CHAPTER 4

LUCIANA MILANO

I could feel my heart hammering in my chest as I entered the elevator as I turned to look at the man standing in front of me. Once the door closed I let out a long breath that I didn’t know I was holding in.

“Till we meet again Luciana”

That one sentence has being playing on my mind as I walked out of the company door. What did he mean by that and the way he said my name caused butterflies to erupt in my stomach. Cliché I know. He hasn’t changed one bit from the last time I have seen him except he has gotten more muscular and also his hair has grown little longer but he still looks ravishing as ever. God Luciana why are you thinking like this about your future boss? Future boss? Ha! I doubt I even got the job by the way I was rumbling and let me remind you that I was a nervous wreck.

I smiled to myself as I touched my lips as I remembered that night, that kiss and how I embarrassed myself by running out of the room before he even opened his eyes but damn he was such a good kisser. He tasted so sweet and the way he nibbled my lips asking for entrance and the way he demanded for dominance with his tongue I don’t think I could ever forget that kiss.

That night was also the same night I gave myself to Chase, my ex and also Olly’s dad, I don’t even know I should call him Ophelia’s dad. He wasn’t there when she needed her daddy nor was he there when she said her first word or when she took her first steps. My heart should always soar for Ophelia when she should ask me where her dad was or if he is ever coming back to us. I don’t think I would forgive him for leaving me, for leaving his unborn child.

I opened my apartment door and walked in to be greeted by Lynn and Olly. Olly jumped on me as she hugged me extremely tight never letting go. “I missed you mommy” she whispered, I kissed her head and walked to the kitchen counter and placed her on it “I missed you too Olly” I kissed her nose which made her giggled. Lynn walked into the kitchen and gave me a side hug “so how was the interview?” she said smiling and jumping up on the counter sitting next to Ophelia.

I gave Ophelia some jelly babies which she loved as I turned to Lynn with a serious expression. “guess who was my interviewer and the boss of Vasilios Enterprises?” I said stealing a sweet from Olly which made her squeal a little. Lynn looked at me and then jumped off the counter and grabbed Olly and gently placed her down on the floor she leaned down “princess why don’t you go in the lounge and play with your dolls while mummy and I talk” she said to Olly with a smile on her face “okay aunt Lynn” she replied as she kissed Lynn on the cheek and ran to the lounge to play with her dolls.

Lynn turned to me with a slight smile on her face “now speak” she said in a mischievous way which made me roll my eyes.

“so remember that new year’s party in Barcelona 4 years ago?” I said sitting on the stool that was opposite Lynn. She nodded and I continued “do you remember I was dared to kiss that shirtless hottie?” I said slowly, I looked at her as her eyes widen in realization “NO FUCKEN WAY!!!” she shouted which make me glare at her “there’s a kid in the next room so I would be really happy if you do not use any vulgar words” I said and she gave me a small sheepish smile “sorry, you just caught me off guard but wait let me guess that shirtless hottie that you had your tongue down his throat is your future boss also the CEO of Vasilios Enterprises?” she said and I nodded. “yes Ares Vasilios” I whispered looking down at my lap. “oh damn, did he remember you?” she asked and I nodded.

I told her everything from the time I stepped into his office and the part where he openly checked me out and lastly the interview. “this is like a second chance for you, you guys met again and you are probably going to work for him as his personal assistance which means you guys are going to spend a lot of time alone and- “I cut her off before she even completed her sentence. “yeah that’s not going to happen, did I mention how I blew up the interview and plus it’s not a second chance it was just a coincidence.” I say shaking my head. Lynn looked at me intensely as If she was analyzing me “if you didn’t get the job, why would he say till we meet again” she said and shrugged “I don’t know what he meant by that but I don’t think I will get the job and even if I do what about Ophelia, who will take care of her?”

“firstly don’t think negatively okay, I am sure you will get the job and I don’t think you messed up and secondly don’t worry about Ophelia we will figure something out, you know I am here for you even if I have to look after her I will because I love her and I love you” she finished off. I smiled and hugged her tightly “I am forever grateful to you, you have done for much for Ophelia and I. I love you so much L “I said smiling at her.

Before she could reply, my phone started ringing. I looked up at Lynn and she smiled telling me to answer it. I looked at the unknown number and answered it.

“hello” I answered waiting for the other person to answer back. “is this Miss Milano ?” she said professionally and by the way she was speaking I knew exactly who it was from. “yes it is, how may I help you “I replied. “this is Anna Black from Vasilios Enterprise and I would like to inform you that you have been selected for the personal assistant position. Mr Vasilios told me to inform you that you should be here by 8am tomorrow morning and he will take it from there.” She said and I nodded. I was out of words I was shocked that I have actually gotten the job. I remembered I was still on the call so I quickly replied back excitedly “thank you so much and yes I will be there on time tomorrow”.

We said our goodbyes and hanged up when I looked up at Lynn with a huge smile on my face “I got the job L!!!” I said Excitedly as I jumped to hug her. She squealed and hugged me back “I knew you would get it babe, I am so happy for you, congratulations” she said hugging me back. I looked at her with a huge smile on my face.

“I can’t believe that I Luciana Milano is going to be Ares Vasilios personal assistant.” I whispered to myself smiling a little. Tomorrow is going to be the biggest day of my life and maybe a new beginning I thought to myself.
