CHAPTER THREE

Miles was wrong, it wasn't a mansion, it was a community.

Heck, Luna could even call it a town on its own.

She stared wide eyed and completely amazed at the bustling. The securities were another thing to gawk at.

Miles had a bike, in which they rode in with. Immediately the gate to the community parted, the heavily armed men at the entrance narrowed their eyes at the strange face which was Luna. She stared back.

There was one peculiar thing Luna noticed - every single man there had a tattoo, similar ones. Even her brother did. It covered just the left part of their neck and it was quite interesting. A dagger, nothing unique, just a double end dagger with blunt spikes. Yeah, nothing unique.

Luna was carried away with studying the ink, that she didn't notice the meaningful glances the men shared and an item Miles had withdrawn.

"What's that?" She inquired, with confusion written all over her face.

"A plaque. Without the tattoo, you can only be allowed in with this plaque." Miles explained, accelerating through the beautifully tarred road and houses.

Everyone seemed to be going about their normal activities. Except for a blonde-haired lady, puffing out smoke from her blunt, nothing looked mafia-ish. Nothing like what she had in mind, the dark part of her was disappointing.

"Can I have it then?" She forced her eyes away from the blonde girl, and tried focusing on what her brother was telling her.

"Unfortunately not. The boss's right hand man was kind enough to let me have it. It has to be returned now that you're here."

The boss.

She was now in his community, within his vicinity, hence why her brother couldn't call him by his name. A part of her wondered if she would ever get to see him, a tinge of excitement flushed over her.

They were still wheezing past houses, with her hair flying along until Miles stopped before an apartment. It was simple with no luxurious attributions to the exterior, perhaps the interior was better.

Luna alighted, she followed her brother's lead into the apartment.

"Not bad.." Were the first words that flew out of her opened mouth. Miles nodded in agreement.

Couches were aligned in the sitting room, a door was left where she could see the kitchen through.

"Take a rest, you need to relax after everything."

Luna waved her hand. "Not one bit, I am badly craving for some kind of intoxication. Do you think you can whip out some..." She trailed off, hopefully putting on her best expression.

Miles sighed as if to caution yet, but instead, he headed to the fridge and retrieved a bottle of tequila.

Without a cup, Luna threw her head back and downed good gulps.

"Stay put while I return the plaque."

Stay put? Luna scoffed, as her eyes watered.

Stay put, indeed.

***********

Strong as she might be, Luna soon succumbed to the seducing hands of sleep. Sprawled on one of the couches, she awoke with a pounding headache.

Her fingers found her pocket where her phone had been stashed safely.

"10:20 pm! Shit it's late!" Her head banged and she stumbled up.

"I should take a walk, perhaps it will relieve me of this hangover." Luna decided, she blinked to steady herself and began to maneuver her way to the door, noting Miles wasn't still home yet.

The night sky was amazing, the gentle breeze flushed against her skin soothingly, the night lamps were lit and Luna couldn't help, but admire her environment.

"Thanks to Jess, I now have access to this." She gestured to her surroundings sarcastically, while still swaying lightly. Apparently, the alcohol was yet to fade from her system.

She was enjoying the walk so far in her hazy state, she could now see two women in the empty road and they were walking alongside her while chattering loudly.

"You mean you get to see him everyday?" One of the women asked with wide eyes and excitement, there was also a bit of envy in her tone.

"Not everyday you know," The other replied with a sigh. "But, a few times this week. I got to serve him breakfast because I work in the maid's quarters. Oh my! You need to see how ethereal he is!"

The women squealed, causing Luna to scoff. Whoever this person was, he didn't deserve the fan-girling, she was sure.

The two women giggled and took the left route, Luna trailed after them with her gaze, but before her was a sight that made her gape - It was a mansion, large, magnificent and stood out from every other building she saw.

There were guards situated at the exit, she watched the women handover a plaque similar to the one Miles had and they were let in.

It took Luna some seconds to realize it couldn't be any Jack living there. It had to be the boss, Alexander.

Luna couldn't move a step, she stood frozen watching the building housing Alexander. If only she could get past, if only she could see him.

Looking back now, it downed on her then that those women were referring to Alexander. Now her curiosity was getting the better part of her or was it the alcohol? instead of thinking about that, Luna found herself forming a rather sloppy plan on how to get past.

Distracting them and slipping past? Luna was still going through her poorly strategic plan, when she noticed the guards rearranging themselves into a pair of lines at either side of the mansion's exit. She furrowed her brows, wondering why the sudden rearrangement.

Then, the guards bowed. Luna -still rooted to a spot- was confused until a tall man emerged.

Alexander!

Luna could tell from the way the man carried himself, it was with regality. She couldn't see his face yet, due to the position she was at, but she could see the broad shoulders, the lean figure.

He was clad in black pants and a button up shirt, with the first two buttons left open. He had long hair held into a mini ponytail, with the front hairs draping over his face.

Just from his figure, Luna had to admit he was worth the hype. She watched him stalk towards a car that was parked close by. His walking steps were filled with confidence and even from afar, Luna could feel the cold aura that radiated off him in waves.

The way he murmured something and sent his fingers into his hair, ruffling it. One of the guards pulled the car door open and obediently waited for him to get in.

Luna wasn't expecting it, when he suddenly snapped his head towards her direction. She sucked in a breath sharply, she could swear time stopped and his eyes were cold enough to freeze her.

He wasn't just staring at her direction, his eyes were fixed on and Luna couldn't find it in her to look away.

Alexander is... handsome, goodlooking, ethereal and a sight to behold. From his dark eyes down to his sharp jaw. She thought and slowly gulped. She could see the orbs as it shone and fixated on her.

Alexander! He was gazing at her just like she was.

His eyes were large, they stood out more on his face with the darkness it held.

Luna didn't want to stop looking, she wanted to hold his gaze forever. She wanted to bask in his out of the world beauty.

Luna wondered if it was still the alcohol in her system, but she wasn't satisfied with just looking. She now wanted to move closer and force a smile on his hard and passive face.

Alexander's left brow suddenly shot up demandingly. it jolted Luna out of her trance. He sent his hands into the pockets of his pants fully facing her. The action made Luna shudder.

How can a man exude such attractiveness? she thought and a shiver ran down her spine.

She was still fixated to the spot not willing to ever look away, when Alexander took a step forward.

Holy shit!

He took a step forward, towards her!

Luna stood her ground, as he marched with sharp powerful strides.
