Half of the day in Alpha Damien's chamber, I always wished I could just murder him and be free of this stupid life that had been bestowed upon me. But here I was wishing the situations were different, Alpha Damien was really dead and I am being accused of his murder.
The werewolves were divided into 3 packs, with each pack being led by a different Alpha. And under each pack, the lowest of us called the omegas are almost like the slave of the pack. Each one of us is raised in a house that is no different from a poultry, with each of us picked off one by one by whoever chose us. Unfortunately I was chosen by Alpha Damien; the cruelest of them all.
We were mated to our Alphas, without being given the choice to find our respective mates. I'm pretty sure everyone believed the Alphas were doing them a good thing because nobody would love to be bound to an omega for the rest of their lives.
I kept running as fast as my bared bloodied feet could carry me, there was nowhere to go except the so-called place I once called home. I ran in and shut the door behind me, peeping through the knob. Celeste, the head of omegas, was speaking to the wolf enforcers who chased me from the Alpha's chamber.
She pointed to the room I locked myself in. “She's in there.”
“Bloody bitch,” I cursed, thinking of what to do next. Everything was cut short immediately I heard the heavy banging on the door. They were trying to break it down. The window was too small to fit my small body, and more so it was so high.
The wooden door standing as a barrier between us went down and the first thing I did was to kneel, raising my hands up high.
“I didn't do it, I swear. I swear with everything I have, I swear to the moon goddess,” I rushed my words.
One of the enforcers came forwards and hit my head with the hilt of his sword. “Keep quiet. You have committed an abomination and Blackshade will make sure to see the end of you. Take her to the palace; Beta Thorin and the Alpha's daughter requests for her presence.”
Ignoring the pain burning in the side of my head, I aimed for running but that wasn't a good choice in any way. I struggled with them and tried to break free from them. But who was I kidding? Aside from being strong, they were faster. They were wolves who had been able to shift and hunt down rogues all their lives and lived to protect the palace, unlike me, who had only been a thing for pleasure for that bastard Alpha.
“Next time you try it, I'll make sure to cut your head off before we get to the palace,” Jagger—the head of the wolf enforcers—spoke in my face, making me shiver in fear.
There was no iota of joke in what he said. His scarred up face added to the intensity of how he talked. Everyone feared him, he was one of the best defenses we had in the Blackshade pack.
“Get her to the palace. I'll be behind you, making sure you don't do any stupid thing,” he directed his last words to me. At that point, I allowed myself to be dragged away. I was a rebel, but not when my life was on the line.
The corner of my eye caught my best friend, Mia. She was my partner in crime, weeping for me. She was given to one of the gammas in the pack, her life was pretty much better than mine.
I was dropped roughly on the cold hard tiled floor of the palace. The first thing my eyes came in contact with was the lifeless body of Alpha Damien. Fury ran through my body as I remembered every single time he defiled me and treated me more than a slave. I cursed out unconsciously.
“May the moon goddess reject your damn soul, you cold bastard,” I said, spitting on him.
The first kick that went across my mouth spurted blood on the clean tiled floor of the palace. Next, I didn't know where the punches came from but it was all over.
“Let her be,” a different yet very stern voice said. Every warrior assumed their former position with their blades squarely locked up beside them, leaving me messed up with my blood on their floor. I wiped my bloodied face and knelt upright. Regardless of the fact that I was an omega, I would fight till my last breath.
The owner of the stern voice squatted in front of me, brushing my cherry red hair backwards.
“Killing my father was one thing and then saying that the moon goddess should reject his soul is another thing. Two grievous crimes in one,” Eliza said, smiling mischievously.
Regardless of what I said, it was believed that I killed Alpha Damien. I insisted on my innocence because it was true.
I looked up to her. That was another crime, I knew but I still decided to be rebellious even at the point of death.
“I didn't kill Alpha Damien,” I said. As soon as I finished with my words, a sharp punch lodged itself at the side of my cheek.
“You don't address the lady of the house that way, you cower when you are talked to,” Jagger said.
“That's enough Jagger, she will confess in due time,” she said, walking away.
All this while, Beta Thorin was present but he didn't say a damn word. I despised him too, especially when he tried getting intimate with me and I hurt him where the sun didn't shine before running away. I expected nothing less from him too, he would do whatever to make sure I was killed.
“Lock her up in the pack square, she will face the court trial tomorrow,” he said.
Unconsciously, my palm started to sweat and the hairs on my body stood up. Now was the time for fear to register itself in my body. The court trial was the least thing I thought would happen to me. The 3 werewolves pack would come to determine my fate. As rumors carried it, if Alpha Damien was who I know to be the cruelest, then the other Alphas were demons straight from hell.
