SERAPHINA'S POV

I slowly turned around to find out who had just spoken.

Luckily, it was Liam.

I breathed deeply in relief. I thought it was Dad or Mom.

If Dad found out, he would completely lose his mind and ban Ronan from seeing me, saying I was influenced wrongly by Ronan. And if Mom eventually found out, she would be so terrified, wondering what had happened to her daughter then she would blame everything on the mark.

After everything that had happened recently, I didn't want her to get worr

SERAPHINA'S POV“Dad?”I called as I slowly came out of the place where I had been hiding.Dad looked shocked. He must have thought I was still at Liam's house, so seeing me coming out of the backyard surprised him.He quickly tried to act as though he wasn't surprised.“Seraphina, you're back already? What were you doing there?” he asked.I hesitated for a moment before answering.“I saw you coming out of the house with Elder Magnus. What was he doing here? What business do you both have together?”Dad glanced back at the direction Elder Magnus had just walked through.“Oh, that? It's nothing, my dear. He just came to discuss some pack affairs with me.”He said it so casually, trying to get inside the house at the same time.I narrowed my eyes.“Pack affairs? Since when did you become the secretary to the Alpha King that makes you interested in what's going on in the pack?”“It’s the pack where I reside so of course, I will be interested. Now, what's with all these questions? Is your

Stop exaggerating. I mean, I just didn't expect to see you here.”“Well, it's not a crime to visit my best friend who has abandoned me, is it?”“Liam, it's not like that…” I tried to explain.“Huh. Keep on talking. I can see you've been too busy with your mate to even remember about your fri

  • THE LUNA WITHOUT A WOLF   CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE

SERAPHINA'S POVI froze.History is about to repeat itself, she said again, sounding panicked. But I didn't reply to her because I didn't want Ronan looking at me like I had lost my mind. I could already imagine the questions he would ask if he noticed me talking to myself.“So, what am I going to do now?” I asked, throwing my hands in the air in frustration. “I'm so confused. I thought I was done with this whole plotting-against-me situation with the elders.”“Who are the elders involved? Let's start from there.” I asked him trying to be as calm as possible.Ronan's expression became serious.“Beta Silas and Elder Magnus from the Dark Clan. That's all I know for now. I'm still trying to….”“Beta Silas?”I interrupted him, shocked to hear that Beta Silas was involved. He was Dad's friend.Ronan nodded.“Wait... the Beta Silas we all know?” I asked, still trying to process what I had just heard.“Is there any other Beta Silas you know that we don't know?”“I mean, that man is Father's

SERAPHINA'S POV“I'm really sorry for the misunderstanding, but I already have a mate,” I explained maintained a calm expression, even though I was boiling with rage inside. Why would Father arrange something like this without even informing me? The entire situation was really making me frustrated.Meanwhile, Dad, Theo, and the men who had accompanied him seemed to be discussing what they considered the perfect agreement. From the looks of things, they had already reached a conclusion.Dad eventually suggested that Theo and I step outside to get to know each other better.I was furious about their arrangement, but I didn't want to cause a scene in front of everyone. Reluctantly, I followed Theo outside. We stopped a little behind the house. The moment we were alone, I folded my arms across my chest, making my displeasure with the arrangements obvious.Theo glanced at me before slipping his hands into his pockets.“Yeah, I know you already have a mate.”“Then why are we even having th

SERAPHINA'S POV“I asked you to stay away from my son, but you stubbornly refused. Not only did you disobey my order to reject him, but you are still clinging to him with your miserable self.”The Alpha King's cold voice filled the carriage. He didn't even reply to my greeting when I stepped inside.I sat silently across from him, my hands resting on my lap as I stared down at them, letting the him speak. I didn't utter a word.“Now that he's about to be coronated, you think he'll still get married to you? You better be joking.”I didn't answer.I simply lowered my head.He stared at me for a moment before continuing.“We already have a suitable wife for him. She's also suitable and smart enough for the throne, and I'm certain you know her.”I slowly raised my head and looked at him, I already knew who he was talking about.Amara.“Like I said, she is more suitable than you are, and I'm sure you understand what that means. She doesn't possess strange powers that are harmful to people,

  • THE LUNA WITHOUT A WOLF   CHAPTER FORTY-EIGHT

SERAPHINA'S POVRonan eventually left my house and went back home. I watched him through the window as he walked away.I felt so happy to finally be back. So happy to see Ronan again.A small smile appeared on my lips.“You have your mate to yourself now. Enjoy it while it lasts,” the beast said inside my head.I frowned.“You're always so pessimistic. Why do you always say things like that?”“Because nothing lasts forever,” she replied.I shook my head and decided not to argue with her. She must have seen life from the point of her betrayal, so she probably didn't know how to see the positive side of things anymore. At this point, the beast had slowly become a part of my life, whether I liked it or not. She was inside me, sharing my thoughts and sometimes even taking control of my body.I knew I needed to get used to her so I couldn't keep calling her the beast every time I wanted to talk to her.So, I decided to give her a name.“Clara,” I whispered, trying to call her. There was a
