CHAPTER EIGHT

"Wake up!" The voice calling out to me sounded muffled and faraway as I tried to get my bearings. "Wake up. Dammit, Rosita, wake up!"

I gasped as I clicked my eyes open, I darted my gaze around me sharply, there was a high ceiling above me which seemed familiar and at the same time unfamiliar, I was in my room. How did I get here.

"What are i..." I muttered as I sat up slowly, the room looked the same so nothing was amiss except for the tall brooding muscular man standing not far from the foot of the bed staring down at me with an intensified gaze and his hands across his chest.

"What happened?"

"You tell me" he growled "...you fainted after saying something about me not seeing who you were seeing"

"I fainted?" I frowned slightly, I closed my eyes to remember then I gasped softly, I remember now. The strange woman in black, Alpha Ryker said he could not see her and I remember their bodies almost melding into one and she finally whispering something about how I could see her.

    "Because..." I waited for him to speak but he stayed silent, with tears pouring down my face I screamed at him. "It's unfair! Why did you have to chose me? I'm sure you are lying about me being your mate" His eyebrows went up and immediately his face turned deadly but I was too upset to care. "I'm asking you, answer me" I pounded his chest with my fist, of course it did nothing to him. He stayed still letting me pound my frustrations out, by the time I stopped I was already tired. "Please, tell me." I spoke weakly, "Fine, since you won't say anything, at least...at least accept me, accept me as your mate so that I can feel like...like..." I struggled for words, my lips trembled with my hasty breathing. "In fact, just let me go. Thank you for getting me out of that place but...I can't be of any use to you so...let me go" The only sound between us was my sniffling and the occasional creaking noises, he stared at me quietly for a while then, "I can't answer your question...now.

Alpha Ryan was shirtless as he came to stand in front of me, after a few seconds of intense staring he finally sat down in front of me. His chest muscles bounced and flexed as he sat down, the table did nothing to hide his perfectly sculpted abs. I gulped then quickly looked up when I heard the sound of a throat being cleared. He was smirking at me, in embarrassment I sucked my head and tried to focus on my food. "How was your night?""Huh?""Your night" he repeated, his voice a smooth growl."I..it was fine. Thank you for asking."He nodded with a grunt then kept quiet and continued to stare at me. I couldn't eat comfortably under his stare so I got up with my tray."Um, so I'm done.     I screamed out in pain as I felt a surge of pain lancing through my shoulder then slowly followed by a wave of pleasure that left me breathless. I breathed in and out harshly trying to calm myself. I could feel myself closer to him that before, it was like I was sharing half of his soul, is this what a mate bond felt like. Suddenly, I didn't want him to leave me but I knew it was the bond talking not me, so I kept quiet and lowered my head as he pulled back, I glanced at the place he had bitten me and saw a mark on my shoulder- a wolf standing majestically-an intricate symbol that seemed to pulse with a life of its own. Ryker's eyes locked onto mine, his gaze burning with passion. "You're mine now," he whispered, his breath sending shivers down my spine. With that, he turned and disappeared into the night, leaving me feeling stunned and confused and wanting. I suddenly yawned as I looked around the room.
