LAURA'S POV

For a split second, I regretted bringing it to Lisa's notice that father had given a condition for her to remain there in the pack. She wasn't going to let me rest until I told her exactly what dad gave as the conditions. After a few more pesters from her, I gave in and went on to tell her what father said.

She was shocked and couldn't control herself. I could understand how she must feel at the moment but then only she was to be blamed. If she hadn't gone on to pester me about it then she wouldn't be in this state.

"I'm not joking and neither am I telling you a lie. Now that you know exactly what awaits you, I don't think I need to cajole you to contain your martial training here, right?" There was silence between us as she continued to stare at her fingers like they were some kind of expensive jewel.
