Chapter 3

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

Daisy tried to call her father, at this point, she was ready to tell him everything Steve did to her but unfortunately,

Mr. Montero's line wasn't going through, she put the telephone back on its receiver and went up to her room,

There was no way she was going back to the hospital after the humiliation she went through,

She could surely do with not having her phone for a couple of hours but what she couldn't bare was seeing Steve with his mistress again.

She took a long shower telling herself not to break down and start crying again,

After she was done, she dressed up and decided to visit her Dad.

She reached The Montero resident an hour later, she stood at the front door for a few minutes looking at the house she had spent all her life in,

What would happen if Steve decided to choose his mistress over her and Divorce her, would she be back at this house and be labeled the Billionaire's daughter who couldn't keep her marriage?

Her father and grandma would be disappointed in her,

She too was disappointed in herself, how had she not seen that Steve was having an affair?

All those 'late night meetings' he claimed made him come home in the middle of the night or not at all,

How did she not see past it?

Her mind drifted to the first time she had met Steve.

She had attended a high society party with her father,

She remembered the moment he had walked in and managed to get every woman's attention,

he was the most handsome man she had ever led her eyes on,

Everyone knew the name Steven Dante as his family company was one of the most prosperous companies around, but he had always been a private person concerning his public image,

Despite being the infamous CEO of THE BENZO group, very few people had met him in person and she happened to be one of the fortunate ones to get to see him that day,

His face and tall height could only be disturbed as Perfection in her eyes,

Has Steve's eyes roamed around the room, they landed on her,

That magnetic stare as he walked toward her made her heart do multiple flipflops,

Yes, it was love at first sight, 

The rapidly beating of her heart made her realize that he was the One,

"Hey," he said not for a second breaking eye contact, for the first time in her life she had found herself tongue-tied as she let him kiss her hand,

Her father cleared his throat unimpressed by what Steve was doing,

"Mr. Montero, it's such an honor to come face to face with a great man like you" he politely said breaking the eye contact

"Pleasure is all mine", Daisy quickly elbowed her father to introduce them,

"This is my little princess," Mr Montero said

"Daddy, am not a little girl" She argued her face flashing with embarrassment

"Well, you still are to me," he said kissing her forehead, She noticed through the corner of her eye that Steve was looking at her with a charming smile on his face,

She signed her father with her eyes to leave them alone and saw the displeased look he had on his face as he walked away,

She then turned to the charming man in front of her

"Hey, my name is Daisy Montero" she introduced happy that her voice didn't sound as nervous as she felt,

Truth to tell, she had not been the best at having conversations with men but that was because she had not found any of the men she had met interesting.

That evening had been one of the best moments of Daisy's life, she had spent the entire evening with him,

He didn't leave her side for once, she had seen how envious the other women were and she indeed felt very lucky that this man was only keen on her,

They had talked about everything and danced together a couple of times and by the end of the night, Daisy was convinced she had met the love of her life,

He seemed as smitten by her as she was with him, it was like they were already in love.

That very night, they exchanged contact details and spent the rest of the night texting each other.

The next day, Steve asked her on a date, she happily said yes and that was the start of what she thought was their love story,

Steve made it his habit to see her every single time he was free and after two weeks on one of their romantic dates,

He proposed to her. Thrilled was an understatement to what Daisy had felt,

She was on cloud nine as she showed her Dad the five-carrot diamond ring on her finger,

Mr. Montero's horrified expression managed to ruin her night.

"This is absurd Daisy, do you think that this is some kind of movie where you can meet a Man and marry him in two weeks, you don't even know what he is like!" That didn't sit well with her

"I will get to know him more in our marriage, what matters is I love him and I will marry him whether you like it or not Dad" She knew she probably sounded insane but what she felt for Steve was stronger than anything she had felt, she wanted him to be hers before another woman took him away from her.

Even though Mr Montero was against the whole sudden marriage, he had to give in after a few days after all, he loved his daughter and had done everything she asked of him since she was a baby, if she loved and wanted him, he had no option but to accept.

A grand wedding followed a week after, Everything had gone perfectly well until they began their lives as newlyweds.

Daisy was dragged back to reality when the front door opened,

"Daisy, my Dear child, you are here!" She heard Martha's voice

"Martha" she immediately throw her arms around the woman relaxing in her comforting arms,

Martha was the Head maid and had been her nanny since the time her mom died when she was just a little girl, she considered her family.

"I missed you soo much my girl" Martha pulled away to look at her

"Your eyes look swollen, have you been crying, I told you I would spank that boy if he ever made you cry, what did he do?" She asked with raised eyebrows, Daisy immediately felt her heart melt and began to cry holding the woman tightly

"Oh Martha," she said in between sobs,

The older woman lead her inside as she tried to comfort her,

They went to her old room where Daisy began to narrate everything that had happened since she got married,

"Don't cry too much child" Martha said to her

"Have you told your father about this?" She asked, Daisy slowly shook her head

"You know how Protective Dad is about me, he will ruin Steve with just one word and I, I love him," she said the last part in a whisper,

Yes Despite what had happened so far, Daisy knew she still loved Steve deeply.

"What do I do Martha?" She asked with a sad sign

"This marriage is new, you are bound to face challenges, go back home Wait for your husband when he comes back talk with him and try to fix things before you decide to break them" Martha advised, The two women spent a few minutes talking with Martha advising her on how to handle the situation.

Daisy then left feeling more hopeful than she did when she came here,

She was going to talk to Steve and find out what she could do to fix their marriage, she was hopeful that they would get past this and things would go back to the way they were before they got married...