ElizaLocation: The Blackshade PackI waited patiently behind doors for the news I sought, it was the only way I could verify the news that had been flying around. The door suddenly opened, causing my heart to miss a beat.“Don't do that next time Jagger, you made me worry,” I scolded him immediately he found his way into my chambers.“I'm sorry my lady,” he bowed, still not saying anything.Impatiently, I went closer to him, speaking in hushed voices. Like they said, the walls have ears and he was the only one I trusted. “What did you find out?”His sigh made me legs weaken and caused the beating of my heart go faster. Jagger wasn't one to give in to fear or any type of emotion that dealt with uncertainties.“I'm afraid my lady, the rumors are true. Beta Thorin has been hurrying the elders up to proclaim him the new Alpha. He also emphasized on the fact that Blackshade pack was one that had never had a female Alpha and it shouldn't start now. Since he was the next one after the late
ElijahSitting on that chair and watching Astra doing whatever she knew how to do best was becoming tiring and boring. She knew how to keep me waiting for a long time and by now I should be used to it but instead it only pissed me off more. I had to keep my cool, she was someone who could annihilate me with just a snap of her finger. She finally concluded her task, batting her eyelids in my direction. Her long dark hair flowed freely, covering a portion of her eyes from both sides. Her voice infiltrated my thoughts like an old man's own. “How can I help you Elijah?”“That lady is now in Tristan's pack,” I blurted out without thinking twice, hoping it would take her by surprise. But instead, she just sat there looking at me with no difference in her eyes.In the most calm and unexpected tone of voice, she replied. “I know.”Her response and attitude riled me up. I maintained my cool and said, my voice going higher than normal. “You knew? Since when?”“Since the day she healed him,” she
DariusFrom the spot I stood, I watched as he talked to himself and how he proceeded to lay on the bare floor. No matter how much I talked to him about letting that lady go, he wouldn't listen. He was probably having a change of heart, might be because of Raven. She had a lot of talking and convincing to do.I excused myself and snuck out of the pack, making sure the enforcers on patrol didn't catch a whiff of it. I made my way deep into the forest, where the rogues made their home a secret.“Who is there?” The rogue enforcer smelt so badly, I could smell him from a mile away. “Better watch your mouth before I shut it for you,” I shut him up. He knew exactly who was there, my smell would have given me away yet he had the guts to ask me a stupid question.“My apologies Beta Darius,” he bowed. “The boss is inside.”I made my way into the inner room, helping myself to something that can cover my nose. A foul smell filled the air and I wondered how they managed to live there.“Darius,” m
Tristan The darkness had become my companion, I saw less of Darius everyday and I couldn't fault him for that. The pack was stable for now, everyone lived peacefully, so there was no need for him to jump on my neck. I sat in the dark near the cabin I assigned her, with a plate of food specifically asked to be prepared for her.“It's no use sitting around here,” her voice startled me, allowing me to drop the plate of food I held. “Have I done something wrong this time around?”I came out of the shadows, with nothing in my head to say. “Hi,” I gave my signature smile.Standing at akimbo, she pouted her lips and the swollen side shot out. She looked like she had placed an egg in that spot. I almost laughed but I held myself in order.“I-I-I uhmmm, I brought dinner but,” I turned around to look at the mess I had created. “But it's wasted now, sorry.”She turned around and saw what I had meant. “Thank you but if you will excuse me, I'll like to go to bed.”Mentioning bed, I remembered whe
TristanA nudging annoying pain on my shoulder and spine wouldn't let me be. It was something that started over the days and I've tried to figure out what was happening. But no matter what I did, it was still there. Reluctantly I found my way to Raven's chamber and helped myself to the bed.“What is it? How can I help you?” Her voice gave off an unwelcoming tone and I knew where the attitude was coming from.“Now is not the time for all this Raven. Can you help me take a look at my spine and shoulder? It hurts badly.”She took her time before adjusting to my level. I monitored her facial expressions, she had a sour one on.“Tell me it's nothing serious,” I begged. Now was not the time to be weak. The pack needs me, everyone needs me.“It is something serious. This healed wound is caused by who?”I started to recall. It was the night a big black wolf attacked me from nowhere in the forest when I went on my last hunting spree.“What exactly are you asking? Who healed the wound or who ca
Raven The news of what happened had spread around the pack members with everyone having a different version of what actually happened. Immediately the 2 enforcers rushed her in, I knew that Tristan had done something to her and I requested they tell me all that happened. Given that they were present at the scene, they gave me a correct load down.He had ordered me not to interfere in whatever he does to her. Staying quiet in all of these would be catastrophic and the future of the pack will be doomed.I reclined to her level and wiped her hair back, mopping her face with a rag. I noticed her mouth was full of unhealed bruises and her shoulder dislocated. It was a new one because one of the things that marveled Tristan about her was her healing powers even though she hadn't shifted yet.I mixed a concoction and helped pour it in her mouth, it should help her with the bruises. As she snored away quietly, my mind raced to the information given to me by the enforcers. Maybe it was high t
