Chapter Three

"Alix, I think you need a change of wardrobe. All the dresses here, except a few, are so old-fashioned. Jeez, when was the last time you went shopping? You know what? Don't answer that," Kelly exhaled.

Kelly, for God's sake, Get the dress out and close my wardrobe, Or so help me, God, I am going to change my mind about this party, "I huffed.

"Here, Isn't it so beautiful? I had to search the entire mall before I found something decent that would still showcase your curves."

"I would have said thanks, But something tells me you used my credit card for all the shopping you did that day."

"Well, kinda," she shrugged.

"Kelly!"

"Jeez, you're an Alpha's daughter; I'm just putting all that money to good use." Kelly winked at me.

"Whatever, go get ready."

I slipped into my dress, and I have to admit it was really beautiful. It was a knee-length dark green gown that was open in a triangular form at the hips. It was also slit open a little bit on the right side of my legs. It hugged my body like a second skin.

Wow, girl, you look ravishing. I'm pretty sure guys will fight to ravish you."

"Very funny, Kel, But no, I hope they don't. Besides, girl, you look awesome."

"I know, I can make a rag look like a designer. I also love that my ass looks good in this," Kelly said, turning around for me to view her ass.

I face-palmed myself, "Oh God."

It was true, though; she looks good in her dress. Kelly is just an inch taller than me, but we are nothing alike. She looks like those models on magazine covers—the combination of tall, jet-black hair and blue eyes. I, on the other hand, am very curvy, and I mean it; I got plenty despite my workouts.

Well, let's do your makeup, and we are good to go."

"Wait, What?"

"Ali, come on. Don't let me drag you."

"As if you could."

She sat me down on the chair, then started to work her magic. After what seemed like forever, She was done. I looked in the mirror, and wow, She did a good job.

Kelly whistled "No wonder our pack members say you are the most beautiful woman they have ever seen."

"Yeah, they've ever seen." I made air quotes with my fingers. "There are many beautiful women in the world."

Kelly's phone beeped, and then her countenance fell after she was done reading the message.

"What is the problem?"

"Mason canceled; he has a situation at the firm and has to work overnight. I mean, who chooses work over this?" she gestured at herself.

"You are crazy." I shook my head. "Does that mean we are not going...?"

"We are still going. Maybe not to this VIP section, but we can still get into the venue," She cut in.

We alighted at the party venue in our limousine. There were cars parked around every inch of the club's surroundings, and security was very tight.

Kelly did her charm, and we were allowed into the club, and jeez, there were a lot of people going crazy.

Some were making out in front of everyone, and strippers were dancing on the poles. The place reeked of sweat and booze.

Hey, you want something to drink?"

I was going to say no, But on second thought, I agreed. If I had to stay here for a while, then I needed something strong to be able to do it.

Well, coming right up."

"A few minutes later, She handed me a glass of champagne, which I downed immediately.

Wow, soldier, I am so proud." She laughed, then pointed at the bar and asked, "Should I get some more?"

"Let's go over there together," I answered.

I sat on the bar stool while Kelly ordered the drinks. We downed two more glasses each before we hit the dance floor. God, I missed being so free like this, Caring about nothing in the world. I was a party animal like Kelly when I first got to New York, but not anymore.

Alix," Kelly called me; the noise in the club made her voice bearably audible.

"What?"

"I want to go over to the VIP section."

"What?" I looked over at the passage to the VIP, and there were bouncers at the entrance.

"How are you going to do that? I asked.

Well, duh, I'm going to find someone to take me there," she said, rolling her eyes.

Well, good luck!" I turned and began to sway to the music.

"You're coming with me; I already spotted one of Mason's friends."

She dragged me to the person and then began to chat with him. After what seemed like forever, The man took us to the VIP section.

"You guys enjoy yourselves; I have a business to attend to. Everything is on me." The guy smiled and then left.

He was good-looking, and you could see from his tattoo from where he rolled up his shirt that he sort of gives off the bad boy vibes.

The music in the VIP section was calm and seductive. Strippers were giving private dances for the men and women and serving costly drinks.

"Here, drink this." Kelly handed me a glass of something, Then kept the bottle at the table.

I took a closer look at the bottle; it was Bailey's Irish Cream. I took a sip; it was heavenly; it was like a cream-flavored whiskey.

"Wow."

Yeah, wow. One of the reasons I wanted to come here is this," Kel said, pointing at the bottle.

"What's the other reason?" I asked.

"To gawk at rich hotties," She winked.

