"Oh really, stupid decisions that will put you in danger just like earlier." He retorted and I glared at him.
"I'm not stupid and I would have succeeded if you hadn't come in and ruined my plans." I said, giving him the stink eye.
He chose to ignore me and instead walked to the window and cut the clothes I had tied together loose before snapping the window shut tightly.
"Now, I'll have to get new curtains, at least you didn't tear my clothes apart." He mumbled.
"I would have done exactly that if only it could have held my weight." I said.
He stared at me in disbelief then reached out to grab his phone to make a call.
"Have them come in here." He said to whoever he was calling and hung up.
I moved back and sat down on the bed, pouting angrily.
He stood there watching me but didn't say anything.
Soon I heard the sound of footsteps followed by a knock on the door and two muscular and burly men walked in.
One of them had a head full of black hair and the other had blonde hair but they equally looked frightening.
I wondered why he had called them here.
My questions were soon answered.
He turned to them and said "From now on the both of you will stay here and watch over her at all moment. She isn't allowed to leave this room without my permission." He said and made to walk out.
"What are you doing?" I asked, I was starting to get riled up.
"Exactly what it looks like. I'm assigning you bodyguards." He stated simply and I gaped at him in shock.
"Why would you want people watching me? This is absolutely over the top, I'm not your prisoner and I demand to be let out this instant." I demanded.
"You are going nowhere. You will stay in this room until I say otherwise. They'll stay here protecting you." He ordered firmly and I boiled in rage.
"How is this protecting me? You are clearly treating me like a prisoner. Why else would you have them following me around and watching my every move." I screamed at him but he turned to leave, ignoring me.
"You can't hold me against my will, this is against the law, I'll report you for this. I'll have you arrested for this." I spat out.
"Arrested? You won't even be able to leave this room so I'm waiting to see how exactly you want to get me arrested." He smirked and made to walk out the room.
The men made way for him and bowed reverently as he walked past them.
"You get back here, I'm not done talking to you. I know you can hear me, get back here. You don't get to walk out on me after doing this to me." I said, clenching my fists in anger but he had turned to walk out the door.
I made to go after him but the bodyguards stopped me.
"Miss you aren't allowed to leave this room." The blonde haired one said.
"I don't care about whatever he said to you. Let me out of this room now." I huffed angrily.
"I'm sorry, but the boss orders comes first." He said again.
I screamed angrily at him, my chest rising and falling rhymtically in anger but they both paid me no heed.
Having no other way out of the room, I returned to the bed frustrated.
My other method of escape, the window had been blocked off and I was sure I wouldn't be able to attempt to climb down again with the men watching me like hawks circling a prey.
I slumped on the bed in fury and laid down.
I glanced up at the ceiling and tears of frustration ran down my cheeks.
what right did he have to do this to me?
I had no means of contacting the outside world and even if I did, I had no idea who to call.
Losing my memory really was a frustrating situation.
Tossing and turning, I tried to get myself to sleep but nothing I did made me sleep, I couldn't get the fact that I was a prisoner in an unknown place out of my head.
And the bodyguards watching me too made it even worse, their stares felt like it was boring holes in me, making it even harder for me to sleep.
Turning to look in the direction of the door, I noticed the guards were still there, they stood tall and straight like trees blocking my only means of escape.
I laid there for minutes before getting up and walking towards them.
"Let me out." I said
"No miss, you aren't allowed to leave." The black haired guy replied.
"I have to use the restroom, I'm pressed." I snapped at him.
The both of them looked at themselves as if considering if they should let me go or not.
"Are you both deaf? I said I have to use the restroom or does your masters order restrict me from carrying out my body's functional activities?" I huffed angrily.
The black haired guy shifted to let me through when blondie nodded and I walked out.
Soon as I was out, I observed my surroundings but didn't know which way to turn.
On looking back, I saw that the guards were behind me.
"Where's the restroom." I asked.
