Jasmine’s POV

“Please, stay... Don't leave your parent anymore. We promise to protect you.” The speed at which he spoke, made his words melt on each other like ice cream.

I kept mute and was thrown off balance for a second. To be frank, this was a huge promise and a costly one too. But then, I didn't want to make him feel sad, not when I just arrived and he was just touching me and sniffing me after ages. For the sake of his happiness, I will agree and explain this to him much later.

“I promise,” I mumbled, hoping Asher was ignorant of what just happened.

It wasn't even up to an hour since we got here, and it was already feeling like hell on earth. I couldn't help but wonder what other promises he would want to make me swear to.

It was odd that the man I wished to sniff and cuddle, was now a plaque I wanted to run away from so badly. If I stayed any longer, I would be forced to choose between him and Asher, with all of his ridiculous promises, and they both meant the world to me.
