Chapter 13

Ema saw his boss calling him, and he had no choice but to pick up the call, he sighed before picking up the call and placing the phone on his left ear

“Hello sir,” he said in a solemn voice after picking the call up

“Ema, I need you at the office right now. What’s taking you so long? I thought you wanted to grab lunch” Victor asked and Ema squeezed his eyes tightly, he looks at Lila and the thought of leaving her and answering his boss's call was displeasing to him.

“I’m sorry sir, I can’t come to the office right now. Lila lost her mom, and I am here with her” Ema said, looking at Lila who was too tired to cry any longer, and she was gently laying on her head on top of Ema’s body. Victor was shocked to hear what Ema said, he was bewildered pondering on what happened after he gave the money Lila needed for the hospital bill.

“You should take her to my place right now, I will join her there soon,” Victor said and that got Ema slightly angry. He doesn’t want Victor to be too close
