CATHERINE.

Tyler didn’t eat dinner with us and shut down his mindlink to me. From what I heard, he ate dinner with Austin at the warrior’s cafeteria.

I knew Jace wanted to ask a question when he cornered me before I went to bed, but I acted as if I was not bothered and talked about something else. I was sure Tyler would come around, and there was no need to make a big fuss about it. But it was already midnight, and Tyler had not gone back to our room. I was annoyed with him earlier, but that didn’t mean I didn’t want to sleep beside him.

‘Austin?’ I mindlinked my cousin, hoping he knew where Tyler was. I’d been trying to hear things from outside the bedroom, and there had been no movement the whole night, so Austin was probably not yet in his room.

‘Hmmm…’ He replied.

‘Is Tyler with you?’

‘Yes, at the training building office.’

‘Are you in a meeting or doing something?’

‘We’re drinking. Just a few more, and we’re heading off to bed.’

‘Is he upset with me?’

‘He’s scared, not upset.’
