CHAPTER 5

For Sergeant Duhamel, a new addition to their team meant adjusting and resetting things so that the new lieutenant would fit and he was not happy about that. He never liked surprises and this sure was a surprise. The team went ahead with the task at hand for the remainder of the day while they waited to see how tomorrow turned out. They were to solve a kidnapping case with a small child involved and the task was tiring. They had to be extra alert and careful since their lives and that of someone else was dependent on them. In this case, the person was defenseless and helpless. The task would have been easier for everyone else on the team but with Sergeant Duhamel’s bad mood and complaining, they got distracted a lot.

Upon completion of the case, they headed to the small field where they were told a chopper was waiting for them. Everyone sighed in relief that the day was finally over. It was no fun working with Duhamel when he was pissed. When they got to the field, they were surprised to see a beautiful figure with blond hair and long legs that could pass for a model, waiting by the chopper. They looked at one another wondering who among them had been hiding such a beautiful girlfriend from the team. However, everyone looked at one another and then at the girl in confusion. Lieutenant Harris who was known to be the woman pleaser in the group hurried ahead to introduce himself.

“Hey gorgeous, did it hurt when you fell from heaven?” he asked

“That is the lamest pickup line ever. Were you born in like forever, that line is so old,” the beauty said.

“Auuw, burn,” the rest of the team says will laughing at Harris.

When everyone else was busy laughing, Duhamel was busy gawking at the woman before him. He had to admit to himself that she was by far the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen. Her voice was also the sweetest. Considering the fact that he had been with very many women, it was safe to say that he had seen many. The lady who had now turned to face them removed the sunglasses she had on which left everyone even more mesmerized. She had the blues eyes, the shade of the ocean. They were hypnotizing to even look at. Everyone was brought out of their thoughts by the coughs from the beauty.

“And who might you be,” Duhamel asked since no one else seemed to have anything to ask the lady.

“I would be your pilot,” she answered scoffing and rolling her eyes.

The team together with their back up had questioning looks on their faces. Everyone wondered whether this model like beautiful lady knew how to even fly a chopper. She was doing a happy dance on the inside seeing all of them shocked and some doubtful. She then thought to herself that she would have to show them just what she was made of. She asked everyone to get on board or get left behind and she knew that they would think that she was joking. She got on the plane and took the pilot side. She put the headphones on and held on the control. When she saw that everyone was still outside gawking at her like she had grown horns, she started the chopper and rose a little from the ground.

This had everyone rushing to get in not wanting to get left behind. Everyone thought to themselves how crazy this lady was but they had yet to find out just how crazy she was. When everyone was inside she told them to put their seat belts on which some did and some didn’t. She hated being defied and so she decided to teach them a lesson. She made the chopper hit a turbulence which threw everyone without a seat belt out of their seats and flying around the plane. When she thought that they had learnt she calmed the plane and everyone hurried to their seats holding on to their hearts. All she heard were complains about how crazy she was trying to kill them. When they were about to land back at the office, nobody required to be reminded to put their seat belts on.
