Chapter seventeen.

Diana's pov

Merilyn cast me a sideways glance, it had become a common thing for her ever since the night I was rejected.

The pain in my chest increased, knowing that your other half whom the moon goddess had destined for you was planning his wedding with someone else.

I feigned ignorance so Merilyn wouldn't think I was hurt or anything, but deep down my heart was crying, I cleared my throat and dragged her by the arm before she could say anything else, “Let's go before we are late.”

Luckily she got the cue as she didn't bring it up until we had reached the yard where Miss Beatrice was today, assigning tasks usually occurred in the servants’ quarters or wherever she wanted to have them.

We went through the normal motion until it was my turn, “Diana, you'd be assigned to the princess's bedroom today,” and then she moved on.
