“He betrayed us. How could he?” Damien complained to Lucian.

“Well… with the way he’s been acting lately, I’m not surprised. His mood swings and all, one second he’s angry, the next he’s sorry, then he’s supportive, and now he’s in denial. He’s really not trustworthy, or even worth our trust,” Lucian poured out, frustration lacing every word.

“Yeah, maybe. Still, I have a feeling he has his reasons,” Damien said, stroking his chin.

“Reasons, sure,” Lucian muttered, sarcasm dripping from his tone.

“I really think he does. Didn’t you realize that when we left the room, he was in a normal mood, but when he came to the study, he changed? I feel like something triggered him, but I’m confused. Whenever he says anything, it sounds so true that you don’t know when to believe him and when not to.” Damien shook his head.

“I don’t trust Kael, and I don’t think I ever will. Well, maybe if he stopped with this split-personality act, I could consider forgiving him,” Lucian said flatly.

“You know, when we asked Kael for his suggestion earlier, he hesitated. I think he’s keeping us in the dark,” Damien said, already jumping to conclusions without deeper thought.

“And if he knows something about our mate or anything helpful that he isn’t telling us, then I’m done being his brother,” Lucian said bitterly.

Kael, who was about to enter the room, froze when he heard those words. He knew what he was about to do carried consequences, and now he would have to face them. Not wanting to hear them gossip about him anymore, he barged inside.

“Speak of the devil,” Lucian muttered, loud enough for Kael to hear.

Kael didn’t respond. He walked past them as if they didn’t exist, heading straight to the parlor without a glance, though he could feel their eyes stabbing daggers into his back.

Lucian rolled his eyes at Kael’s departing figure. Damien parted his lips to speak, but when Kael didn’t even look at him, he shut his mouth again.

“So rude,” Lucian remarked as Kael opened the parlor door. Kael’s demeanor didn’t change; he simply entered without a word.

“He acted like we didn’t exist,” Damien muttered, upset by the cold dismissal.

“It’s really annoying that he treats us, his own brothers, like this. If he spoke to me, even though I’m still annoyed by his actions, I’d reply,” Lucian admitted.

“I was even about to start the conversation, but when he acted like we weren’t there, I kept quiet,” Damien said. The betrayal stung like hell.

“Are we still going to search for our mate, now that Kael isn’t on our side anymore?” Lucian asked, curiosity evident in his tone.

“Yes, of course. We’ll keep looking for her, but we won’t tell Kael anything about our progress. Even if we find her, he won’t be informed,” Damien replied firmly.

“What if Kael reports us to Father, since we’re not on his side anymore?” Lucian asked, his foot tapping against the floor impatiently.

“I don’t think he’ll snitch on us. But if he does, we’ll just have to move in secret, especially when he isn’t around. One thing I know, if he reports us, it won’t be now,” Damien said.

“Okay… I hope so.” Doubt lingered in Lucian’s tone. The Kael he saw now wasn’t the Kael he once knew.

“After we get responses from the other packs, if she isn’t there, then we’ll have to try other packs, even our enemies,” Lucian said, shifting the topic away from Kael.

“Yeah, we will. But I feel like Kael is playing at something, and it could be really dangerous,” Damien thought aloud, stroking his chin.

“Well, I don’t think so. He doesn’t even like making plans,” Lucian countered.

Damien sighed. “Still, I can’t deny he has his reasons.”

“Yeah, I guess,” Lucian replied, sarcasm still dripping from his tone.

Just then, Kael suddenly opened the parlor door and stepped inside, making both Damien and Lucian turn toward him.

Kael saw the hate in Lucian’s eyes. In Damien’s, it wasn’t hate, just the sting of betrayal.

“Father summons the three of us,” Kael reported evenly.

“How do you know?” Lucian asked, raising his brows.

“He mind-linked me,” Kael replied, his tone calm and detached.

“Okay,” Damien said simply, leaving with Lucian. Kael followed behind them.

When they reached their father’s quarters, Damien opened the door. All of them stepped inside, with Kael last, closing the door behind him.

“Good morning, Father,” they all greeted at the same time.

“Good morning, my sons,” Magnus replied. His expression hardened as he continued. “I summoned you here because I’ve heard that Damien and Lucian are still searching for the Omega. Meanwhile, Kael has gotten over her and is planning to move on.”

Damien and Lucian were shocked, though they masked it carefully.

‘I told you he could betray us,’ Lucian mind-linked Damien.

‘Well, that was shocking,’ Damien replied through the mind-link.

Magnus’s gaze swept between them. “If I ever find out that Damien and Lucian are still searching, I’ll punish you both severely.”

“Yes, Father,” they answered in unison.

“You may leave,” Magnus said, dismissing them.

Once outside, Lucian shoved Kael against the wall, pressing his elbow against his neck.

“Why did you report us?” Lucian demanded. Cassidy, who happened to be passing by, stopped in her tracks, caught by the scene.

“You’re lucky I didn’t say the rest,” Kael growled, shoving Lucian’s elbow away from his throat.

