CHAPTER 3

Ashford on the other hand walked down the stairs, he spotted Bartram moving around the dining table. He walked into the kitchen with Bartarm, the aroma of the food was intoxicating.

"Smells nice, father." Ashford complimented.

Bartram glanced at him. "Thank you, the food is ready but my daughter is a vegetarian."

"I know that but don't you think she should eat some meat? She is a werewolf and a vampire."

"The choice is hers." Bartram said. "Would you mind passing me the spoon please?"

Ashford reached out for the spoon and grabbed it, handing the spoon to Bartram he glanced over to the dining table. Bartram had set up the table with different kinds of food and now he was stuffing it with veggies and no blood.

Ashford walked towards the table, vampires do get enough strength when they drink blood and Luna hadn't drank blood yet except his blood. After both men were finished from setting the table. Luna finally appeared above the stairs, she had changed into something else. A red gown, the red gown showed off her shoulders and she had washed her hair and they looked more shiny.

"Don't you both think my eyes color attract a lot for attention?" Luna asked as soon as she descended the last stairs.

Ashford peered at her. "It does attract attention but it is beautiful the way it is."

"I think I should change my eyes color, it is going to be so noticeable that I am a hybrid of I keep going around with silver eyes. Everyone had thought hybrids have gray colored eyes but now it is clear that I am not just a hybrid. I am Altamunar and I don't even know exactly who I am." She groaned in frustration as she pulled out a chair and sat on it.

"You don't really have to change your eye color, there is no one here to harm you." Ashford replied. "The hybires are gone, you will be fine."

"You have been walking around with silver eyes since birth, why do you want to change it now?" Bartram asked, balancing two trays in his hand.

She glanced at him. "I was just wondering if I could change the color."

"You are unique and different." Bartarm said. "Keep your uniqueness safe."

Luna flashed a smile at him. "Thanks father." Her gaze shifted to Ashford. "How did you manage to get me out? Dean mentioned you and said to him that to make me heal the queen he has to release me."

"That's right." Ashford replied. "I told him that but that was not the only thing I did."

Luna yawned loudly. "I haven't had a proper sleep in ages," she admitted, her eyelids heavy with exhaustion.

"It was just a month." Ashford reminded her.

"It felt like forever, there were mice running around the place and I had to lay awake. It was cold and I hated it there." She ranted.

"Weren't you one who let them take you?" Bartram inquired.

She glanced at him, he was still standing and was heading for the kitchen again.

"Father won't you sit? You already made enough." She said,

"I know, I know." Bartram snapped.

"You don't have to snap at me." Luna muttered.

"Here you both go again." Ashford uttered. "I thought we have grown over this."

"We have grown over it." Luna responded.

Bartram walked into the kitchen and returned with the plate of mushrooms. He glanced at Luna.

"Sorry for snapping at you." Bartram apologized. "It wasn't intentional."

"Could you both be nice? I just came out of the dungeon and I am angry at myself for staying in that horrible place when my room was so neat and the bed incredibly soft." She ranted.

Ashford and Bartram exchanged glances.

"Did you hit your head during your stay?" Bartram asked.

"No." Luna responded. "I haven't been eating proper food either. May we start eating now?"

"Let's eat." Bartram replied. "I will dish out food for you."

Luna glanced at the table filled with different kinds of food and began dishing out food for herself before her father could help her. She began stuffing her face with food, not caring if anyone was watching her.

"You are going to choke on the food." Ashford cushioned.

Tears filled the corners of Luna's eyes, she kept on eating and soon she was bawling like a little kid. She dropped her spoon and Ashford handed her the napkin. She wiped her mouth with it.

"Why are you crying?" Bartram asked. "Don't tell me the food doesn't taste good."

"It's delicious." She replied, sniffing. "I just missed the taste of good food."

Ashford stretched out his hand and rubbed her head. "Calm down Kitten, you are out and that's all that matters. Don't worry, we will make you for all the time you missed."

Luna glanced at him, he was smiling at her and she couldn't help but smile back.

"Thanks Assy." She replied.

"What?" Bartram questioned. "How are you seeing Assy again?"

Luna chuckled, she knew how to get her father worried. His reaction was just the same as all the times he has heard of Assy. Her childhood best friend that he thought was imaginary.

"I just created a new nickname for Ashford, he always calls me Kitten and Dove…"

"I don't like the nickname." Ashford pouted. "I feel like my heart is breaking, if you call me that it is as if you are seeing Assy through me."

"Exactly." Bartram agreed.

"Fine." Luna twirled her hair in her hands. "I won't call you Assy."

Ashford sighed in relief. "That's actually a relief."

"I know right." She responded and glanced at her father. "Why does the alpha wants me to get engaged to his son?"

"I heard about it too, you can't get married to him." Ashford muttered. "You don't want to be his Luna, right?"

Luna clasped her fingers together. "If he wants me to get engaged to him and be his Luna. There is no big deal, I still want to unite vampires and werewolves together and being the Luna is a great way to make it happen. I am partially accepted in the pack, being Luna would make me fully accepted."
