TWO: YOU TOUCH MY LUNA, YOU DIE.

—ADELAIDE POV—

“She’s our Luna! Long live her majesty!” the priest announced, as two birds flapped their wings at my shoulders. What was happening?

The whole crowd fell to their feet. “Long live your majesty!” they all chorused.

Before I knew what was happening, two ladies helped me into a royal carriage meant for the Luna, and I was carried away.

But I was just there to assist Athena! How did I end up as the Luna?

We finally stopped at an opulent room, and when I stepped inside, I was in awe of its beauty. “Once night falls, the Alpha King will come to claim you as his Luna. A marriage consummation,” one of the maids informed me.

I raised my eyebrows. “Consummate?” I asked, wanting to be sure I heard her correctly.

I've heard news about him. Rude, wicked, and ruthless. Oh! Right, he's a crippled Alpha. Now, I'm consummating my night with him? What a mystery!

“Yes, your majesty. I will leave you now.” With that, she exited the room.

**—12 HOURS LATER—**

“I reject you as my Luna.”

“And you will leave this place tonight or tomorrow,” King Kaius announced. His tone was thick and sharp.

I looked up, hoping it was a joke. No, it wasn't.

“W-what did you say?” I shuttered trying to accumulate what he had just said.

“You heard me, didn’t you? Leave,” He grumbled, looking straight into my face. No emotions whatsoever.

I adjusted my gown, as if I was preparing to defend myself, “But... I just became the Queen less than 12 hours ago. I—” I heard him scoffed, cutting me off.

He sniffed. “ In as much as this is the first time of you grasping such opportunity but what I need now is not a Luna. That is out of my dream! ” He glowered. I swallowed the lump in my throat feeling a hint of disrespect in his tone.

“But seriously, what were you thinking? Accepting someone like you as my mate? Isn’t that a bit extreme to dream?” he bluntly stated, disregarding the guards standing nearby.

I had heard stories about how brutal he could be with his words, but this cut deep.

True. The rumors were true. He’s so rude.

“Let’s not drag this out. I will send a carriage by tomorrow morning. Leave.” He ended his conversation then wheeled his chair to the entrance when I stomped on my feet.

I-suddenly don’t want to go back to Athena and her mother. If I’d rot here then so be it.

“What about the council? What will they think of me? I believe they won’t let me go freely without me paying for the consequences.” I told him firmly.

He didn’t turn, “I’m the King. The Alpha king. Forget about what they’d say,” Kaius muttered and left afterwards.

I fell back to my seat. “Luna? What was I thinking? That such opportunity will be mine? Tsk! This reality is hitting me harshly,” I mentioned with all of my emotions mixed.

-ALPHA KAIUS CHAMBERS-

I returned to my abode, I could feel a tight grip on my chest. Not that one of agony but rather, a joyous one. “Why are you in jubilation, Magnus!” I snapped at my inner wolf. His wails has started to irritate me.

“I could perceive a strong feeling from Adelaide. She hold such an alluring scent. It’s definitely nose blinding! She could be our mate!” I could hear Magnus cheered. I could feel him- in a great mood.

I hate to feel it! Not you too Magnus!

“Stop it Magnus! There’s no mate anywhere! Stop being paranoid over a useless peasant. We had one mate and she’s gone. Nothing more, nothing less,” I snapped at him and I could feel the sadness in his heart.

Yeah. Sadness. That’s what I need him to feel. There’s no room to start feeling excited when the beast who murdered my beloved is roaming around freely.

I grabbed my bow and a gear, stood on my feet. I walked to the rooftop especially for me.

“I hope we cross path tonight…I’m killing you!” I transformed into Magnus, going for my usual hunt.

(-The Place Hall Way-)

“This is the hall way alpha Kauis uses when he wants to relax. He loves this hall way more than anything,” Paula told me. I sighed. It been two days since the alpha king warned me to leave but surprisingly, I'm still standing here-in the palace.

The queen mother insisted she see me take a stroll this evening which is why I'm walking at the verge of my grave. King Kauis hall way! Of all places in the palace!

Fortunately, I haven't come across him since that night. I hope I don't come-

I breathed out. “Can we go to other places? I feel like this place is a dangerous zone,” I quickly said.

I don't want to cross path with Kaius. Not tonight.

“Okay-”

“Paula! Paula?!” Just when Paula was about telling me something, her name was called. It was the head of staff, Sapphire.

She walked to us. “I’m sorry for the interruption my queen but please, Paula has to follow me now.”

I titled my head in a nod, “Not a problem. She can go, I will find my way back to my stay.” I answered and immediately they hurried off.

Turning back, my eyes caught a cat. Running across the hall way. Cat? I love cat!

“Huh?” I followed it. Then saw it running around and the stupid me ran after it gigglimg like some mad woman. I didn't know when I followed it into a room.

I was so lost in the cat when I ran into a wall.

Wait. That's no wall. Looking up, I froze. I ran into Kaius chest. He was not wearing a robe. I could see his bare chest, his abs.

And...and..he is S.T.A.N.D.I.NG?? On his feet-?! Not in his wheelchair????!

“I warned you, didn't I?” Oh no! That was thick than usual.

Before I knew it, I feel his bare hands on my neck. “YOU DON’T LISTEN, DO YOU?”