As Kael walked past, his shoulder brushed Cassidy’s. He leaned close, whispering, “You owe me one, maybe a night.” He winked, leaving her stunned by his sudden change of nature.

Inside, Kael felt disgusted with himself for saying that. But he didn’t let it show.

"What?! Are you serious?" Emily said, her eyes widening in shock."Yes, I am. And why would I joke about something like that?" Cassidy responded."I hope you rejected him," Emily said, raising her brows."No, I didn’t. I was so shocked to even process anything," Cassidy replied."Did you go back to look for him after you processed everything?" Emily asked."Yes, I did, but he was already gone when I came back to check for him," Cassidy answered."Does anyone else know, or is it just me?" Emily asked another question."Only you know about this," Cassidy replied."Damn," Emily breathed, still stunned by all of this."I don't know what to do. I'm so confused," Cassidy said."I think you should tell your father since you're confused. He could help you reach out to him as far as you can still remember his looks," Emily advised."Thanks for the idea. I didn't even think of that," Cassidy appreciated."You're welcome," Emily acknowledged. "Do you still remember what he looks like?" she asked

When they arrived at the restaurant, Cassidy couldn’t hide her surprise. It was the most elegant and expensive place in the entire pack.Kael was the first to step out of the car, followed by the others. Once everyone was out, he locked it and led the way toward the entrance.Inside, a waiter greeted them warmly. “Good morning, Alphas. Good morning, Ms. Cassidy,” he said with a polite bow.“Please follow me to the VIP section.”“Alright,” Kael replied on behalf of everyone, and the waiter led them toward the elevator that would take them to the top floor. When they reached the VIP section, they were shown to the best table, where they settled comfortably.“What would you like to have?” the waiter asked.“We’ll take steak and four bottles of vodka,” Damien replied for the group, and the waiter wrote the order down quickly.“Would you like dessert?” he asked next.“We’ll have—” Damien began, but Kael cut him off.“No dessert,” Kael said simply.Damien and Lucian exchanged a questioning g

Even if he did, his father wouldn’t believe him. While Kael was still figuring out how to tell his father, a maid knocked on the door of the study where he was.“Who’s there?” Kael asked, wondering who would disturb him after he’d clearly said he didn’t want to be disturbed.“It’s a maid, Alpha,” the maid announced.“What?” he asked flatly.“Your father summons you,” the maid said.“Okay,” Kael acknowledged, and the maid who was standing on the other side of the door left.Kael wondered why his father would send a maid to summon him when he could have simply used a mindlink. He stood up from his chair and left the study for his father’s quarters. • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   New job

I hated hangovers; they were the worst. Well, that served me right for drinking too much. I woke up late, and luckily it was Sunday and not a workday. My hair was a complete mess, and I smelled like alcohol. I knew I had to take a shower immediately.I got out of bed, took off the clothes I wore to the party, and tossed them into the laundry basket in my room. Then I went into the bathroom and took my time in the shower before finally stepping out after what felt like hours. When I was done, I went to the closet and picked out something simple to wear ; a black baggy shirt paired with blue baggy trousers. I removed the towel wrapped around my body and hair, hung it on the towel rail, then applied some body cream before putting on the clothes I’d chosen earlier, along with blue slippers. After finishing up, I dried my hair and applied some cream to it before leaving my room to prepare breakfast. But as soon as I reached the kitchen, the sweet smell of pancakes hit me, and there was Bla

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   Secret company

Kael still couldn’t believe he had seen his mate, and that he had even kissed her. The moment kept replaying in his mind. The anger that surged through him when he saw her grinding against another man still burned in his chest. He had wanted to rip the man apart, to tear him limb from limb, but he held himself back. He couldn’t risk scaring her. He’d seen the pain in her eyes when he walked away. He wished he could have stayed longer, just a little more time to hold her, but he couldn’t. He had to return to the pack before anyone grew suspicious. The last thing he needed was to draw attention to himself, not when things were already tense. When Kael got back from seeing his mate, he ended up killing a few rogues who had tried to attack the pack borders, leaving their lifeless bodies behind. He made a mental note to tell his father about it later in the day.The moment Kael realized he smelled like his mate, he quickly masked her scent. He couldn’t afford anyone picking up on it.Now t

  • THE OMEGA'S HEAT   A kiss

“I… will do it,” I agreed nervously and went over to Blake’s side, sitting on his lap. I wasn’t even wearing any panties, so I was sure he could feel it. I hadn’t even started rocking him yet, and he was already hard, his dick poking against my thighs. After a minute of sitting still, I began moving slowly, rocking him, and he kept getting harder through his pants. When I was done, I stood up, leaving him painfully hard. His face was red, veins popped along his neck, and his jaw was clenched tight. “Way to go, Becky, you left him hard,” Abby said with a smirk curling on her lips. I so badly wanted to wipe it off. This game was getting too intense, and I had to ask if we could end it or play something else because I didn’t want to be asked anything so bold again. “Could we play another game?” I asked. “No way, Becky. We’ll only stop when we’re drunk or tipsy,” Lily announced, and I knew I had to brace myself and hope it didn’t point at me again. A few minutes passed, and luckily, i
