Elaina left Xavier's meeting with a hopeful but anxious heart. It had already begun and there was no turning back now, this could either end terribly with a knife to her heart or a better kingdom where women don't have to live in fear of the unknown.

Either way, Elaina loved the feeling that she could actually bring change to all of mankind and stop a great evil.

Too restless to return to that sickening tavern, she decided to stop by the dungeon to see Drake and update him of Xavier's meeting with her. She also, through her studying earlier, found out about some herbs that could ease a dragon's estrus symptoms, she was curious to see if it would really work.

And no, it was not because she just wanted to see him again. She reassured herself repeatedly that that wasn't it.

Once she had picked a few around, she went to the dungeon and guards were surprised to see her again.

    Elaina exhaled as she stood before the majestic palace. It was already nightfall but the light surrounding the building brightened up the place like it was daytime. For years she had only seen the outside of this building, commoners were not allowed to go in without an invite. But now, she was being welcomed in for dinner… how time flies.“You are miss Elaina?” a maid walked up and asked. “Yes I am,” she said with a nod.“Welcome to the palace. Please follow me” the maid turned and began walking inside while Elaina followed closely behind. She couldn't help but admire the magnificence of the place and think about how much money was spent on decorations. The flowers were neatly pruned and there was not a single spec of dirt on the statues. Guards and maids moved around objectively with their duties in mind. The inside was even more beautiful than the outside, with red carpet floors and bright colorful lights. It took a lot for Elaina's mouth to not drop open in awe. She walked for a

    Elaina read the scroll in her hand again and glanced at Xavier in doubt and disbelief. It read: His Majesty is requesting the presence of Elaina to join him for dinner at the palace tonight. When Xavier had arrived at the tavern himself to give her the scroll, she was very shocked to see him. Xavier was a prideful man and would never deliver a message to someone so lowly personally, he would normally send his men to deliver it. Which meant that whatever Xavier had come for was of great importance.At first Elaina panicked and thought he had found out her secret but when he presented the scroll, she was very confused. She had to read it twice to confirm what she read and no matter how doubtful she was, the royal stamp on it confirmed that it was authentic. “What is this? The King wants to see me?” she asked again to Xavier, as if hearing it from his mouth would finally make her believe it. “Yes.     Xavier was all smiles on his way back to his home. The feeling that he was getting close to success made him feel great and optimistic. Even though Elaina rejected his grand offer, he mentally noted that he would hold his offer till she was in need of his help. Now he could rest easy and wait for good news to arrive soon. With the pace it was going, he predicted that he would get the dragon's essence within a month or two depending on how responsive the dragon would be. He got to his gate and saw three men with the royal uniform, the King's guards, waiting for him at the door. “Lord Xavier, we bring greetings from the king” One of the guards said with a slight bow.Xavier's heart skipped a beat and he began to feel a little anxious. Elaina herself was shocked by her audacity, she was too angry and made a hasty decision that she immediately regretted. Her lips felt soft like a piece of cloud and an electrifying feeling sent shocks of pleasure inside him. He couldn't tell if it was his estrus symptoms that made him feel that way but the feeling made it look more than a practice test. Everything felt right, like something clicked right into place. While he struggled with that, Elaina's cheeks turned redder and she began to feel hot. Her stomach felt like a chaotic zoo and her lips still tingled from when they kissed.
