Chapter twenty five

Selena's POV:

My thoughts was racing as I climbed the steps, torn between fear and resolve. I was getting closer to discovering my beloved daughter, Heaven, with each step. Hope blazed within me as I drew closer to the top of the structure after the desperate quest had taken me through the maze-like factory.

My hands twitched in excitement as sweat beaded down my brow. I clenched my firearm tightly, prepared to fight whatever stood in my way of my daughter. The uncanny quiet that permeated the thickening air made my heart seem to beat faster.

I eventually made it to the top floor, where she was waiting for me in a poorly lighted space. Heaven was huddled in terror as she stood close to the brink. My relief was short-lived, though, as a guy I had never seen before appeared from the shadows and grabbed Heaven in his hands. He threatened to let her go over the big building while holding her over the edge.

As tears started to fill up in my eyes, time appeared to stop and my eyesight becam