"It right around that corner, just go straight." Blondie said, pointing in the direction he mentioned.
Following his directions, I walked towards the restroom my thoughts running widly.
I wasn't pressed, I just needed a reason to leave the room, I felt like if I left the confines of the room, I would be able to escape.
When I got to the entrance of the restroom, I made to go in and both of them followed after me, they had been following closely behind me ever since I left the room.
"Where do you both think you are going." I said in annoyance.
Were they planning on entering the restroom with me?
"Miss, we can't let you out of our sight." Blondie answered.
"So because your boss ordered you to follow me everywhere, you will enter here with me? Are you also going to watch me pee?" I sneered in reply.
"You may go in, we'll wait out here." Blondie said again.
Walking into the restroom, I looked around to see if there was a way I could escape from there but there wasn't.
Unlike the room, the windows were too high and small.
Sitting on the toilet seat, I contemplated how I would escape from this place.
I had no idea how the structure of the house looked like or where the entrance was, I also didn't know if those two waiting outside were the only guards in the whole building but I desired to free myself.
Making up my mind, I decided to just sit back and observe until I had the whole structure of the house imprinted in my mind, then I would decide my escape plan.Witty, self made Aurora Russet experiences a sudden life changing encounter when she wakes up one morning, surprised to find herself in a hospital bed.

ALEXANDER’S POV A loud roar erupted from my throat as I watched her roll off the raven. Thoughts of how she could lose the baby engulfed my mind. My eyes became bloodshot. Anger surging through every part of me like fire being thrown into petrol, threatening to consume every inch of me.Without thinking further, my legs made their way down, breaking out in a race. I could feel my anger forging some kind of power inside of me. I felt stronger and powerful. With the speed of the light, I ran deeper into the dark hole. My eyes taking in every single detail in the place as I searched for her.Yet, there was no sign of her. That selfish woman really outdo herself this time.I knew I was so going to rip her head off if I ever found her. With my legs wide apart, I filtered out the noise and the sounds coming from wherever the animals were. I knew it was going to be only a matter of time before one of the wild animals found her and shredded her into pieces. I had to find her first.I closed
AURORA’S POV My head was throbbing so bad as though someone continuously hit an hammer on it. I still managed to force my eyes open. The vision slowly coming to life. The room was unfamiliar. The scent in the air was different from what I smelled at the hospital but somehow it felt oddly familiar. It felt like I knew this place or who it belonged to.“You are awake.” I heard an unfamiliar feminine voice say even though it took some seconds for the words to fully form in my head.“Where am I?” I asked, my voice sounding lower than a whisper.I felt weak and tired. It felt like something or someone had drained all form of lives from within me. Pain shot through all part of me.“Home.” She responded as simple as she could. My head tried to process what she meant by that because this place certainly didn’t look like my own. Neither that of my fiancé.I struggled to pull my lips apart as I attempted to say more but I paused on seeing her close up the distance between us. Her slender finge
ALEXANDER’S POV I heaved out another sigh of relief because I was so glad that nothing happened to her and the baby. Up until this minute, it still felt funny to me that she would try to kill herself just to get away from me.Was that how she despised me now?I brought my right hand up and ran my fingers through my hair.I was pissed, so angry. Angry at myself and not at her. I was pissed that I wasn’t there to protect her. I failed as her husband. I failed as a man.Letting out a groan, I clutched hard onto the table , digging my fingers into them and scratching them out even though it caused me pain. It made them ache so badly as blood found its way out but I didn’t stop. I continued till I could barely feel my fingers. They tried to kill her. Someone tried to murder my wife.I almost lose her. I almost lost them both. I….I groaned again, slamming my fist into the table.Grrrr! My phone rang out from my pocket, letting out a vibrating sound against my skin. Dipping my blood staine
