Chapter 36: A Night of Danger

Charlie Sr. didn't hesitate, he followed the nurse; hoping to lay eyes on a boy that looked like him. Likely, this was why his grandmother was in the hospital.

Once the ward door was opened, Charlie Sr. stepped inside and noticed that the room was empty. The nurse shivered when she saw his dark expression and nervously grabbed her pinafore.

He coldly asked her, “Where is the boy you talked of?” She stumbled on her words, but he had no time for her stuttered response. Putting an abrupt end to the conversation, Charlie Sr. turned around and left the ward, quickly dialling his grandmother's number.

Charlie Sr. nervously asked into the phone's mouthpiece, "Grandma, where are you?"

The sound of the propellers whirring and the distinct sound of a helicopter engine answered him as Madame Agnes's voice came through the phone's speaker.

"I am heading home, is anything the matter?" Charlie Sr. could tell his grandmother was on her way back home.