We sat down there, sipping the whiskey, and watching people go crazy.

"Let's go over there."

"Where?"

Kelly pointed at the door at the end of the room, where I had seen someone come out.

"It seems like there is a private party going there."

"Someone might notice."

"Duh, this is a club; No one would notice".

" Fine."

We slowly sneaked into the room, and the first thing I noticed was the long-haired guard, who looked like a wolf.

"Kelly?"

Wolves," She said, confirming what I thought.

I pulled her around and turned back to leave the room, but some huge dude was already standing at the door.

"Shit, be calm," I whispered to Kelly, letting go of her hand.

"How did you get in here?" He growled.

"Hi, Sorry, we thought this was the bathroom."

"I don't think so," he growled, and he advanced towards us.

"Did Castile send you?" He growled again and made to grab me.

"Let me go!" I thundered, but he only smiled and then made to grab me.

I grabbed the intruder's hand first, then tried to read his mind. Kelly placed her hand on him, and I withdrew mine.

Wolfs had different powers according to the gifts the moon goddess bestowed on them. Kelly sent bolts of electricity into his system, and he screamed and then dropped to the floor.

Someone grabbed my hair and then threw me at the wall.

"Kelly, get out of here and call Joe right now!" I yelled.

I turned to see two wolves snarling at me.

"But you're wounded; I'm supposed to..."

Now," I stood up to distract both of the guys, but only one of them came for me; the other one went for Kelly.

He tried to grab me, but I punched him in the face, and damn, that hurt. It felt like colliding with a brick wall.

"Stay down, girl".

Did he just call me a girl?

I tripped him, and he stumbled and caught himself. He grabbed me and held me up—his mistake. I put my two legs into the nearest wall and landed on his back, then gave him a kick that made him fall.

"Okay, that's it, girl".

His eye color changed to silver immediately, which means that his wolf is in control now.

With the speed of lightning, he was on me, his paws raised to slap me. I positioned my hand to ward off some of the stings yet to come. I couldn't let him damage my face.

"Stop!" Someone yelled.

He froze in the air, his claws retracted, and he dropped his hands to his side.

"What's going on here, Eli?" The man who asked him to stop growled.

I took a good look at him. He was six feet, maybe six inches or more, because damn the man was tall. He had jet-black hair, green eyes, piercings on his eyes, and a stud on the left side of his ear. He was a wet dream come true.

"What is going on here, Eli?" he growled again.

Something inside of me was screaming, and when his eyes settled on me, I felt like someone sent bolts of electricity into my bloodstream. I inhaled his delicious scent.

"Alpha Reagan, these girls came into this place; Scott tried to question them, but they electrocuted him.

"And This one thought it was best to Manhandle me when I tried to talk to her," Eli chipped in and pointed at his stomach.

"That's a lie; you yanked my hair first; what kind of wolf yanks a helpless woman's hair?" I retorted.

"The one that tries to protect his friends from being electrocuted; besides, you aren't helpless.

"Or maybe an asshole?" I answered.

"Enough, both of you and as for you," he pointed at me.

"I can see that you are exceedingly bad-mannered."

"Excuse me, dimwit."

He paid me no attention and turned to Eli.

"Are they spies?"

"I don't think so. Because they make a hell of a noise, Aren't spies supposed to be quiet?"

"Stop talking about me like I am not here. What did you say about my manners?" I asked.

He turned to me and gave me a hard glare.

"The only reason I am letting you yell at me is because you are human. If not, I would have killed you."

I ignored him and pulled Kelly to her feet, asking, "Can we go?"

"I presume you are single. That isn't a surprise. Nobody wants an ill-mannered banshee for a wife. You may nag the man to death."

"Alpha Reagan, she's just a girl," Eli said.

"What? I am giving her pointers on how to change her life, or else she would remain single for the rest of her days."

He started laughing, and his men joined in too.

My heart clenched at his words; it felt like someone had stabbed me with a hot dagger. I didn't know why I was so affected by the words of the dimwit. My heart felt like it was breaking.

"Are you okay?" Eli asked.

I rolled my eyes and answered, "None of your business."

Manners," Alpha Reagan growled.

Before we left the room, I turned to them and gave the Alpha a sinister smile.

"Alpha Reagan, I presume." I pointed at him.

"You look single too. A piece of advice Nobody wants a misogynistic, Rude asshole for a husband too."

Without sparing him another glance, I closed the door.

I got outside the club carrying Kelly. I phoned Soto and asked him to come get us to the club.