AURORA’S POV I watched as the gate opened and let out a black car. It looked so tiny from where I stood but I could tell that it was him. My so called husband. This seemed like the best chance to run away. To escape before he would return.Although the whole plan wasn’t yet finalized. I had absolutely no idea of how to get pass the guards without alerting them or having them call him. A part of my brain advised me to make up something about wanting to get something outside or take a walk. But they seemed unreal and unbelievable. They weren’t that dumb.Heaving a sigh, I walked away from the window, taking my steps back to the bed while I bit on my right thumb. Thoughts of what to do running through my mind.I was running out of time with every second that ticked by. Finally, I made up my mind to sneak out of the house and try jumping over the back fence. There had to be one here, right? With that, I stood up, proceeding towards the door. However, it pushed open to reveal a middle age
ALEXANDER’S POV“Where is he?” I asked, the second Marco walked up to me.“He is tied up in the electrifying chair, Boss.” He responded causing me to nod and take more steps further till I came face to face with him. There was a bulb hanging above his head, shining its light on him. There was fear written all over him because his eyes darted over the room countless times causing him to release gasps that barely came out due to the cloth tied around his mouth.“Welcome Boss.” They greeted but I paid no attention to them.“Take it off.” I ordered no one in particular and watched Marco make his way forward to do so.Five of my boys had carried out the operation and were all standing here with me.I watched keenly as Marco’s fingers pulled the final strand out causing the fucker’s mouth to be free.“Who are you? Why am I here? What do you want with me? What did I…” His voice trailed off the second I pulled my hood off to reveal my face.I knew he must have heard of me or seen my picture s
ALEXANDER’S POV The drive back home wasn’t time consuming because it felt as though my breathe hitched in my throat every single time out of fear that I might not find her home when I get back. At this point I didn’t know who to trust and who not to until the real culprit was found.A voice in my head advised me to get new staffs and sack the old ones but it obviously wasn’t a good idea because that would only prone her to danger especially now that she was carrying my child.I made my way out of the car and started towards the entrance, my eyes landing on some of the staffs lined out outside with worry etched on their faces.“What?” I roared at them and watched them shiver like little chickens targeted for Christmas celebration.“Madam Aurora is missing, Boss.” One of them informed, her voice cracking a little.I felt my blood burn up and anger surged through me as different images flashed through my mind, I didn’t want to imagine she getting taken so I clenched my teeth hard to pus
AURORA'S POVMy cheeks were hot. Very hot. I feel so embarrassed right now. I should have schooled my expression more and not let on much to the extent where he caught me. Not wanting him to know how embarrassed I felt, I squared my shoulders and walked with my head high in front of him. He was following me to my room now as if I will be running away from him anytime. Even though, that's not overly a lie. I definitely will be planning my escape from this hell hole very soon. His calculated steps behind me irritated the hell out of me. And I could feel his eyes boring holes in the back if my head. "Can you stop staring at me already? You're making me so uncomfortable as it is." I grumbled out. "You don't say, Princess. I could stare at you all day long." He said in his sickeningly sweet voice. I rolled my eyes and turned to face him when we got to the door of my so called bedroom. "Don't call me princess. Do you hear me?" I spat out in disgust."Oh, come on now. You don't mean
AURORA'S POVClanking noises woke me from my sleep. I grumbled internally at the sound but I didn't stand up or try to look around for what caused them. I swear, if that was Alexander by any chance, I'll bite his head off. I'm finally having a peaceful sleep after all the stress I've put myself through and he has decided to disturb it. The sounds did not stop and my mood started getting sour. Rolling from one side of the big bed to the other, I opened my eyes and what I saw baffled me. I was expecting to see the annoying face of one particular mean man, but I was met by some lady that I didn't know. She seemed like she wanted to wake me up at first, so she was not expecting me to have woken up. As soon as our eyes met, hers widened and she let out a short scream. I rolled my eyes and dragged myself to sit up on the bed. My body felt languid. I didn't want to get up from the comfy bed at all. But this creature has decided to show me her so very pretty face."Who are you and what ar
