Selena’s POV

“Because you’ll be devastated to see Elijah again, right?” I teased and laughed when I saw the witch blush. Well, let’s just say that Rain and I hadn’t been the only ones “catching up”. Hell, the second we swapped clothes, we had a moment where we both caught a very distinct smell. Well, we exchanged glances and laughed until we almost broke, and then we decided never to mention it again!

Still, I couldn’t help wondering...

“How are things between you two?” I asked, worried about my best friend. I’d noticed that Elijah hadn’t claimed her, which was unusual for a wolf. But then again, she was human, so it might take more time for her to accept him – especially with her past!

Besides, in the human world, being claimed was the equivalent of marrying the guy after the first date. It was probably really scary for her...

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 104: Zombie Wolves

Rain’s POVWhy wouldn’t the fucking bastard die?I’d already killed Thor three times already, but after just a second down, the wolf came back to life, attacking me with even more vigor and ferocity than before. Never anything real for me to worry about – despite the ache in my muscles – but killing him over and over again without any real end in sight was getting tedious.Looking around, I realized that a lot of my men were having the same issue, although not all of the dead were getting back up. So, whatever prize was asked for immortality, not all were comfortable paying it….And that was when it finally clicked!Victor! I mind-linked the fucking delinquent, my wolf growling because we had to actually leave Thor alive so we could kill him properly. And the annoying part was that the challenge wouldn’t be properly finished until Thor died – and stayed

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 103: ”I Hate Magic!”

Selena’s POV“Your fiancé was gay?!” Stella exclaimed, while Xavier and Clyde didn’t look all that surprised. But---Gay?!“Gay?! What? No!” I exclaimed, confused as I gestured to the dead woman under the cover. “No, he was engaged to her!”Why the hell did everyone look at me as if I’d eaten one too many mushrooms?“Her?!” Xavier drawled, as if he was tasting the word for the first time. Glancing over his shoulder, his brows furrowed as he looked at the dead omega, before his gaze returned to me. “That’s a man!”“What?!” I exclaimed--- wondering if I’d hit my head on the way down or something. Despite only having seen her briefly, I would recognize that woman anywhere. And I most certainly wouldn’t confuse her with a man – no matter how much make-up he put on...“Wa

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 102: Shoot-Out

Selena’s POVI’ll be honest…When someone is pointing a gun at you – especially when you’re not expecting it – you stop thinking. It wasn’t even fear that crept into my blood. My mind just went blank, as if I were watching things unfold from outside my own body. And then--- instinct kicked in!I grabbed whatever my hand reached, and before the omega could pull the trigger, I sent it hurtling at her. It turned out to be a pillow that knocked her slightly off balance---But it was all I needed!Grabbing Stella, we both dove for cover, hiding behind the huge bed.“Friends of yours?” Stella snapped sarcastically, grabbing whatever she could that could be used as a weapon. But unless we wanted to fight her with a scalpel, we were screwed! And things just took a turn for the worse…Furious that we had evaded her, Elena let out a shrilled scream, firing her gun towards us – repeatedly! Flinchi

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 101: What it Means to Be a Werewolf

Rain’s POVPain raced through my body, making my vision swim with darkness that threatened to take me under. I couldn’t afford that. Not just when I’d been challenged! But I couldn’t move...The pain was too intense, and moving even an inch felt like a Herculean task. My heart felt like it had been ripped out of my chest, my ribs a gaping hole. I’d been tortured in the past, but no pain I’d experienced before came close to this! As if someone had set my insides on fire or flayed my soul…A shadow moved over me, and I remembered that Thor had challenged me. That he’d been the one who shot my fated mate and caused this pain. Well, fuck me, but I suddenly understood why rejections were something that killed wolves. I hated that bitch and our bond had never fully formed. And I still felt like dying!I tried to get my body to move. To do something so I didn’t just si

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 100: A Series of Unfortunate Events

Selena’s POV“By the look right there, I’m guessing he didn’t tell you?” Sean asked, his voice tinged with sympathy. I shook my head, closing my eyes and forcing a calm I didn’t feel. No, Stella was right! This was better…As long as there was life, there was hope!If Rain was captured, at least we had time to find and rescue him. He’d survived torture and pain before; he would live through it again.Or he'd better! If he didn’t, I’d have Stella resurrect him so I could kill him myself! Why the hell hadn’t he told me about Katie?!Groaning, as my body was still recovering from the pain – and no, I was pushing aside the question: “how am I feeling his pain when we haven’t even claimed each other?” out of my mind for now – I tried to take a deep breath and get my body to cooperate with me again. Why?Why hadn’t he told me?Another kind of pa

  • Surrogate to the Blood Alpha   Chapter 99: Fall Out

Selena’s POVThe sudden pain in my chest had me doubling over, gasping for air. The glass in my hand crashed to the floor as the pain spread like barbed wire coiling around my body. My heart felt like it had exploded in my chest, tearing a scream from my throat.I heard Stella and Sean call my name. Through blurry eyes, I could see Clyde jump from his seat and rush towards me. His young face was too worried, stretched in horror, which I felt was so unfair for someone that young...And then--- it all went black!I woke up, drowsy and feeling like someone had run through a meat grinder. Seeing the white ceiling and being surrounded by the equipment that Rain had brought in for my pregnancy and delivery, I knew I was in the infirmary. My whole body still ached, and my chest felt sore. Just breathing felt like a Herculean task, and moving--- yeah! That was out of the question! My muscles felt like they were made of lead and were unwilling to cooperate. Hell, it felt like I’d run a maratho
