Chapter 1

JENNY'S POV_**

It was a frosty night in that dark city I cannot name. I don't know who I am, how old I am, or where I come from, as I have no memory of them. I met myself sitting naked on the floor of that street. My long, black hair was touching the floor, as I squat on my knees and folded my two arms to push them towards me. It was really cold.

"What am I doing here all alone.... in this cold area?" I thought to myself still squatting down and pressing my legs against my chest to reduce the cold temperature in my body.

I tried hard to remember my last moment before that time but I couldn't. I found myself trying to go through my memory but all I could reach was nothing. I was just like a clueless being with an empty brain.

I looked around and saw nothing useful to me at that moment. I stood up to move my feet but I stopped as I knew something was not right. Unfortunately, I could not deduce what it was, so I kept moving. As soon as I started moving, I knew there was something like movement but it felt so weird as I feel like I didn't move for a while. l dragged my feet like I was forced to walk.

I moved towards the light and found myself down the street road. With the help of the lighted street, I could see an old, dirty coat.

I picked it up and covered myself with it. I never knew there was shame in not covering one's body but I never thought it was ok either. I only covered myself up because of the cold I felt. I continued to move down the street until I heard that giggling sounds and footsteps moving in my direction. I paused a bit as I didn't know the next thing to do. I turned immediately to move in the opposite direction but ran into two guys. They were occupying the road like they wouldn't want anyone to pass. They were smiling and staring at me but I turned to move in another direction without wasting time.

Unfortunately, I could not move a step as three more guys already occupied that position. They surrounded me like I ever had a deal with them.

I couldn't help but gave each of them a surprise look on their face, only to find out that they were still smiling and giggling at me like there was something funny.

Slowly, they moved close to me but I also moved backward after each movement they made, to maintain the space between us. I did that for some time till I met a dead end. I realized there was a wall behind me after hitting my back on it.

"oh watch out girl....the wall behind you", a guy said in a mocking tone as the other guys behind him burst into laughter.

"Who are they?" I asked myself, still folding my arms and holding the two ends of the coat to cover my body. He flashed a torch light on my face and I looked down immediately to avoid the rays.

"oh! A pretty girl... What's she doing in the streets this midnight?..wow.. look... She is even naked" the leading guy continued to talk as he make every step slowly, toward me. the other guys just followed up by chuckling as they walk behind him. As soon as I heard the word naked, I thought it was familiar. So, I slowly slipped my back down the wall and squatted to get covered properly.

The guy at the front soon got to me and the rest of them stood behind him. They got closer and closer to me but I never knew their intentions toward me.

"Heyyo girl... Are you shy or something..? You don't need to be. As you can see, the five vipers are here with you. And..don't you know we rock the city at night? Their leader sneered as his partners increased their laughter. This time, the space between us was not much as they surrounded me. I was fortunate enough that they didn't completely toss me in their center because I was sitting by the street's wall and resting my back on it. They got too close to me that I could see what each of them was putting on. They were all in black hoodies.

"Damn! I'm stuck amidst the bad gangs... and it's even midnight..? I thought to myself.

Their leader moved his face close to my left ear ... "would you mind?... If we are like.. checking you out?"
