The doctor was reluctant at first but finally heed to her. He took her to the pups’s ward first, the moment she stepped inside, her heart clenched at the sight of the babies. The room was filled with tiny cries and quiet murmurs of caretakers trying to soothe them. Their small bodies curled in beds too big for them, eyes filled with fever and weakness.

She moved instinctively toward the nearest bed. A small boy, no older than three, whimpered and kicked weakly against his blanket. His mother sat beside him, stroking his hair with tears slipping silently down her cheeks.

She crouched at the bedside. The mother was startled then quickly lowered her head. “Luna—”

“No titles,” she said gently, reaching out. “Just a mother and another woman.” She brushed her fingers over the boy’s damp curls then cupped his cheek. His skin was hot, too hot. His breathing came ragged and shallow.

She felt her mark burn suddenly, a warm pulse spreading from her neck down to her fingertips. She gasped softly

The morning light spilled across the room when Samantha stirred awake. Her hand drifted to her neck, brushing over the tender mark that still pulsed faintly. She felt heat rushed through her veins as memories from the night before came rushing back, the way his canines sank into her skin, the way his voice trembled when he claimed her.She reached for him but she noticed he wasn't on the bed. She caught the faint smell of Cedar and cinnamon that always lingered around him. She wore her pajamas and went out of the chamber. She slowed her steps when she entered the dining room. He was there, sitting at the head of the table with a tray already set— toasted bread, fruit and coffee. For a moment, the sight alone stole her breath. The Alpha of Blue moon pack whom everyone feared, who once shattered her heart was now waiting with breakfast like a man afraid to lose her again. His stormy eyes lifted immediately when he saw her. His lips curled into a smile and he said, “Good. You’re awake.”

A week later, he sat quietly at his office, as he signed the last page of the parchment. He felt his wolf restless beneath him as he thought about tonight. He will mark his mate today before the pack members. A knock broke the silence as Logan entered, bowing slightly. “Alpha, the hall is ready. The elders are waiting. Samantha… she's with the women.” He rose and said, “Bring her to me. I need to see her.” Logan nodded and left. The firelight inside the Alpha’s hall cast long shadows across the stone floor. The banner swayed faintly from the high rafters. It was a night no one in the pack would forget, the night their Alpha would present his mate. He stood at the far end of the chamber, wearing a massive frame cloaked in black ceremonial leathers trimmed with diamonds. His eyes glowed red as he felt his wolf’s power. In the chamber next to the hall, Samantha sat on a wooden seat as elderly omegas worked around her with patient hands. They threaded strands of gold beads through her h

He sat across his desk and was buried in scattered documents of old patrol logs, border reports, and list of supplies that needed his attention. He could perceive the faint smell of pine wood smoke from the office. Though he hadn't moved in an hour, his eyes were glued on a half-written letter to the council that he hadn't been able to finish. He ran a hand through his dark hair and exhaled slowly. Then he heard a knock on the door and said, “Come in,” He watched as his beta, Logan walked in. “Alpha,” he said. “You've got visitors. Important ones.” He raised his head and narrowed his eyes. “Visitors?” Logan nodded and stepped closer to him. “Iron claw, Bloodfang and shadow ridge. They came unannounced. They're waiting in the hall. I thought it best to send them straight here.”Cain leaned back in his chair and arched his brow. “No. Don't send them here. Alphas don't travel without reason. If they've come here, it's not for wine and chatter.”“Exactly,” Logan murmured. “They said it i

Cain sat at the long oak table in his private study that night with a glass of whiskey untouched by his side. He was scrolling through maps before him. He couldn't wrap his head around the elders' decision of replacing him. The insult of calling him cursed, unfit for an Alpha. It was not just about him anymore. It was about his blood line, his authority, his entire legacy. He knew he understood power and right now his power was being questioned. His mind kept wondering, ‘They want to strip me off my right to lead. To put another Alpha in my seat. To fall me cursed because I made a mistake of rejecting my fated mate.’ He shook his head and said to himself, “No. I wouldn't let them.” He picked up the silver wolf-head seal and pressed it against the wax of a letter he had written hours earlier. One after the other, he ordered his warriors to dispatch messages to neighboring packs. By morning, invitations to the council of Alphas would already be in the hands of men who understood what

The pack omegas were making breakfast the next morning. Pots clangs, spoons scraped against bowls and the smell of freshly baked bread mixed with simmering stew filled Samanth’s nose. Her stomach growled and she dashed to the kitchen. She heard omegas and deltas move about quickly, chatting as they worked. “She’s cursed,” one of the omegas muttered under her breath, slicing carrots. “Any woman who ties herself to a man who rejected her is cursed.”“Shh!” another hissed, glancing toward the door. “What if she hears?”“She cannot hear us. And even if she does, what can she do? Everyone knows Cain humiliated her years ago. He threw her away. And now she comes back smiling and defending him as if nothing happened?” the first omega scoffed. “I pity her. The elders will never accept her. Neither will the Moon Goddess.”A young delta working at the stove leaned closer, lowering her voice. “You saw the council last night. The way they stared at her? Like she's some outsider dragging him deep
